One of my cravings when i come to Worcester! I love regatta deli. Their subs are yummy and so filling! This thing is huge!

    Loaded Regatta with hots

The pando and inflation is definitely caused regatta to raise their prices but I feel like it's comparable to any other lunch spot. I've seen people complain about the amount of bread they get with their sandwich. It's definitely a beefy, dense roll but it's a regatta. I enjoy the beard they use for their sandwiches. It gets packed during lunch and the service area can get crowded but the staff does a great job of getting your order in quickly. You place your order first and pay once it's ready. They sometimes have table outside but this is definitely a grab and go type of place. They have an option to call ahead to place your order which I recommend for larger orders. If you want to be quick order the standard regatta (Italian) I recommend the loaded regatta with hots if you want a more substantial sandwich with hots. It costs a few dollars more but worth it. I end up cutting it in half and saving some for later. It's a massive sandwich. Don't sleep on the max or potato salads. I've also ordered the steak and cheese with onions, mushrooms and peppers. The bread definitely hold up to those fillings. I know I need to try more options but I'm stubborn and really enjoy my Italian sandos.

    Kibbee pocket

A good local deli with consistently good sandwiches. Their bread is pretty fresh and there's typically an appropriate filling to bread ratio. I personally prefer the hot sandwiches like the meatball/sausage combo, chicken or eggplant parm, and kibbee pocket. The staff inside are pretty friendly as well and efficient. I recommend if you're coming in for a quick bite.

Sad. This place used to be so good back in the day went in today during lunch to pick up the famous regatta and I took a few bites and threw it out. I just got the tomato top in my sandwich if you're gonna cut the top of the tomato and put it in at least add in a couple of tomatoes. Very dry too. I guess they went downhill, rather go to bushel and peck for a cold sub...

Veggie sub (had requested no pickles or onions but they left off the cucumber, green pepper, and banana pepper)

I used to absolutely love this place, but this is now the 3rd time I've gotten a veggie sub and not had the listed veg in it. I asked for no onion or pickles but they then also left out the cucumber, green pepper, and banana pepper. Def wouldn't have signed up for a roll with shredded iceberg lettuce and thin sliced tomato only.

    Steak Bomb

Y-U-M! I have been walking/riding by this deli for over two years now and have just managed to stop in for a grinder--boy oh boy did it not disappoint! I was feeling a hearty sandwich for lunch and decided on the steak bomb. Honestly, it was one of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had in while. The steak was sooooooo juicy and well seasoned; the bread was toasted yet fluffy, loads of cheese and they certainly did not skimp on the veggies. Probably could have split the sandwich for two meals but I ate half and immediately dove back in for more. I called in my order and picked up up ~15 minutes later; the staff promptly greeted me and retrieved my order while juggling the many other customers since I visited during peak lunch time. My sandwich was excellent and I was pleased with the service, but the interior is a bit dark drab and I likely wouldn't ever opt to eat in, but I will certainly return again and again for another grinder to go!

    Deli!!! Delish!!

Regatta is ok. I love their meatballs and potato salad, but when it comes to their sandwhiches there is just too much bread.

Positively nothing disappoints. Ever. I can make a dozen recommendations but truly no matter what you get it will not let you down or leave you hungry. Gets crazy for lunch and can be wild on the weekend for pizza but it's 10000000% worth the trouble to get here and the wait. Service is wonderful and if you have the time to sit in and have a meal, do try to. It's very small, very casual and feels like having the best lunch you ever had at your aunties house. As mentioned it's rarely quiet in there so take out is best overall. I recommend calling ahead for sliced deli meats or things like that as they really appreciate that. If you ever see the cherry cobbler in the fridge do not skip it - you'll regret that. Here's the inside tip - there is not a better Caesar salad with chicken this side of the Mississippi. Dead serious about that !!! They have my business for life and possibly beyond. I'll be haunting the place for arancini balls as a ghost.

When I finally got with the subs the bread was going stale, there was barely any meats or cheese on it. My wife's ham and cheese was way more cheese than ham - and the pickles she was upcharged for were missing until she found them all piled in one section of the sub. Really no clue this was always a good place, but if I have to go out of the way to get this quality it's not worth it.

A menu board is posted over the order counter and two soft drink coolers to choose a bottled beverage from are next to the cashier. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. There are a lot of sauces you can add to your sandwich if the menu doesn't specify what condiments are included. You can also make your sandwich a 'platter' if you want to add fries, onion rings and coleslaw to your sandwich. I ordered the roast beef and asked for horse radish sauce. There was a *lot* of sauce on this sandwich. So much so, that was all I could really taste so I'm not sure if I actually like their roast beef or not. I should have asked if I could get it 'on the side' I suppose. Live and learn. From what I could see under the sauce, the roast beef is cooked very rare. It was difficult to chew through and with all that sauce it made for a very messy meal. We ate in their dining room which is a small, pleasant space with lots of old photos of Worcester. The napkins available at the table are kind of useless. They smear the mess, they don't mop it up. I used a LOT of napkins trying to keep tidy while eating my sandwich. The fries were very good when hot. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. The coleslaw was almost without flavor. Salt and pepper are on the table. You're going to want those. Just watch that salt shaker, it comes out FAST! There is one restroom for all guests at the back, past the kitchen. It's clean and in good working condition.

This time, I took advantage of their vegetarian signatures section which was very much appreciated for my dietary preferences. Ain't nobody got time to wade through an entire menu to find something they can eat. I ultimately settled on the grilled veggie pocket and requested, IN ALL CAPS FOR EMPHASIS, no onions and mushrooms PLEASE. We also ordered their mac and cheese to share. I'll start with the good. The mac and cheese was DELICIOUS. It's covered in breadcrumbs and croutons, which is an interesting addition. The sauce is creamy and the noodles were a touch al dente. It was just as good when we warmed up the leftovers the following day. Unfortunately they completely disregarded my request for no onions or mushrooms. If they were unable to do that because the mix is pre-made, which is actually kinda gross as I imagine refrigeration is required and this defeats the purpose of "grilled", they could have done what other places have done which is CALL ME. What if I had an anaphylactic allergy? Fortunately, I don't, but was faced with the decision point of either just not having anything to eat other than a shared portion of mac and cheese or ripping through the pita and sifting through each of the vegetables individually to remove the onions and mushrooms which was EXCRUCIATING to do because the onions were tiny strips. Sigh. There was also no other component besides grilled veggies in a sauce in a pita and the bottom of the pita was soggy. Fuck this place. I will never order from here again.
