Today at regatta I had a horrible experience! I called ahead with an order. After picking up the order I realized one thing was missing and another was wrong. I called and the lady on the phone was not very apologetic. She said they ran out of part of the item I ordered so they just didn't include it but no one told me they were out of it!!!! I didn't bring back the wrong item since they can't reuse it anyway. After going all the way back and missing my whole lunch break the lady I spoke with on the phone had an attitude and was very rude. Any other place would have remade the sandwich the way I asked and wouldn't charge me. It was a $50 order!!! I will never go back there. I will choose to go to places with nicer people and better food for the price!!! Regatta is overpriced! read more

I've been going here since the 90's. I've never really had a problem with the food which is usually pretty good. The other day was a different story... A customer 5 people in front of me ordered a few sandwiches and he had been waiting longer than usual. He asked where they were and the old bag behind the counter said "we're really busy back there, how would you like to go back there and make it yourself?" and then rudely said "you'll get it when it's ready". She was very rude and yelling at this guy for no reason. Needless to say that there were at least another 6 people behind me. Another worker told him not to worry and he would get his order out ASAP. When the customer received his food he told the old bag "no need to yell at me, you were being rude and there was no need for it" Well, that set off the fuse for the old bags daughter who then started shouting at him and threatened to follow him outside. First, I didn't get what I ordered. I went back. Long line and didn't want to wait 10 minutes to fuss and longer to get my order right so I ate what they gave me. Got a huge bread roll, couple of small meatballs, maybe, and a 1/2 a sausage. Way too much bread and no substance inside. Seems like a popular place so maybe another try another time. read more

Sucks, highly overrated and doesn't come close to Napoli. Their sandwiches have way TOO much bread. The bread isn't that good either, its soft mushy bread, not the crusty Italian bread I'm familiar with from Philly and Jersey. The last sandwich I got here was a chicken parm. I looked in the sandwich and there was hardly any chicken and the chicken that was there was premade frozen breaded chicken!! I make far better chick parm at home. The other thing the make me give them a bad review, is that they give you attitude. The handful of times I've been here, the service staff is cocky and arrogant. Finally made it to Regatta today. Their Italian grinder (they call it the Regatta Club) is one of the best Italian grinders I've ever had (the former Monte's on W. Main in Northborough had the best, in my opinion), and for CHEAP ($4.50). It was very busy when we arrived shortly after noon, but breezed through the line and took our seats at one of their outdoor tables for two (would have liked indoor seating in A/C on this hot, muggy day, but they have none). 3 stars on this one and it kills me to do so. I've loved this place for years, still do. To be honest I've only had the Regatta and a steak and cheese but both sandwiches were amazing. The Regattas are huge, you could easily split one. I give this place 3 stars because I feel like every time I go I'm ordering from the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. If you don't know how to order or if you want to change a traditional Regatta you pretty much get yelled yet. I've learned my lesson and now they call me "honey" every time I go. But if I was a first timer I would be intimidated which is not a good thing. The traditional Regattas are all pre made which doesn't really bother me but if you want one without tomatoes or with mayo then you're going to have to wait an extra 5 minutes. read more

Just left regatta deli and have to say how appreciative I was that they have decided to stay open and especially at the measures they are taking to keep their customers safe during the corona crisis....they are constantly wiping things down and keeping customers outside and allowing only 1-2 inside at a time. They ask that you call ahead also which is a good idea as well. I have become a recent fan of the Italian sub and when I heard my friends raving about the Regatta, I was excited to try their version of the Italian. The roll was huge but the bread was a little dry. It has some good flavor but I have to say that the meat wasn't anything special. It wasn't a bad sandwich at all, the veggies were fresh but it just lacked the mmmfff that I was expecting and hoping for. They also have pretty poor service. Been coming here since I was a little kid. I remember high school memories of our sports group buying up a cooler's worth of Regatta Clubs to our away races so we'd have lunch. Maybe it's just me but over time, I've noticed that they've put less filling into their signature Regatta Club so I normally get other items which are just as good if not better. I like their meatball sub, steak bomb, breakfast sandwiches and their macaroni salad is one of the best I've had. Overall, this is a great place to get lunch if you happen to be in the nearby area. I have been going to Regatta since I was a kid and today was the worst experience ever there. We called in a pickup charged for 3 sandwiches and drove back to auburn When we got home there was only 2 sandwiches in the bag so I called and the lady put me on hold then came back and asked what my receipt said I read it to her and then all she says is we close in 10 min. I said I am already back in auburn then she replies that they close in 10 min or come Monday when they re open Very short with me and was rude. Never said we are sorry or anything. And obviously didn't care that someone wasn't eating I will never be returning there after this incident especially when I do go out of my way to go there sometimes Awful customer service. I've been going to this place for years when I was a med student. It was nice to visit New England and see that this place has not changed. The regatta club is a solid sandwich. The portions are huge and it comes on Italian bread that isn't dry or flaky. The price of the regatta club is also reasonable, considering that it's enough for two portions. My only warning to newcomers is the service. The workers can be a bit curt (typical Italian Worcester-ites). I pretty much stand out of the way before and after ordering. They are by far the best deli in Worcester. The sandwiches are HUGE!! they are filled to overflowing and you definitely get your money's worth out of this place! Probably would give this place 2 1/2 stars. Its ok, but severely overrated. The regatta Italian club is fine for the price, but not even close to the best Italian in the area. The bread to filling ratio is silly leaving you wanting more. The chicken fajita sandwich is pretty good, and I would say stick with a wrap or pita if you want a reasonable amount of bread. Recently I tried their chicken parm and it was one of the worst I've ever had, chicken was under-fried, bread totally overpowered the sauce, and the cheese was barely melted. Couldn't even get through it. The service is not as bad as other people had said, they just want to put out sandwiches as quickly as possible. If you don't know what you are doing it can be a bit intimidating. I suggest looking at Belsito's or Napoli for a better sub. read more

We were recommended to try this local favorite during a weekend trip to the Worcester area. This was a quaint little deli, and I was impressed by the all the different subs they offered and the array of cooked foods (pastas etc), chips, salads, etc. I tried the famous Regatta Italian sub, and it was a whole lot of sandwich for about $6! While I thought it was quite tasty for the price, the pre-made sandwich was a little dry and I think would have been even better with a little dressing/ mayo. Maybe I should have asked for something on the side? I'm not quite sure how most people order the sandwich, but altogether it was pretty good and my very hungry boyfriend practically ate my entire sandwich. We also tried the eggplant parm sub which was also good, but not the best I've had. What was good was the thick cut of eggplant with the melted cheese- - which was the best part of the sandwich. The sauce was ok (a little thin and oily, tasted more like ketchup than marinara!), but altogether was a solid hunk of a sandwich. We shared these two sandwiches with a side of chips and soda- - which actually was the highlight of my lunch. (I'm a potato chip lover!!) Overall, I thought this was a nice deli. I wasn't wowed by this first experience, but I definitely want to try more. The price is right, it's local, and you get a whole lot of food- - so I will definitely try a few more sandwiches and let you know how it goes! read more
