While watching a movie, I had a very scary medical emergency and the ambulance needed to be called. Matt and Alex were extremely professional and acted right away to call 911 for me and were so kind and compassionate throughout the incident. Lobby currently being renovated so will give them a pass on that. Theater and bathrooms were clean. Paid $11, ELEVEN DOLLARS, for a small popcorn and $10 for large soda (which was ridiculously large--wish the staff would have shown me the cup and asked if I was sure). Went a little early figuring I could eat the popcorn while watching trivia, trailers, etc. Nope. Ads started 5 minutes before advertised movie time. Ad after ad after ad. Fifteen minutes of ads. Then the movie? Nope. Next are trailers. Eight trailers. EIGHT! Usually trailers shown appeal to the audience for the movie they are about to see. So for a romance I saw super heroes, violent movies, animated trailers. Maybe just one that would appeal to the audience in attendance. Movie finally started 35 minutes after advertised time. To add insult to injury the movie wasn't even that great! Live and learn. read more

My go to: a very solid B+/A- of a theater. It could be improved by just a little update to amenities, like reclining seats and reserved seating. It has the best selection of movies playing in Williamsburg, always. If it's not playing here, you're going to have to drive at least half an hour out of town to see it. It's a great thing to do indoors, especially on Tuesdays, when movies are heavily discounted with a Regal card. Under $6 is unbeatable. Movies cost too much basically everywhere, but here they have military and student discounts as long as there's no other discount running. Even though Movie Tavern has more food choices, there are plenty of options here too. The location is conveniently around a lot of places to eat and plenty of parking, even if it's not super close. The proximity to Sweet Frog is dangerous but I love it. With all the other NewTown shops, you can make a movie into a full afternoon/night out of walking, talking, and eating. read more

1 Star for cleanliness another star for the friendly and kind staff. It stops there. I have been coming to this theater for years and nothing has changed at all. However there is one new thing. THE STRONG SMELL OF MILDEW AND MOLD (particularly in theatre 12). I'm surprised no one has gotten sick yet. Not to mention some of the food probably has been sitting there for days (hard hot dogs and hard stale bread) Regal corporate really needs to invest in this place because it's in a great location with beautiful surroundings. My lady and I came here on MLK day to see the latest Bad Boys movie, clearly everyone else had the same idea of going to the movies because it was very packed inside the lobby. There was only one kiosk to purchase your tickets from and that line was very line but you can also order your tickets from the concession stand. There were several lines open and I waited on one of the concession stand line while my girl stood on the kiosk line to see who could get tickets first, she made it so I got off my line and grabbed a seat. We caught a 1pm showing and we got there earlier enough to get a good seat in the middle. The seats were comfy and the movie was great. read more

So disappointed. Brought my kids here for a Friday night out. Regal New Town definitely needs to step their game up. 1. Nobody to purchase tickets from out front 2. Concessions service was less than enthusiastic. I felt rushed even though they hadn't finished my transaction. and worst part is they were in a hurry and I had to keep asking for things (ie spoon for the ice cream). 3. Popcorn Was stale/cold 4. Theater smelled horrible....like wet pee. I'm sure it was the humidity but it made sitting Thru the movie less than enjoyable. I couldn't wait to be done with the movie. All in all... paid $75 (tix and concessions) for a pretty less than desirable night. Step it up Regal! read more

This review is mainly for the power outage that occurred on 8/19/19. The power for the whole area went out about 2pm. Nothing the theatre could do about that. About 5 minutes later an employee came into theatre 12 and said if the power didn't come back on in 15 to 20 minutes we would all get a certificate for a free movie to be used at any Regal for any movie. The problem was that about 10 minutes later all of the emergency lights and the exit sign lights went out. This is totally unsafe and should NEVER happen! Everyone did eventually leave the theatre but there were no employees there with a flashlight to make sure the elderly and people with children got out safely. The Fire Marshall needs to review the entire theatre's emergency lights and exit signs. Very dangerous. read more

While in town for graduation, we caught a movie here on what provided to be a very quiet Friday afternoon. We bought our tickets in advance so went right to the ticket taker and were behind the ropes in no time. No line at the snack bar and we were on our way quickly with a large bucket of popcorn. Prices at the snack bar were what you should expect from a movie theater trying to stay in business with lean margins on ticket prices. Surprisingly when queried about the freshness of the popcorn, our server commented that he didn't eat popcorn but that it was made fresh that day. I don't think I could resist eating popcorn working at a theater concession but it must be possible. The dozen or so customers in the large theater all got to pick their favorite seats. The movie was fine, the sound OK, the theater clean and temperature comfortable for our viewing. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary for our visit this day. We would come again the next time we are in town and looking to watch a movie. read more

Terrible experience because of poor management of a problem situation. We are new to the area and went to the Regal New Town on May 30th for a 4:20 PM movie. We arrived early only to sit through 30 minutes of ads and promotions. The movie did not start until 4:50PM; not normal for the industry. We were seated behind two foul-mouthed 20-somethings that would not stop talking. I asked them to "please stop" and the response I received was "go f--- yourself". I thought the proper way to handle this was to summon management. The first manager asked them to quiet down and told me a first warning was necessary before ejection from the theater. The disturbing behavior continued so we went to the lobby and spoke to another higher ranking manager named Jordan about the persistent behavior. His response was "we should have both been ejected from the theater". We then simply left the theater. We will never return to a Regal property. I will tell my family and friends of the incident in hopes they will as well. read more

I like this theater. It is nice, new, clean, and situated at a good location. Located at one end of a huge shopping plaza, I am surprised this place doesn't have more patrons. I am assuming it is because the place is so new because this was a really nice theater. The seats were nice and clean - none of the sticky feeling you get from older theaters - and there was nothing to complain about for the screens and sound. While the theater is only 12 screens, they had all the newest movies and a good selection of times. Outside, the theater is surrounded by various shopping shops and restaurants, some that open quite late like Buffalo Wild Wings. This shopping center could really be something for nightlife here in Williamsburg. read more

Newtown is a really nice shopping area filled with boutiques, eateries, and entertainment. Parking is ample but may require some walking depending on day/time. Get your tix outside and once you hand over your stub inside, head to the concessions. Popcorn. Corn dog minis. Pizza. Hot dogs. Candy to name a few items. The popcorn was hot but the soda lacked carbonation. Switched to Fruit Punch and it tasted watered down. The theater was clean and stadium seating was appreciated. read more

A nice place to watch a movie as far as I am concerned. On vacation, had the itch to see X-Men movie that came out last year and it was worth it (could not wait the 5 days or more till I returned to NYC). Maybe a 30 minute drive from where I stayed but it was something to make a day of it, see the movie then get some ice cream at a local spot nearby. Theater overall was clean and so were the bathrooms. It was a bit slow paced when it came to ordering at the concession stands but I had patience, I was thinking this slow speed would not fly in Union Square with only one person in front of me I happened to be missing the previews. Totally average as far as a general movie theater. But... "Regal Cinemas has a policy prohibiting children under 6 from even entering a rated R movie regardless of who they are with." (In this case their parents) I was informed by a manager that it's the company policy and there's nothing she could do. I'm not the kind of person who would keep a crying child in the theater. One peep and I'm walking out. We only go late so the baby falls asleep right away anyway. Came here with family for a matinee showing of Star Wars. Pleasant experience with the staff. Very patient with me ordering 6 beverages. lol. The days of being able to breeze into this theater 5 minutes before the show begins seem to be over since management closed the box office. Tickets are now purchased at the concession stand. Each transaction (ticket plus concession purchase) takes FOREVER. Today, the theater had two major movies on board ("Harriet" and "Motherless Brooklyn"); I arrived at 12:20 for a 1:00 showing of "Harriet", waited in line for 30 minutes, watched as the only two employees moved at snails' paces, gave up and, as the line simply was not moving, left. I gave the money I would have spent at the movies to the nice folks down the street at "Plow and Hearth". OBTW, with long lines and no ticket takers, folks appear to be skipping the lines and just walking into the auditoriums with no tickets. Movie Tavern, here I come. read more

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this movie theater is! We're visiting Williamsburg on our anniversary, and it started to rain after dinner...and, well, we're camping so to the movies it is! (Besides, I've been waiting on tinder hooks for this movie ever since I saw the previews!) Anyway, I digress. Let me just say that all of the young people working in this theater are polite and super nice-- I mean genuinely NICE, not cloyingly accommodating (or worse, as is often the case). Me and my husband got our tickets and went in the guy that took our ticket wasn't at all friendly and wanted to check my purse I let him and he wanted me to unzip it so I did and moved the stuff around he was really unfriendly about it. my purse is small so it shouldn't have taken as long as it did then when we were getting popcorn there was 3 older ladys behind us with bigger and smaller purses and he did check them. If I could give this movie theater 0 stars, I would. This was the first time I've been to this theater in years and I was shocked by how down hill this theater has gone. The employees are a bunch of young teenagers that know nothing about customer service, work ethic, or keeping the work place presentable and clean. There was trash all over the place, and the restrooms had multiple faucets that were out of order. I watched a staff member sit and talk to his friends while I waited 15+ minutes for a pretzel I was told would be ready in 1 minute. The chairs are uncomfortable and need to be upgraded. To make things worse, the staff forgot to turn down the lights when the movie started and when we had to go remind them they were no where to be found. Regal really needs to come in and evaluate the management staff and overall theater before they end up having to close this location. I will not be going back, ever. read more

This theatre sits in newly constructed New Towne Shopping plaza which is pretty nice and loaded with all sorts of cool restaurants and stores. This theatre looks small on the outside, but contains a bunch of screens and a very large lobby with a very friendly staff. The tickets are sold outside which leaves more room in the lobby for the snack bar. The insides of the theatre is clean and very large, all with stadium seating. Prices aren't bad either. Very close distance to the Colonial area of Williamsburg. read more

This place really has gone down hill. Sitting in the theatre. Broken and squeaky chairs. We were greeted by a kid with zero personality. They way over charge for movies and food. It's like they don't care about their establishment. It's a shame. The other thing I find interesting is IF you buy tickets in advance online they charge you more. A convenience fee. It should be just the opposite as they should encourage people to buy online and save them from having to hire people. read more

There are a few REALLY good perks to Regal, the first being the location. Newtown is packed with restaurants, some shops, a Barnes and Noble, even a comic book store. You can explore Newtown for hours, and definitely if you're just killing time before a movie. Unfortunately, their prices are hefty, which is the reason they only got three stars. There's another movie theater about a mile away that now has most of the same movies but is significantly cheaper. They've also done away with their student discount on certain days, meaning that if you're a student going to a popular movie on the weekend, you'll be paying around 13 dollars for your movie ticket alone. That being said, it's a great setup, the facility is very high quality, and it's a good experience, but I'm not sure it's worth $13.00. read more

Could someone please tell me why my nearly 20 year old girlfriend and her friend were denied to enter the theater to see an R rated movie they already paid for because only 1 of them had their IDs??? Oh and can you tell me why you wont accept William and Mary IDs, is it because there are just too may kids under 16 unrolled in a 4 year university? This was a blatant disgrace and proves why normal people with brains go to AMC. I think you guys will be sh****ng your pants when 5 year-olds get to watch R rated movies when they come out on Netflix 2 months later. Tell your staff to stop trying to be the bad guys and use their cranium and stop taking people's money and then not letting them in the theater. You thought i was done didn't you?
