Here are some words that come to mind when I think of the space: chic, vintage, intentional, beautiful, versatile and lovely. Amanda, the owner, was great from the start. Patient, kind and helpful. Her experience was evident throughout our entire planning process. She worked with us to up to the very end, easing our little anxieties and assisting us with whatever we needed. The staff at Queen Anne's was amazing! We were so pleased with the above and beyond service. A room flip was needed after the ceremony, for the reception. It was done in a timely, efficient fashion, and for that, we (and our guests), were so grateful. Food was exactly what we expected- and delicious. We opted for food stations, rather than a formal sit-down dinner. Appetizer platters, salad, sliders and pizza. Everything was fantastic. No complaints from us or our guests. We had a blast! The cocktail hour then opened up and was just as delicious and beautiful. The bride and groom both had specialty drinks. The hor'dourves were delicious, and the view spectacular! There were quite a few people at this wedding, but the dance floor was giant and nobody was dancing on top of each other! The DJ was awesome (wish I got his name), and kept the dance floor busy all night. There were plenty of servers, everyone was friendly and helpful. The wedding party and family members had room at the Ocean Cliff, and had nothing but good things to say. Worth every penny to be sitting in that igloo right on the water! They are all decorated so beautifully! We were right in the neighborhood & hungry when a bell went off in my head - "Let's finally try The Reef". Upon approaching, the first thing I noticed was parking. Such a rarity in this neighborhood to find free parking! We made a mental note to remember this. It was a bit early for the tourist season & for dinner time, so we were seated quickly. The dining room continued to fill & liven up during our visit. A private party filled the bar area as well. What a gorgeous spot on the water! I imagine the sunset views from here are fabulous and the tent and patios on the dock must be wonderful on a nice, summer day. Our waiter ( Vincent maybe? ), promptly welcomed us & remained attentive & helpful through our visit. When asked for a recommendation, he immediately went into a thorough description of the items & helped our decision. The first thing that I noticed was that the prices on the menu were, in many cases, much different than what was shown on the website. I always peruse online menus before hand and I quickly noticed that the entrée I had been considering, the Black Cod, was a full $10 more than what showed online. It is inexcusable for a large restaurant company like Hertiage to have incorrect or outdated menu information on their property websites. We ordered that Black Cod & the Short Rib ( which is now served with mashed potato - not polenta as shown on the website ). The first thing I noticed when it quickly arrived was the portion size. A small piece of fish, maybe four or five ounces, sat atop a cup of rice and a few thin asparagus spears. It almost appeared to be an appetizer, not a main dish. The short rib was a heartier portion & certainly more fulfilling. My partner was happy with the beef, although the sauce was oddly VERY smoky, almost tasting like too much smoke flavoring had been added. If there was a deep, beefy flavor typical or a demi, it was completely overwhelmed by the smokiness. The flavor of the fish was even more disappointing. While it certanly didn't taste spoiled, it had very little flavor from the glaze & a strong fishy-ness. When I discoved that the bottom of the filet still had a silver skin layer, I removed it and the fish flavor improved but the dish remained very bland. I ate it but found it just "meh" & left still hungry, despite not having a huge appetite arriving. I think we will try it again. Perhaps for a brunch on the patio on a nice summer day. The pasta dishes I saw going by looked better and, you certainly can't beat the location.

The Meeting Place was hosting musician Big John Short and a small crowd of happy onlookers. We decided to check out the event and were welcomed in right away. Once we sat down, we were asked what we wanted to drink. Wine and beer were brought over, and when we reached for our wallets we were told, "the drinks are on us - just tip the musician!" WHAT?! How great is that? The vibe of the Meeting Place was so welcoming, fun, and alive. Everybody knew that they were witnessing something wonderful in both our hosts and the musician. Eventually, seats were cleared away and a dance floor opened up, bringing a room full of strangers together in foot-stomping, arm-swinging dancing. We were all laughing, sweating, and having one of the best nights, ever. Music stopped at 11:30 due to ordinance rules, and we made sure to make every last minute count. A few of us hung out once the music ended to chat with the owner and staff, who were, as expected, awesome human beings. This place is a great addition to the fabric of Newport and I'll be singing its praises to everyone I meet. Check them out for live music (I think on Friday and Saturday nights) and any other need you have for an event space!!!

Newport Experience mailed me my tickets so that I wouldnt have to pick them up, they were very informative and I was so excited to have won tickets, first time I ever won anything! $55 value for the experience. Since the sun sets earlier in September, the sail was before dinner. It was a gorgeous evening and the Aurora Schooner was filled. It's BYOB on the sailboat but not for dinner. We sailed for about and hour and a half. We were then directed to assigned seating for dinner. We were seated with 2 very fun couples in the middle of the room. As you can see in my picture, the lobster and clams were amazing. Particularly the roasted potatoes that came in the dish were surprisingly very good and 2 people commented on them. Corn on the cob and melted butter.I couldnt have asked for a better experience! My date and I shared a bottle of wine on the sailboat, and had another round with dinner. Lots of laughs at the table and service was great. Amazing view, drinks and a full belly. What more can I have asked for! Thanks to the staff at the Newport Experience for picking me!
