Bathroom that is advertised vs. what we ended up with

The pictures of the junior king suite on booking.com, yelp and Facebook don't accurately depict what I ended up with. I took some side by sides so that people can make a decision to book based off of the pictures I took next to what is advertised. The place was clean but not at all what I was expecting. We booked a Junior king suite because I wanted a vacation that closely resembled what was in the pictures. It was not. The floors were carpeted and sloped. Ceilings were low. The air conditioner was not working. Fridge was not cold. Water pressure in bath was low. The beach was not directly on the property. You had to walk a bit. *Google earth it before coming to see the distance. I did not complain to management. We made the best of it.

What a find!!! Small (14 guest rooms) gorgeous (old on the outside euro modern coolness decor on the inside) hotel in beautiful Little Compton. Perfect place to unwind with friends or family, even better, perfect place to not be found. Corey the innkeeper is a treasure, accommodating and made our short stay memorable. Views to die for, great walks. Perfect place to do absolutely nothing.

Beautiful, quaint sea-side resort brimming with New England charm. Stayed in the Plover Room in The Wood Barn. The Wood Barn looks like a barn on the outside, but inside the stairwell and hallway has an industrial and sterile feel. A bit odd that the décor doesn't match up, but fine since the room itself was tranquil and comfortable. King bed. Gas fireplace. Kitchen area. Huge bathroom with a rain shower and Japanese deep soaking tub--amazing! Just heads up, it's deep but a square tub, so no sprawling out in this, but what a soak! Balcony, but not much of a view with an event tent (wedding) set up on the lawn below. Head up for summer visitors, there is a window air conditioner and it was very loud. Complimentarily breakfast in the Stone House from 7:30am-9:30am: muffins, pastries, dry cereal, fresh fruit, tea/coffee/juice. Baked goods from nearby bakeries. Did not dine at the Taproom. Went into Tiverton and Newport for lunch/dinner. Absolutely beautiful surrounding area. Very rural but some cool things to do nearby: Vineyard and Tiverton Main Street with a few shops, art galleries, yoga studios and places to eat about 10-15 minutes away. Newport is a good 45 minutes away depending on traffic. Staff here is friendly and accommodating. Everyone was happy to help and we felt very welcomed and comfortable. I loved staying here. Quiet, peaceful get-away and cannot wait to come back!

This was literally the best customer service experience of our lives. We had a wonderful stay at the stone house. We stayed for 3 days. It was an unexpected stay after an 'air B and B' disaster. There is complimentary continental breakfast and evening bites. Both delicious! The staff were out of this world. The Inn keeper spent time out of his day to throw the frisbee and play games with the kids on the lawn. Isobel called her contacts to get me out on the local private golf course. She also called the public courses in Newport and got me a tee time there too. I didn't ask her to do this but she knew our 'air B and B' host had cancelled my golf at short notice. She was exceptional at her job and very proactive and motivated. She went out of her way to help my mum, wife and children daily. The chamber maid, made scrambled eggs for our baby, before her work shift started, as he wasn't feeling well and she does this for her kids. She did a great job on the room also. The night time receptionist showed a lot of empathy on checkin after our bad experience in the private house and went out of his way to make life easy for us. He set up the pack and play even though I told him I've done it hundreds of times before. We stayed in 'Henry',which was two rooms adjoining, so we could be next to my mum and she could help watch the kids. The bath tub in Henry B was wonderful. The rooms were so nice. He felt incredibly comfortable there and had so much space. I literally can't say enough great things about this place. This was a 10/10 perfect stay. We loved everything about this place. Private beach down the road is stunning. Angela's drive in restaurant was 3 miles away. Doesn't look like much but best lobster roll I've ever had.

1854 is a great restaurant and worth driving to slightly-out-of-the-way Little Compton for. Situated in the cellar of the Stone House, a beautiful bed and breakfast situated in an old stone mansion, the entire experience is delightful. We made a reservation on a Fall Saturday evening (Stone House's other restaurant, called Pietra, is closed in the fall/winter), which turned out to be unnecessary, but better to play it safe. The restaurant is dimly lit and very cozy with a fireplace and candlelight. The above-table lighting is kind of obnoxious and we actually asked to move because of the glare, so ask for a table off to the side which is more pleasant. The menu offers a Continental assortment of salads and meat dishes, all of which are at which I consider to be a slightly high price point (especially this far out of the way), but I guess being in a luxury bed and breakfast is part of that. I had the Berkshire pork chop which came in a sweet glaze with red cabbage. It was pretty good and the servings were generous. Others I was with had the filet mignon and pasta dishes, and everyone seemed happy with what they ate. Dessert was really nice and we really enjoyed their version of a Baked Alaska. We drank cocktails (I had a dry martini) and those were well prepared and they do have a pretty creative drink menu for those who are interested. The server was friendly and informative as well. This is a great experience to combine with a visit to nearby Sakonnet Vineyards and make an afternoon/evening of it. If you're nearby or looking for something a bit more offbeat (than the typical Newport scene), this is a great choice for a casual but refined meal.

We so enjoyed our stay in September at the Stone House. Perfect Covid safe get away! Breakfast and lite bites on the open porch. Beautiful huge room with view of the pond and ocean beyond. Can't wait to go back.

We had reservations and waited about 15 minutes to be seated though the host was very nice. They were going to sit us on a 6 top in the middle of the restaurant but moved us to a smaller quieter table as we didn't need such a large table. We ordered shortly after being seated. I ordered the prix fixe menu with came with salad/soup, an entree and a dessert. I also ordered off the kids menu. I ordered mocktails for my kids and a cocktail for myself that came out quickly. I'm a tequila lover so I got the naked and famous which I loved. After our drinks everything went downhill. We then waited almost an hour and a half for our food. I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to ask why the wait was so long. She never bothered to check in with us to let us know we would be waiting so long. I looked over and noticed that the 6 top who sat and ordered well after us had already received their food. When I called our server over to ask if she could at least bring out the soup or kids meal so that my kids wouldn't starve. She stated that she couldn't bring anything out until the kitchen brought everything out together. She said the kitchen was backed up and kind of shrugged me off. Again, I ordered a prix fixe so why would all the courses come out together? That makes zero sense. I pointed out that the family who ordered after us had already gotten their food. She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point we were already waiting for 1 hour at this point. Normally this behavior would have had me walking out but we were staying at the hotel, had already waited an hour and it was Valentine's Day so anywhere else would have been busy. A few minutes later she brought out some soup for my daughter, no apologies just matter of factly like she did me a favor by bringing out our soup. The table next to us asked her for some fries as they also had a child starving to them she apologized and replied not a problem I'll bring out some fries for you. When we did get our food we were disappointed with everything besides the kids pasta. The pasta was the only thing that tasted ok. The salmon was burnt and the sweet potato puree tasted old and really had no flavor. I missed the part of bacon bits in the green beans so that's on me but the bacon with the salmon did not go together at all. The chicken sandwich was dry and lacked flavor while the fries were okay. I asked for the dessert to go because I didn't want to wait for another hour. She first brought it out on a regular dish then took it to the kitchen and had it mushed in a Togo container not separating the bread from the cream. When I did finally take the dessert to my room I did not enjoy it at all either this was hard and I would not call it bread pudding. It was literally chunks of bread with cream spread on top. The hotel itself was fantastic but our experience at the restaurant was horrible. The front desk was apologetic and accommodating when we checked out however so we will definitely come back to stay at the hotel, but will most likely avoid the restaurant.

I like the bacon bits in the burger, which would have been less interesting without. Fries were pretty standard. Salmon was also good and the skin was my favorite but I don't think the salmon works well with the sweetness of the mash it comes with. Overall good but the only complaint is you don't get much for your money but this is a hotel restaurant. For context, that burger and fries pictures is 21$ by itself and for that price, they could have doubled up the patties. Lol. Salmon was 30$.

Don't be afraid- it's just a short drive (10 minutes or so), and the Grille does have onsite parking. Even if there's a wait, don't let it deter you. The home cooked breakfast grub is truly worth it, and they turn tables pretty quickly, so you shouldn't be waiting for too long before you can sit in a comfy booth and dig into fluffy pancakes, perfect omelettes, and the best hash brown potatoes ever! The inside of the restaurant is casual, with surf inspired decor, chalkboards listing daily specials, and a full service bar with TVs broadcasting the latest game. Atlantic Grille is family friendly, so if you are looking for a chic girls brunch spot or something quiet and reserved, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are looking for classic breakfast fare at a good price in a fun and convivial environment, this is the place to go. I love the Western Omelette with gooey cheese, crisp ham and fresh veggies, or the Eggs Benedict, which features perfectly poached eggs (kudos to the kitchen for nailing this every time). I also enjoy the fresh fruit bowl (nothing canned or sketchy), and we always have to get a Buttermilk Pancake as an appetizer (this is the "bread course!") This is a great family owned spot you'll want to add to your Aquidneck Island adventures- especially if you want to feel like a local!

As noted above we have eaten here in the past. We have dined with large as well as small groups and have always been pleased. The place is beautiful, especially in the summer. Based on our sub par experience the night before (see prior review) I was committed to having a great meal. We were not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. Delicious. Flavorful and loaded with clams. My wife opted for the lobster bisque In an effort to negate the lousy lobster bisque she had on the previous night. Mission accomplished. She described it as buttery and creamy. Essentially the perfect bisque flavor. Contained within the bisque was a tremendous chunk of delicious lobster meat . For dinner, I chose the baked stuffed shrimp. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection with delicious stuffing, rice, pilaf, and broccoli. My only complaint is that I believe there should be more than 4 shrimp at this price. My wife selected the Pasta Bolognese. A dish that she has had and several other restaurants in several states and she ranked this right at the top of the list. Plenty of beef and pork combined with a tasty Italian sauce. When in the Newport area I suggest you skip the over hyped restaurants and head to Johnny's for a delicious meal with great atmosphere.

The room was a $325 average per night. We were there four nights and five days. At $325 I do not want a totally self service hotel. No service to room except to drop off 4 water bottles once when we are out of the room. I had to call for towels and toilet paper after a few days. I had left the service light on, but it went ignored. They dropped off three bath towels and didn't take the old ones. I had to call back for more and face/ hand towels and ask again for them to take the old damp towels. No trash was emptied so I asked if they could empty it. Toddler equals diapers. When they came instead of doing any service they just handed me a bunch of trash bags. So for the remaining two nights and three days I had to bag up my own trash and towels and leave them outside the door. I would end up moving them by the service door as it was ridiculous to keep walking around them. When we left at the end of the trip all of these bags would still be in the hall. Every barrel outside was overflowing. Pretty gross. We checked out with a few squares of TP left, no tissues, no hand soap, or lotion in one bathroom. One drawer never closed in another. Not great with a toddler running around. There was also a broken lightbulb in the water closet. If someone wanted to shower having a separate toilet area didn't work because if you shut the door it was pitch black. We tried the pool for the baby's sake. Outside the pool was a bunch of false evelashes along the edge. I guess the pool is self-service as well. We couldn't use the hot tub which would have been great for a mangled knee. Once you turned it on, it foamed up and more fake eyelashes floated to the top. Ugh!!! We tried the breakfast on day one. Paltry is the best word I have currently. Old bread and bagels, off brand cereal, and a waffle area with batter so thin it made crackers, not waffles. Such a poor presentation on a bar top that was empty with clutter and trash behind it. Coffee station in breakfast area was a dirty Keurig. We did not go back. When I mentioned the breakfast could use some work, the person behind the desk said, "how so?" With some training and care this could be a real gem near the water. In its current state it is an embarrassment for the hospitality industry and the city. Especially at $325 a night and particularly when a group of service industry professionals are guests there. Do better and care more.
