Went here on a whim to watch the Devil Wears Prada 2. Loved the idea of ordering food/snacks as the movie goes on (much like Alamo). Major downside is that the staff do not duck, walk fast, or communicate properly during the film. I frequent at Alamo and love how discreet their staff are when walking by with and without food on trays. I'd definitely go back here again if there was a film showing here instead of my typical non-delivering theatre. But otherwise I wouldn't go back unless they found better ways to work with the service. Ticket prices are also pretty cheap compared to other theatres, and that is compensated for the cost of their food. read more

Poor Customer Service & Lack of Management Oversight and no sense of accountability or responsibility. My experience at Cinema Cafe Chester was extremely disappointing and reflects a serious decline in customer service and operational standards. We were the first customers to arrive for the Saturday, January 3rd, 5:45 PM showing of David. There was no greeting, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to take our order. Several staff members walked directly in front of us without any sense of urgency or teamwork. At one point, a server bluntly told us that they were "not our server"--with no effort to help or redirect us. After waiting far too long, I had to stand up and personally approach the manager just to receive service. To make matters worse, due to short staffing and poor coordination, the movie started nearly one hour late. This experience shows a complete lack of partnership among staff, poor training, and ineffective management. Customer service should be a priority--especially in a cinema café environment where timing, attentiveness, and professionalism matter. Management needs to step in immediately, retrain employees, and restore basic service standards. As it stands, this cinema's service is deteriorating fast, and customers are paying the price. read more

Visiting Cinema Cafe was my first time in a movie theatre since 2015, so it's safe to say it was very different than my past experiences. We reserved our seats in advance and checked in at the kiosk to receive our tickets. It was easy to locate our seats as the theatre was pretty small. It took a bit of time for our server to pop over since he was inundated with orders, but he was very friendly. I ordered popcorn and pigs in a blanket. It was a lot of food! The ticket prices are the lowest of all theaters I've been to. Ticket prices range between $5-$10 depending on the time of day and whether it's a weekday or weekend. They're cheapest on "Wacky Wednesday." You can't beat the price especially with reclining seats. We've made our way through much of the menu. All the food is pretty reasonably priced and it's comparable to bar food. All the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a button you can push if you need assistance. read more

I've been coming here faithfully for years, so tonight was really disappointing. We came for the 9 PM show, got there early, and ordered right away. My boyfriend and I got our food, but my smoothie never came. We checked on it and were told "it's coming," then 20 minutes later the server finally told us the kitchen was closed so I couldn't get it anymore. What's frustrating is that if we hadn't flagged him down again, nobody would've even told us. Even worse, other people were still getting smoothies right before we were told this. I really enjoy going to Cinema Cafe, but lately there have been a few areas that could use some improvement. Pros: The pricing is affordable, and I appreciate that they send out free movie passes to locals near the theater. Their drinks are always great, they consistently show the latest films, and I love that they offer early screenings. Cons: Unfortunately, the food quality has been hit or miss--often arriving cold. While they recommend arriving early to place orders, the ordering process typically doesn't start until around the same time as before, even for early arrivals, which defeats the purpose. Some of the seats have also been broken and tend to be noisy, which can take away from the experience. That said, the staff are always kind and helpful, and I know many of these issues may be out of their control--they could probably use more support. I'll definitely keep coming back and really hope to see some of these concerns addressed, because this is a theater I truly enjoy. read more

Great time and very nice theatre. I had the best server named Richard. He was so attentive and offered great suggestion from the menu. The seats are very comfortable in that they reclined. They give you enough space between seats so that you are not necessarily touching your neighbors but you still feel a part of the group. I like that it provides a comfortable space for people to gather together and enjoy a great movie. The food came out, hot and fresh and I was delighted. I have to try some different offerings next time but I was glad to try the pizza for the first time. I suggest you come a little bit earlier than the movie time so that you can get your order in and not be interrupted during the movie. Theatre offers assistive technology for individuals who have disabilities. I was able to ask for a close captioning device so that I could enjoy the movie more clearly. PLEASE NOTE: Please fix the closed captioning devices. The arms are flimsy and they don't stay up during the movie. I had to hold the device in my hands the entire time. I've been to Cinema Cafe twice now, and let me tell you--it really depends on when you go. First time was a date night with my husband. The seats? Chef's kiss--super comfy. The food? Surprisingly tasty (not just "good for a theater," but actually good). But... the atmosphere? Yikes. The hallways looked a little rough, and the theater reeked of weed--like someone hotboxed the whole place before the previews even started. Add in a crowd that was loud, rowdy, and seemed to forget they weren't in their living room, and yeah... not exactly the date night vibe we were going for. Fast forward to a weekday matinee and it was a completely different experience. Fewer people, much cleaner, and our server was incredibly kind. Same great seats, same solid food, but without the scent of a dispensary or the chaos of an unsupervised middle school field trip. We have had generally great experiences here. Especially with the sensory friendly movies. That is such a valuable experience! On occasion a staff member does not seem to fit the groove of the cinema and the level of service we expect there but overall it's quite enjoyable. The service was good enough for us but some others may think it was slow based on the number of times you were waited on during the movie. Doors didn't open till 10 mins before show time, took over 30 mins before our order was even taken and another 40 before we got our food...which was subpar...stale bun for a hot dog and the fries tasted like they'd been sitting a while. This is our go-to movie place, mostly because it is the closest to my house. I do like how they have designated people to help bring you your food and take your orders. It is convenient to not have to miss the movie to get up and refill your popcorn like in the good old days. That being said, I sort of wish they had a call button at this theater like they do it some of the other ones, because I have ordered food before and not received it. The food all varies. Sometimes the popcorn is delicious and fresh and other times it taste a bit stale. The chicken tenders are always good, but they also sell out of those faster than some of the other stuff because it is the best item on the menu. The soda is sometimes flat and sometimes good. Nacho cheese is terrible. It's all sort of hit or miss. The theater itself is generally pretty clean and movies cost about what I would expect to pay for the movie. Their matinees are sometimes quite affordable. And I really like the summer movie series for the kids. We will definitely be back, if for no other reason than we like seeing movies and this theater is really conveniently located. read more

I've only been here once and my first time was enjoyable. Their website is a little janky but it functions. I bought tickets online. They're cheaper than other theaters like AMC. The theater is a lot bigger than I thought it would be and it's really nice. I had a lot of trouble scanning my electronic ticket thing so I went through the line and an associate helped me. You can order from your seat, which fully reclines. The food prices were reasonable and the options pretty expansive. The servers were nice, anticipated my needs and partnered well with the kitchen to get everything right. Their popcorn is really good. The drinks were good too! Corn dog nuggets were yummy and the fries were good. Wasn't a huge fan of the tenders but ready to try other things on the menu. Definitely will be back. read more

This was the first time going to a cafe type movie theater. We did not try the food but just got popcorn and drinks. The theater is in a strip mall with plenty of parking and lighting. The building is new and clean. The theaters are nice with reclining seats and swivel tray tables, the screen is large and crisp and the sound is booming. Also, the bathrooms were very clean and in new condition. We can't comment much on crowd distractions and we were two of four people in the theater. The process of reserving and buying tickets online was straightforward. We checked in at the front desk using our email to print our tickets without issue and proceeded to the theater. Unfortunately, the front desk didn't ask if it was our first time and didn't give any information about how the theater worked, so we tracked down an employee and grilled him. He was very pleasant and informative and let us know how everything worked. Turned out, he was also our server! So, after entering, proceed to your seats. A server will greet you and serve you throughout the movie. Just press the red button at the front left or right side of your chair. Be sure to order well in advance, as we found the service to be very slow. I ordered coffee and donut holes and they didn't arrive until about 45+ minutes into the movie. Also, be sure to consider utensils and condiments when you order or you'll be waiting 10-20 minutes for popcorn salt and napkins! IMHO, it's a great theater for a movie! We drove 30+ mins to get there and past two or three other theaters, and would DO IT AGAIN, if that tells you anything. read more

Strolled in on a cool October evening for a scary movie date night, highly recommend seeing Smile if you're into horror movies! This was my first time coming to Cinema Cafe we usually go to Cinebistro but they're temporarily closed Mon-Weds, and since this was a Tuesday, I heard about Cinema Cafe so we decided to check it out! I love the fact that the seats automatically recline with a push of a button, that was a unique feature that I definitely took advantage of! I love the menu options, I mean it's a huuuuge menu and we kinda went a little crazy we ordered drinks (non alcoholic but alcoholic was available) large popcorn, two pizzas, wings and onion rings then dessert was funnel cake fries (Out of this world delicious!) and fried cheesecake that came with ice cream needless to say we took most of it home in a to go box but everything was really good overall. The pizza kinda remind me of what they give you in a school cafeteria, but just ten points better so I'm not sure if I would order that again but it wasn't terrible. Everything was well worth the price which honestly is a lot more reasonable than I thought it would be considering all we ordered. I kinda wish the popcorn was a little warmer but it didn't take away from the fact that it was still really tasty and perfectly buttered we still finished most of the whole bucket. All in all I would for sure come again, the customer service was great and I love the interior of the building, and the eye catching Halloween decorations very on brand for the spooky season! read more

I had never gone to a theater where food is served at your seat before 2/19/26. I always liked the concept though. Because we didn't purchase tickets in advance, we waited until the entire group got there (to make sure we were seated together). With everyone there by 3:15, we bought our tickets for the 4pm movie. My plan was to get there early so food could be ordered and hopefully eaten before the movie started (to avoid eating in the dark). The ticket seller told us we "couldn't" order at the bar (which would have made everything quicker) and had to wait for someone to come to our seat. They wouldn't allow us to sit down because they had not cleaned the theater. That took about 10 minutes. Our waiter told us we "could" have ordered the food at the bar before taking our seats. The waiter informed us they were short of staff. By the time we got our food, the movie had started. I had planned it out where we did not have to interact with servers while the movie was going on. This did not work out. It interrupted the movie experience, having the food brought to us during the movie, paying for it during the movie, and having other servers blocking your view while helping other movie goers. Two of us ordered the buffalo chicken subs, which was supposed to have ranch dressing. There is a red button you can push in order to request help at your seat. No one responded to us having two red lights lit up. Servers came into the theater but ignored our red lights. After waiting about 5 minutes, I finally began calling out to servers when they finished helping other movie goers. My calling servers during the movie may have interfered with others enjoyment. One of us decided to eat our buffalo subs dry without the ranch dressing (because it took so long). I was meet with a bit of sarcasm (from a waitress) when I finally was able to request the ranch dressing. The food was cold. However, the fries arrived warm and perfectly seasoned. I guess the lesson I got from this is order simple foods that don't require much in the order of condiments. I noticed some theaters were bigger than others. Maybe the wait staff spent more time in the larger seating areas. I will give this theater another try though. read more

I've been to alot of dine in theaters and this one wasn't one of the best. Nice cute lil neighborhood theater. I think my expectations were alil high cause In ny the theaters are a bit more fancier and comfortable. Went to see the equalizer 3 which was very good. The seats are ok but had some wear and tear. When the feature actually started I thought that maybe the lights would've got alil dim but they were still kinda bright. The food was mediocre. The peach Long Island was very good I give them that. But the service did take a while and there was alot of movement back and forth in the theater with waiters and waitresses running back and forth all throughout the movie which was distracting. read more
