This is the BEST movie theatre. First of all, the place is Beautiful with a guaranteed Perfect Movie experience. When entering I always have a feeling of excitement. The aroma of fresh popcorn cause the big inhale and smile. You can ALWAYS count on excellent customer service. Yesterday that 5 star customer service goes to Patrick. He was very kind and extremely helpful assisting me with my rewards. Excellent food and beverage choices. From soft drinks to beer, then popcorn to pizza etc...There's a lot to choose from. This is my theater of choice. To me it's always clean, I also have had a Regal rewards club card for over 20 years. (I have me original card but everything is online now. We have a home theater system but I still love the theater experience better. Just like I prefer shopping in regular stores to online. I love the popcorn smell and how sometimes the crowd gets super excited on some films. I am a huge movie buff. The place is always clean here, the snacks are fresh and I always got good service. I miss the box office being open and had issues with the screens but you can get your tickets online and at the concession stand. I think this makes the concession stand line longer. Other than that Regal is my theater of choice and I love the regal rewards. I rarely go to a non regal theater and when I buy gift cards it's always regal! read more

Hands down, my favorite Regal Cinemas in the area. If I'm anywhere near Midlothian, I'm making a beeline for Regal Westchester. Sometimes I don't feel like making the 40-minute drive, but honestly? It's so worth it. This theater is always spotless. The bathrooms are pristine (a rare gem in the movie theater world), the theaters themselves are super clean, and the snacks are always fresh. The whole place feels modern and well-kept--definitely a step above most of the other Regal locations nearby. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and whether I've gone during a busy evening or a quiet matinee, the vibe has always been great--no rowdy crowds, no chaos, just a solid movie experience every time. Bought tickets online. I was glad to do it so the theater could save money on ticket labor. So they rewarded me by charging 10 booking fee. Tucked away from the main arteries of Midlothian, its staff is friendly and professional, the concession stand provides quick service and hot food and popcorn, and the theaters are very clean. Boy what a relief to find an efficient, well kept theater in the post pandemic era! It doesn't appear to have the box office open at all times, perhaps a staffing issue and to encourage people to buy tickets online. Theaters have plenty off space in terms of total seating and leg room. And I have to say, this was the first time they had employees patrolling the seats to enforce things such as propping feet up and picking up trash-very appreciated. Update 7/29/18 - (in reference to the toilet paper picture.) Someone FINALLY got it! Ladies, ...you know when using a public restroom the toilet paper holder is put in a position where it's hard to get toilet paper because it sits low, AND because it sits low it also makes it that much more crowded. Well, Westchester theater understands and has fixed that problem. #itsthesmallthings I've recently learned about Westchester Movie Theater (Regal) in the Midlothian area of Richmond. My goodness!! This is the cleanest and roomiest theater I have ever been in!! Well, minus your dine in theaters. Anyway, as you know when going to the movies and its pretty crowded, its always a pain in the butt to have to excuse yourself past several people to either get a seat or go to concession or the bathroom. No need for that here, people can totally get past you without you budging. The family bathroom I used was exceptionally clean and stocked appropriately. The teenagers who work there are awesome and always friendly. I now travel from the West End of Richmond to go to this theater. Highly recommended. Kudos Westchester!! read more

Went to see a movie at this location yesterday. There's no one working the ticket box anymore, only terminals. The screen asked for a credit card or gift card. I scanned 2 gift cards and it wouldn't accept either one. After numerous attempts and no one to help me there or Guest Services, I scanned my credit card and of course that went straight thru. No one around to help, I went in and saw the movie. When I came out, there was an older man reviewing tickets for entry. I asked him if he was a Manager and he said yes. I explained my problems and he said THE TICKET BOX TERMINALS DON'T ACCEPT GIFT CARDS, YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE CONCESSION STAND AND THEY WOULD HAVE HELPED YOU. I asked how would I know that? I told him a simple fix to the problem is posting a sign to go to the concession stand if using a gift card. No clue, unacceptable customer service and evidently not interested in what I had to say. Poor management! Theatre was clean and temperature was good. Will probably go back now that I know what the procedure is. AMC is better at customer service. read more

There's really nothing wrong with his movie theatre. It's really clean probably about everywhere in the building. The one thing that irritated me the most was that I bought a movie ticket for 4pm, and the movie didn't start until 4:30. It was just 30 minutes of commercials. I know most movie theatres do this but is it necessary to play 30 minutes worth of commercials. Also, the staff didn't really seem to care about anything. We had to wait 5 minutes for the lady to collect our tickets for us to enter the movie theatre. After 5 minutes, we just walked past and she finally realized. Really enjoy coming to this theater. I prefer to come during matinee and during the week when it isn't as crowded. But today we came on a Sunday afternoon. Needless to say I was nervous it would be crazy. I ordered our tickets through Fandango. I got a text message that showed we payed. All I did was show the text to the ticket taker. They scanned the text I got. And we were in. So no wait at the door for tickets. We got some snacks. The line was long but there was plenty of help. We were thought the line in minutes. (I'm guilty of making science puns, but only periodically :-O ! Oh no, she didn't!) There's lots of parking. It's super clean, even the restrooms! The staff is well trained. The concession area is well stocked. Goobers, Raisinets? I'm on a tootsie roll! The popcorn is fresh! (But please, can a movie theater offer real butter! ) The seats are comfy. It's usually not overly crowded. And it has a fun game room! I love a cheesy photo booth and cannot pass one up!! Sorry, I'm rambling, sometimes I lose my focus. Say cheese and pile in!! We love this theater. The theater has comfortable seats and lots of options with the 16 screens. The people have been great as well. Food lines are too slow but without extra help, I'm not sure what could be done about it. My only major complaint with Regal is the new reserved seating process. I HATE this. I have always been someone who shows up early to get a good seat and this rewards those who are running late. So far I have seen more people show up late since this change. Also, It's hard to go with a group unless one person buys all of the tickets. To top it all off, I have never experienced people arguing in a theater until the implementation of assigned seats. Everyone I have talked to so far have disliked this new process. Eliminate this "feature" to get a 5 star. read more

I really like going to this theater because it is newer and doesn't get the crowds that the other ones do in Richmond, except when there is a big new release... then all theaters are packed! This theater is always clean and the place is huge. The concession stands have everything you could want and the staff always seem friendly. I've never had any problem with the projection of the movies either. All in all, if you're looking for a typically less crowded theater that's nice and clean, then this is your place. read more

My last few visits here and this theater has been on top of their game. They have had lots of people taking food orders at the snack bar. Very quick service. I like either tickets ordered online now you don't have to print the tickets any longer. They will scan your barcode off phone at the ticket taker. Very heavy day when I went last and they could have cleaned the bathrooms more often. They were getting heavy use and could have used a once through. I used to love going to this movie theater. My family and I go almost every single Saturday. But lately, it's been a pit. They no longer use the stanchions and rope for purchasing tickets or at concessions and it's a mad-house, every-person-for-themselves, circus! It's clear management doesn't want to be there and doesn't care about their customers concerns. And don't even get me started on the reserved seats! NIGHTMARE! Gone are the days where you could move if a noisy neighbor sat down next to you 5 minutes after the movie started. Or an 6'5" tall person sat in front of you, wearing a cowboy hat but didn't remove it (true story!). Sadly, the last time I went to this theater, a bunch of friends were meeting to watch the movie together, but couldn't sit together because they arrived at different times and couldn't get seats next to each other. My family and I volunteered to move if no one sat in the row in front of us, but behold, people showed up. Regal Corporate - I think you are missing the point of why SOME theaters converted to reserved seating. Those theaters that have big, cushy, reclining seats...those are a premium and people pay more for it, and pay more to reserve the seats. Those theaters that serve meals and alcohol, again, are a premium, people pay more for that, hence, reserved seating. This is particularly in response to a particular event. I've been here many times and usually it's a normal movie-going experience. On the night of January 14, 2015, the night of my birthday, it was a very different experience. It was my 28th birthday. Not exactly a milestone, but they were showing "The Wizard of Oz" and when I was a kid, my favorite birthday was this one where they surprised me with Pizza Hut, an ice cream cake, and "The Wizard of Oz" (which was my favorite movie). I was really looking forward to a recreation of that experience, but I digress. Back to January 14, 2015. My mother knew they were showing the movie and wanted to coordinate everything. We went and bought concessions. Thirty minutes into the film, the power went out. Ten minutes later, a staff member came in to announce that they were closing for the night. It was unknown whether or not there would be another showing. I asked another member and they said to check Fandango. To date, there has been no announcement. Now, I was given comped tickets. I was NOT comped concessions, which I wouldn't have purchased had I not been there and sent home before we could even really dive into said concessions. I'm waiting to see if much else will be done. I do believe more SHOULD be done considering the situation (for those attending a final showing). Outside of that, it's a normal movie theater. Not special, staff who goes through the motions due to being underpaid, restrooms, concessions. Whatever. read more

I'll start with what's good... The seats are comfortable. The concessions are good. The service is quick. Now for mediocre... The sound system. To the average human, it'll sound great most of the time. It's clearly better than a home TV's sound system; however, if you have a surround sound system in your house, it's going to sound similar to that--but with a little extra boom. Personally, that's not worth the $12 tickets, to me. Black bars. If you don't know what I mean by this I suggest you do research, but--simply put--it's the empty space on the edges of the screen. This is normal for TVs, phones, and other LCD/OLED displays and that's not a big deal, because you can't change it; however, in a big theater with a projector, this is something that can easily be fixed. There's no reason for a theater that charges $12 per ticket to have black bars. For some features, the screen will be filled, but others that are shot with an extra wide ratio, or an extra high ratio will be displayed with black bars. My conclusion is that this theater isn't bad. It's pretty average. The reason I'm giving it two stars is because they charge $12 per ticket. It used to be $7 which was a more reasonable price for the quality you get. The only reason I go here to watch films is because I enjoy watching new films with friends and family, and it's the closest theater to us. read more

This location is the best Regal has to offer in the area. If you're a regular moviegoer uninterested in paying premium prices for service the likes of which you'll find at Cinebistro then make a point to see your next film here. Nothing fancy, just good quality. Sound, picture, service, and atmosphere all pass with flying colors. Those local to the area might also relate with another, less corporate factor contributing to the appeal of Westchester Commons Stadium 16. An interesting social divide exists in Midlothian, splitting Regal customers between Commonwealth 20 and this venue. Of the two, the former is inferior in almost every respect. Stadium 16 is new(ish), fresh, and fun. Sure, it lacks IMAX. That said, I can't afford IMAX frequently, which means its omission doesn't warrant a demerit from me. BONUS: Local housing developments are up and coming but still few and far enough between to make this a true destination location. That means kids turn out in lesser numbers than at other, more commercial cinemas. Not many parents are willing to drive out to Westchester and drop their unsupervised children off, only to have to turn around and pick them up two hours later. Basically, if you're a fan of seeing movies without younger, oftentimes ruder patrons crowding up the auditorium, see productions here. It's nothing personal, my young friends; it's just that you tend to distract. In the end, this is a terrific movie theater for the average patron looking for a conventionally enjoyable theater experience. One Percenters might prefer the perks of IMAX, in-movie dining, and similar novelties. However, those of us from the 99% will find equal amounts of joy in an evening at Westchester Stadium 16. read more
