The combination of the packages and the great staff at the Squantum Association make it a relatively low stress wedding option. Having the food & beverages, table settings, seating, linens and ceremony all managed by one entity streamlined the planning process. We were completely satisfied with how each of those areas was managed. The indoor speaker system was also excellent and allowed us to successfully use a playlist rather than get a DJ or band. There was also a good amount of flexibility within the planning process to customize what we wanted, while still having a good outline of the flow and recommendations when we weren't sure about something. Justine did a great job making sure everything went smoothly, and during the event I needed to ask other staff members for a couple things and they were all super helpful. A lot of our guests commented on how beautiful the location was, and that the food was really good. We wouldn't have changed anything. read more

Cutting to the chase: to those who are decision makers/advisers regarding any private functions to be had had the Squantum - you are all short-sighted scumbags who probably are aglow by being shrewd and extremely selfish in your decision making capabilities (or lack thereof). Due to an extreme "life or death" medical situation, we had to cancel a wedding reception way in advance of its projected time.. All we received back from these vultures was the middle finger and a credit that we could use for a future function if we so desired. Emailed a so-called member to see if he could help in returning all of a monies we paid. He was a useless dirtbag as well - an East Providence Insurance agent. FOLKS - please read the fine print if you're planning on any sort of function there. Seriously. we were screwed out of $2,500 dollars. read more

Attended a Christmas party here last weekend. Beautiful location and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The food was average, we had a buffet. Bar drinks were inexpensive. Live band for the party was nice. read more

I was completely blown away by the Squantum Association. This place was simply stunning, perhaps the most beautiful location for any wedding I have ever attended. A friend in Providence told me that people tend to overlook Squantum because it is located in East Providence in favor of ritzier locales. If that is the truth, it is a shame to think of what people are missing. Honestly, words cannot do this place justice. If you are looking for a venue to host your wedding and/or reception please do yourself the favor of visiting the Squantum Association. I called the Squantum Association to get information on a wedding for a year in advance. I was referred to the general manager who first seemed very nice. But when he immediately asked how many people would attend and I said about fifty his tone turned icy. "Please go online for information about a wedding of this size. You must also be aware there is a $10,000 minimum." I asked if we could come in for a tour and he said "Choose from our menu and make sure it adds up to $10,000 first" I asked him, is this wedding size too small for your facility? Should we look elsewhere? He said "No not as long the minimum of $10,000 is paid in advance you can get married here. Go read the payment plans on our website first." I did so and then had a few questions but his secretary said he was unavailable and transferred me to his answering machine. I called him twice but he din't return my calls. I cannot say enough amazing things about the Squantum Club! I had my wedding here back in 2009 and people are still talking about how wonderful it was. Everything from the view, to the location (very convinient to get to), to the food (absolutely delicious) was just perfect. Corentin, the manager there, is really on the ball. He made sure that everything went off without a hitch! He was super receptive to any of my questions and always got back to me very promptly. One of my favorite things about dealing with the Squantum Club was how flexible they were. Although there were packages, we were able to customize everything to make it special. I searched many locations for my wedding (from downtown locations to mansions in Bristol and Newport) but Squantum won my heart as soon as I walked in. I have wonderful memories of this place and went back again for an event this week and was stunned again at how beautiful this place is. read more

We had our wedding at the Squantum Association this past June, and they were absolutely incredible. The venue is really special, right on the water, with too many beautiful locations for photographs to choose from. You have two little beaches, the water, a rock path leading to an island, the gorgeous architecture of the clubhouse, a dock, bridges and tons of greenery and beautiful landscaping to take pictures in front of. There were even a pair of swans hanging out in the water the day of the event. Once we chose the venue, although things started off a bit rocky (we were a little disappointed when we found out we wouldn't be able to have fireworks at the event) they went WAY above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of. The actual event could not have been more perfect, and it was in no small part due to the efforts of the staff and the management team at Squantum. Jon is super friendly, reasonable, easy to work with, and I really felt like he cared about making sure we were happy and wanting to work with us. On the day of the wedding, Lauren was incredibly attentive. Anything and everything we needed, she was there within seconds, making sure we had drinks or food, setting up champagne in our room while we were getting ready, and she worked really well with our wedding planner to make sure the event went smoothly. I don't think we were the easiest of clients (I probably sent Lauren 20-30 emails the month or two before the event) but she was responsive and accommodating every time. The food was FANTASTIC. Wedding food can be hit or miss sometimes, but so many of our guests came up to us after dinner to comment on how delicious everything was. The chicken was moist, the steak was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were tender without being overcooked or soggy, and that level of quality and execution carried throughout the apps, the dessert bar and the late night snacks. We were blown away by the quality. Overall the day was perfect and we were completely thrilled with the venue and the staff and team. I could not recommend the venue more highly if you're looking for a stellar experience in a gorgeous location. read more

I held my wedding reception at Squantum in September 2009. I really have no complaints - the food was amazing, the service was great, my guests loved the view and atmosphere. The coordinator was friendly and answered any questions within 24 hours. One complaint - there was a little confusion with the bar, and one guest woke up to a $400 charge on their debit card. When she called the bar she was told that someone had purchased a bottle of champagne on her tab. When she asked for the receipt for the champagne she was told no such bottle was ever sold. It was settled, but still was unnecessary confusion. read more

This place is not open to the public. I recently worked at a charity event that was held at Squantum over two nights. The food and service were both 5-star. What makes this truly 5-star venue is that fact that they were completely at capacity for the charity event, and still the service and food were phenomenal. The location is absolutely stunning, right on the ocean. It was a very hot day and I was in a suit and tie, and the AC kept the perfect temperature across the entire place. While this place looks like it's a hundred years old, it's been modernized with new bathrooms and AC, etc. Also worth mentioning this place didn't take on the stuffy conceited country club attitude. The staff and management were humble and helpful to me even though I wasn't on the guest list. The one challenge to be careful of is parking. Because the location is literally on the waterfront, parking can be a challenge. While completely handicap accessible, the parking is located about 300 feet from the entrance. The nights I was there they had a golf cart shuttling people between the parking area and the front door. They do have a few handicap spots near the front door. This place is a hidden and private gem. If you have the chance to attend an event here, go for it. read more

I have been trying to set up an appointment with the Squantum Association to host a wedding and have been disappointed with their customer service. I reached out 12 days ago and still have not been able to schedule an appointment with them. When I provided my information on the website I received an email confirming my information provided. I responded the same day requesting an appointment. 7 days later after no response I emailed the lady again. She replied and asked for my availability for the following week. I provided my availability as requested but she responded with dates that were outside the parameters that she requested. After providing my availability again, it has now been 5 days with still no reply. In this 2 week period I have been able to see and meet with 2 other venues. It's really unfortunate as I like this venue, but it may be very difficult working with them if this is how they communicate with clients. read more

It is the most elegant location for a special event you have never heard of. Situated on a remote point overlooking the bay, with a panoramic view that includes downtown Providence, the Squantum Association is a model of historic turn-of-the-century elegance. Although the business function I attended served only appetizers, they were spectacular and included some of the best crab cakes in the northeast. read more

This is such a lovely and historic building beautiful grounds located near the water. I have attended weddings here and social functions. it's such a delight lots with lots of parking and over-the-top charm and ambience it's a lovely venue I always enjoy going to there. read more
