Seriously genuine Italian casual dining made with love, I ordered the Chicken Picatta with the homemade cavatelli, and my goodness, everything was so on point. The sauce gave distinct notes of butter, lemon, and white wine without heaviness or richness, to the point where my whole plate somehow disappeared into my belly despite it being the size of my face. Finished my meal with peach cobbler and gelato made by the manager's aunt, delightful and fresh, and close attention was paid to my allergy request. Food was amazing, but that's only half of why I'll be back probably later in the week. My mom and I were welcomed with friendliness and genuine conversation by the manager/owner, and throughout the meal, were treated with warmth and kindness that reminded me of past family gatherings with Italian relatives I see now only for weddings and funerals. A little slice of home here in Mass was just what I needed to refresh my heart and mind after a long day of work, very grateful for such a lovely evening, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. We saw some good reviews for La Cucina Italiana so we thought we'd give them a try. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall, but it's very spacious and nicely decorated inside. They have a lot of tables but are spacing out the seating to be covid safe. I had read they were BYOB, so my partner brought a small cooler with a couple bottles of beer to have with his dinner. My partner ordered one of the dinner specials which was Seafood Marinara (23.95), I was going to order eggplant parmigiana until I overheard someone saying they have the best veal parmigiana, so I switched to veal (19.95) We also ordered a house salad (4.95)and a Caesar salad (5.95). Our salads arrived and my partners house salad looked great and he said it was delicious and tasted very fresh. My Caesar salad looked delicious, but unfortunately it wasn't real Caesar dressing (creamy), it tasted like Marzettis low fat Caesar dressing from a bottle, but it was fresh. Our meals arrived and looked delicious, but we quickly noticed my partners seafood marinara was very small. As my partner was eating his meal he noted he hadn't found any scallops yet (his favorite part) and he ended up never finding any, but it was delicious nonetheless. My veal parmigiana was delicious and there was plenty so my partner was able to finish his meal by eating some of mine. We enjoyed our meal and BYOB was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was fine as well as the service. But, overall I think it was expensive as most restaurants would serve the salad as part of the meal. The food was delicious but the service was slow. When the bill came, they said they were no longer honoring gift cards because ownership had changed. The gift card was a birthday gift and there were no signs saying that was the case. I spent $90 for myself, my son and his girlfriend. I could have gone anywhere else for much cheaper! Went here about a year ago with friends, food good, service horrible. All workers to worried about the work schedule vs their customers. Tried it again last night because I heard they have owners and it was worse. I believe same staff still, asked for cheese melted on fish, they wouldn't do that; staff again more interested in each other, when their next shift was and who they were working with. When our meals came out, waitress went to two tables before asking who the food was for ( there were only a total of 6 tables filled, 2 customers hadn't ordered yet and one was paying their bill). Guess I was lucky there wasn't more people. Food was okay, very small portion of fish for $22 meal. Waited on waitress for check, I finally got up and interrupted the schedule conversation so I could pay and leave. I wanted so bad to have a great meal to support a small business but they clearly are not interested. read more

Went for a birthday dinner with my son and his wife and daughter. She had chicken Parmesan, which I tasted and was perfect. My son had a chicken and shrimp Alfredo, which was more than even he could eat. I went with spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. Loved the sauce and I also took some home with me. Last night I was at a pizza place in Wakefield that received a 7.7 from One Bite, which is a pretty good score. If you're above 8 you're special. All I could think about was how the sauce was flat, which brings me to reviewing La Cucina. I've had their lasagna twice (enough for two meals if you don't overeat) and my daughter had linguine and meatballs with the same sauce. The sauce is outstanding, with the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. All the years of eating Italian food and this sauce is the best to date. So....I just checked their menu and.....of course they have pizza (!) , which wil be my next order there. Can't wait! P.S. If you want to increase business maybe put a take out menu in take out orders. I had to ask for one and then a guy walked over to a table away from the register to get one for me since my hands were full. P.S.S. The little piece of bread you give (must dip in sauce!) with orders could be improved. Need more! Knowing this the second time around we did order garlic bread but next time I'm more likely to just pull a lot more Italian bread from my freezer. read more

The service was beyond outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious, and I've been to Italy three times! The homemade pasta was like being in Roma, and the dessert did not disappoint. We sat in the main entrance area, but I believe there is a larger section for parties, etc. We will definitely be going back. read more

The pizza is so authentic, I hope you like think airy crust. Side of Meatballs that are are so tender, and the chicken parm is pound to the perfect portion #leftovers! More than I could eat but looking forward to having it for breakfast! Prices are so reasonable, and oh yea... BYOB ;) The waitress seemed a little confused about 86 items and who has what table. After our basketball tournament ended, we decided to get some lunch and based on location and Yelp reviews, came here. There is a restaurant side and a deli side, we chose to sit on the deli side because it looked comfortable. There was a TV playing an old western movie, which was amusing to my daughter. Out hostess was super nice, attentive and made sure we felt right at home. We ordered the traditional meatball sandwich, cheese pizza and garlic bread to see what this well reviewed place had to offer. The garlic bread was tasty and seasoned just right. Not too much and not too little. They have good Italian bread here as well. There was a nice fresh tomato basil dipping sauce with it as well that was tasty, if not a little watery. The meatball sandwich was good. Tasty, but average meatballs in that same bright tomato sauce on really good bread. Toasted was definitely the way to go, as it was done exactly right. A perfect sized sandwich as well. The pizza was much larger than I was expecting for the price. Thin, crisp crust, cooked perfectly. A variety of cheeses and herbs were evident on top. There was a decided lack of sauce (we asked for extra) though the watery sauce base may have made that impossible. It is a tasty and filling pie, those who enjoy eating the outside crust may enjoy it more than those who don't. It's buttery and herby. There is a lot of cornmeal underneath it as well. Overall, as my daughter said, this is the definition of a 3.5 star place. Better than average because of the service, prices and some of the food, but lacking in some important places that would have made it a slam dunk 4. If I could say 3.5 that would be correct. It's a decent place to have lunch, and I bet the dinners are very good as well. I passed by the restaurant section and I saw some really delicious looking and smelling plates. I would definitely come back for some chicken parm if I could. I should have done that, perhaps. Anyway, you won't go wrong here. Give it a try. read more

Hard to say something good. Chicken marsala was unrecognizable as chicken marsala ; everything was cut into little pieces and with practically no marsala taste. Great little spot in a seemingly quiet area of the otherwise loud Worcester, Mass. Went here for lunch with a friend who goes to college there. We wanted traditional Italian fare, and boy did we get it! I have chicken parm and a Ceasar salad. The salad was moist, but not soggy, the dressing was creamy, but not too thick, and the bread basket was refilled at our leisure. The chicken parm was a large portion, a little salty, but overall very tasty. In addition to the food, they had a private parking lot! ***Updating to 5 stars after 2nd takeout. Incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband got meatballs this time and holy cow they were good. I dare say the best I've ever had. No bready filler taste. Just meatball goodness. Once again they were incredibly friendly and kind when my husband picked up. That alone makes the place great. Can't wait to try their pizza still! What a hidden gem! I tried this based on yelp bc I wanted some some old school chicken parm. I was a bit nervous that it would be a family place that if you ordered during a slow time they would seem annoyed or bothered. Ive had that happen a few times at other places. Not the case at all. In fact when my husband was walking in a large group was walking out all smiles. They seemed to have really enjoyed themselves. My husband was greeted warmly when he went in. We ordered garlic bread with mozzarella, large house salad and chicken parm. Garlic bread was soft, chewy with a nice toast. The salad was super fresh with homemade croutons. The dressing was homemade and you could tell they used good olive o. The chicken parm was great. Not as big of a portion as some places but plenty for my husband and I to split. I looked for a different place to take my 95 year old mother in law (MIL) for dinner and we were not disappointed in our choice. It is located in a small strip mall with easy handicapped parking. The place was warm and very family oriented. My mother in law brought her wine as it is BYOB and were immediately provided with a nice glass. The staff was friendly and happy. We ordered a sausage, onion & pepper pizza which came out very hot & full of flavor. With every bite my MIL said this is the best pizza she ever had (I'm sure in 95 years she has tried plenty). I had to agree as each large slice was full of toppings. My MIL has already asked to go back as she wants to try their Italian dishes. read more

I used to order from here quite often but lately their take out has been tremendously slacking. The last 4 orders I got as take out has been entirely underwhelming which is very disappointing considering this used to be my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. My last order was a seafood melody sort of dish which included rice mixed with sauce and an assortment of sea food. The rice was noticeably undercooked. They include ONE small piece of lobster, ONE piece of shrimp, a few scallops and much more clams than anything else. I also ordered mussels once and had to throw them away because they had gone bad. I also ordered a lobster Alfredo dish and they were skimpy on the lobster. I just wish they went back to the quality they used to have. I used to recommend the restaurant to all my friends but I have had to tell them to stop going for a few months now. read more

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Worcester. The food is always on point, fresh, and serves hot. Never any microwave meals here, everything is made from scratch, including the salad which is served at room temperature, not refridgerated all day. It's very sad to post a two-star review on a restaurant that has such delicious food. We've been going there since they were on Hamilton Street and never have been disappointed with the food. It's always fresh and never disappoints. The service however is absolutely horrible. Whether you dine in or do take out it's equally disappointing. This service was much better on Hamilton Street. I don't know what the deal is, but nobody in there seems to care about the customer. They give you attitude, and don't make you feel welcome and make you feel like you're putting them out if you ask for a wine glass or a bottle opener or the bread they forgot to bring to the table. They do not accommodate customers and probably are one of the worst customer service experiences you'll ever imagine. read more

The smell when you walk in is unbelievable. It smells SO good. We went on a really cold winter night. Perfect place for warming, filling comfort food. Warm and family-friendly interior. Super pleasant and low-key staff. We order the calamari. Delicious! Lightly floured and served with marinara and lemon wedges. (They also offer a fried calamari Caesar salad which sounds incredible.) Meatballs are GIANT, soft, and tasty. Made with mix of beef and pork. Also ordered the pork chop. 2 chops, well-prepared and heavily garliced veggies, and excellent homemade mash potatoes. Chops were a bit overcooked for me, and not served with the homemade applesauce listed on the menu, but otherwise good. We will definitely be back to try the pizza. read more

Service needs improvement. Didn't feel welcome from the moment I walked in the door. The bus boy who seated me had headphones in, could care less about seating us. Food mediocre at best. Ordered an antipasto, didn't have any provolone cheese on it, though menu said it did. Proceeded to order fried calamari, it came delivered to the table burnt to a crisp. Sent it back, the waitress brought back a bigger portion with a hair in it. The we ordered an italian grinder with fries. That was decent. Was afraid to ask for ketchup since we had sent back the calamari. Would not visit this establishment again. Very disappointing. read more

This restaurant exceeds my expectations every time we eat here. All the ingredients are fresh and homemade which means you never feel gross or bloated after eating here. Entrees: I've had the chicken parm and it's incredible. Just a solid place for Italian Take-out. Subs: got a chicken Parmesan sub as I left for a road trip. I thought it would be messy eating ona. Passenger seat but the food here is so good I took the risk. The sub bread was so fresh that it soaked up all the sauce and flavor, not a drop or crumb fell out.
