What happened to Regency Medical Center. It's really gone downhill after Dr. Aziz left. The office staff is pitiful. What a shame.

2 years post surgery and the tummy tuck looks even worse! This man is just money hungryread more

At our initial consultation on June 12, he was polite but seemed rushed and didn't spend much time discussing details. Still, he offered to perform the procedure at a reasonable price, so I decided to move forward. The surgery itself went smoothly, but recovery was incredibly painful. I couldn't stand upright for weeks. By January, I noticed swelling in my upper abdomen, which I initially assumed was just part of the healing process. Unfortunately, the bulge continued to grow rapidly, and I knew something wasn't right. I called Dr. Madry's office and was told he was leaving the country and wouldn't be available for another two weeks. At that point, the swelling was about the size of a lemon and getting bigger every day. When I expressed my concern, I was shocked by how I was treated. The office staff was dismissive, defensive, and even blamed me for not coming in sooner. Dr. Madry later called me from overseas and also made me feel shamed and at fault. They referred me to another surgeon at Good Shepherd who was covering for him, but I was told he wouldn't be able to see me for another week. Meanwhile, the bulge had grown to the size of a grapefruit. After some research, I realized I was likely dealing with a seroma--a fluid-filled pocket left behind after surgery. As a professional photographer, this growing mass made it extremely difficult to work. In desperation, I contacted my previous surgeon in Chicago, Dr. Michael Lee, who drained a significant amount of fluid from the area. I continued to see him for repeat aspirations--about ten times--until it became clear that this was not sustainable financially or logistically. Emotionally drained and hesitant to return to Dr. Madry after my experience, I resorted to draining it myself every few days. It's a painful and risky process, involving sterilizing the area and inserting a four-inch needle into my abdomen. Dr. Lee has now advised that I'll need another surgery to permanently resolve the seroma. It will cost $5,000 and require two weeks off work. I've had over ten surgeries in my life and never had any issues--until now. This has been my worst medical experience. Not only is the seroma still present, but the incision from the tummy tuck is large and poorly done. I also continue to have significant swelling that gives the appearance of a pot belly--on top of the seroma in my upper abdomen. Looking back, I deeply regret not investing in a more experienced and compassionate surgeon. I wish I had paid more for someone who would've treated me with care and delivered better results. This has been emotionally, physically, and financially devastating.

While his behavior can…read morebe a bit odd, and he does like to talk - he seems very intelligent, and I trust his judgement. I think he tries to educate his patients (and parents) while there, and let them know what he thinks is going on. The office is full of nurses and ladies at the front desk. The ladies are usually friendly, and listen to what you need. The office itself is bright, and clean. There's a series of small, private exam rooms. The office has always been able to accommodate getting us in when needed. I'm a bit attached to Good Shepherd Hospital and associated buildings. I have come to the Good Shepherd facilities since I was a kid, myself. My own pediatrician was in this same Doctor's building. I started bringing my son here when we lived in Algonquin. We moved to Buffalo Grove about 5 years ago, and I STILL make the drive out to Barrington to see him, which goes to show how much I like him - because it's quite a drive to get there. Would I recommend Dr. Beckerman?ABSOLUTELY.

In a nutshell, Dr. Beckerman, while having a positive and upbeat manner, completely missed a diagnosis of strep throat in my daughter. I went in on a Monday morning, my daughter had had a temperature of 101-103 for 3 days and coughing and a sore throat. He told me she was "basically fine" and that whatever she had, it was a virus and it would "play itself out". I was surprised by this and told him I was sure there had to be something, as my daughter was wanting long naps and telling me it hurt when she swallowed, etc. He laughed it off, gave me mini-lecture on viruses and told me that she could go back to school the next day if she had no fever. I thought, well, hell, he's the doctor....ok. So we went home and her fever did go away and so I sent her to school the next day, even though she still had a sore throat...but it's the second week of school and she was dying to go back. On Tuesday, I called the doctor again and spoke to his nurse that assured me, that it was most likely still a virus and that if she still had a fever or sore throat by Friday, to give them a call. I was dubious, but hello, they are the professionals, right? By Wednesday, the sore throat persisted and she was starting to cry when she was swallowing...and she'd developed hives. Whoa... Took her to immediate care, where they were baffled as to how Dr. Beckerman had missed the redness of the throat and swollen glands. I mentioned that he didn't look at her throat and they shook their heads and suggested we talk to him about her having strep now. I get that doctors aren't God, of course not! But...Dr. Beckerman rushed through the appointment, didn't really listen to what a mother was trying to say...we are the best advocates for our children, and we know them best. He ignored my suggestions and essentially told me that he knew better. But he didn't. And my daughter was sick for two extra days because he was WRONG. And she exposed all the kids in her class and on the bus and guess what? Now *I* have strep and my husband will probably be next. Frustrating When I called him to talk about this, I thought I'd get empathy and consideration for what happened. Nope. Dr. Beckerman was defensive and talked over my comments. Even went as far as to say that I must not have said anything about her having a sore throat. I was agape at his rude tone and the fact that not once did he ask how she was and if she had improved. No...it was all about him and his repuation. Very sad. I told him that I fgured that we'd go elsewhere and he let me know that he was "fine with that" and hung up. Nice and gee, very professsional. We'll be on the hunt for a new pediatrician...Dr. Beckerman might be more suited to older kids, but I know that he won't be getting our business or the business of anyone who asks my opinion on finding a new pediatrician.

No care taken. 5 days later and im still suffering from lower stomach cramping, light headed and dizziness. And was told after procedure I could return to work the following day. No restrictions. Seriously, I'd like to induce the same level of pain I've been experiencing onto these doctors. Maybe their roles of compassion and caring would improve. I was also asked for a major credit card number before the procedure to be sure the doctor was paid. And the bill had not been submitted to medicare yet. Im not happy with them having access to a credit card number.

I was frustrated with being pushed from doctor to doctor and getting inconsistent messages. That was stressful for me as a first time mother, so that is when I started looking for other physicians. Dr. Dan was recommended to me, and switching was the best decision I made. Dr. Dan goes above and beyond for anyone that he sees. He makes you feel like you're his only patient. He is kind, patient, and will make sure you're completely comfortable every step of the way. I was very anxious throughout my pregnancy for numerous reasons and expressed that during many appointments. Dr. Dan consistently checked on me and made sure that I was doing okay not only physically but also emotionally. I called him several times after hours, and it was never a problem. He took his time on the phone and made sure I was calm and feeling better before hanging up. He was truly a lifesaver. My delivery was a scary one, and I credit Dr. Dan for being an excellent, quick-thinking physician during a serious time. He got my baby out safely and knew exactly what steps to take to make sure my delivery didn't end up being critical. His years of experience made me feel confident that I was under the best care. I cannot thank Dr. Dan enough for everything. Even now in my post-partum weeks, Dr. Dan has checked on me a few times to make sure I am doing okay and if I need anything from him.
