If you want a place to watch a movie that is cheap and local, you should go here. Matinee is $6.50 (before 4pm everyday). They also have student discount (unlike AMC) prices. It is a small place and the actual theater we were in was the smallest I've been to! But the smaller it is, the less people there are, the less people there are the less noise and commotion lol. I would return here if I wanted to watch a movie for cheap and don't want to drive out too far. If you "like" them on facebook you get a free small popcorn! read more

They sold me expired hard candy! The manager Miguel did not want to give me a refund for the hard candy my kids started eating! So not going back to this theater again! Regency theaters was a great experience! I went to see Maleficent Mistress of evil in 3D and I was not disappointed! Yes, it might seem small at first, but it is a great place for the kids! My wife's childhood favorite but... Granada hills deserves so much more from its only local theater. This theater has so much potential, but it seems like someone simply doesn't care. There was apparently some update done, but it must've been a really long time ago, because it just feels dark and cheap inside. Tickets are standard ($12 or something like that) and snacks are a little cheaper than normal theaters (Except for their hot dogs $1.50 hot dogs!!!) I think you need to buy popcorn to get that deal, but I might be wrong. The screens look good, but not the best. No reserved seating, so there's pros and cons to that. I prefer to select my seats and it makes for an overall less stressful experience when you already know you have that perfect seat, instead of walking into a theater hoping you'll get a good seat. My wife has always loved this theater, childishly because of the fireworks that light up inside if each theater. I think it's cute, but makes it look cheap inside. My BIGGEST complaint is the seats. The are really bad! Or I just have the worst luck and twice in the last month picked seats where anytime I moved slightly out adjusted in the seat, both seats next to me also moved. (So annoying and very uncomfortable for me, my wife and the people on either side of us. (For the record I'm not overweight or tall or anything, I'm an average 5'9" 200lbs)) I think this theater either needs to become a discount theater (Our version of the Simi valley tristone cinemas) or do a major remodel. Just take notes from what AMC is doing. Not super fancy but the seats are comfortable and the prices are good. Plenty of free parking; if the parking lot seems full remember to go around the back. On Tuesday nights they have Classic Film showings; just last night we watched "It Happened One Night" get a hold of the schedule and you are likely so see something that interests you. read more

As far as I can tell, the best matinee prices in the North Valley. Just $7.25 for shows before 4pm; comparable show times at Northridge Mall and even Chatsworth are $3 more or so. I've been going to this theater since I was a kid, when it was Mann 9. I think it may have even been Pacific Theater for a minute before becoming Regency, but don't hold me to that (it's been a long time and I haven't technically lived in the area for almost 4 years). It's always been a solid choice for a movie consumer like me: Good prices, reasonable crowds, and...that's it. I'm no connoisseur obviously, so if you just want to spend a few bucks to watch a movie with your lil sis or bro or even your beau, this is the place to do it. Pro tip: massive amounts of parking in the back of the building, go around the left side as you approach the front. From there, there's a walkway up to the ticket booth. When you're done, you can exit straight through the back of the building to the parking lot and your vehicle! Just to show you how old school Valley my family is, me, my sisters, and even my dad learned how to park in this spacious parking lot. read more

Good sound; clean; pleasant staff; huge restrooms. Cheap tickets before 4:00; after 4:00 they're still cheaper than most other theatres. Seats are comfortable. Plenty of parking, but if the lot is cramped in front, go around back where it's never full. And just like other theatres , expensive concessions and guests who just can't put their cell phones away. There's a credit union ATM 20 feet away , Baja Fresh, Fatburger, Sees Candies, Sushi and a Ralph's Market so you can have lunch or dinner and see a movie all in one place. read more

This is such a sad theater. It's always deserted and the snack bar at the entrance is permanently closed. There is one snack bar that is open but I have no idea what it offers, probably standard theater fare. I give this place 4 stars because I love sitting in a theater with barely any people. It's wonderful! The theater I sat in had really comfortable chairs. I think I'm either getting older or this place plays their movies way too loud. I've been to the Regency quite a few times over the last 10 years. Its located in a strip mall between Balboa and Devonshire. The strip mall has a Starbucks, Fatburger, See's Candy and a few other things. Parking The parking lot is normally not that bad especially when it comes to the theater because it is on the end of the mall and not right in the middle of everything. They also have additional parking in the back. Tickets Ticket prices are fairly cheap here, which is one of the main reasons I continue to come here. They keep their prices under $10 which I think is more than reasonable. Atmosphere The seats were nice; they reclined back and weren't too small at all. I was able to sit Indian style :) The only complaint I had about the chairs is that since they recline it feels like there isn't much room between you and the person in front of you. It also looks like they redid some of the theaters which is nice. Note Their bathrooms are located upstairs. Overall I like this location because it does not attract high traffic which makes it feel a little bit more mellow. It has reasonable prices for a pretty good venue. It is also located fairly close to Sylmar making trip time more convenient. read more

This theater has ruined two date nights for me and my husband and with a 3 yr old we get so few. The first time I checked movie times the night before and the next day that movie was no longer playing at all. Then last Tuesday we planned dinner around a 7:50 showing which the theater manager cancelled. Idk why and didn't ask. But the 5pm and 10pm showings were still playing. Forget this theater. They completely suck. You have to call them and check every single movie time or they might ruin your evenings too!! This is the closest theater to us. Hopefully they get bought by someone with professional standards. I'll pay full price not to have anymore date nights ruined. read more

Last night I went with my fiancee and her family to see the latest Avenger's film at 7:00. The theatre was a good temperature (usually they get cold in my experience) and there were plenty of seats. The line to get a ticket was a little long but once it was our turn, the ticket salesman (I am afraid I forgot his name) was very polite and friendly. Inside, the lines for concessions were a bit long, but working with the space they had, not too bad. Only waited about 10 minutes to get our stuff. The cashier for our line, Tyler, was very busy (as were the rest of the cashiers) but did an excellent job balancing orders and refills for popcorn. This dude was on fire the way he was zooming around behind the counter taking care of everybody best he could. When my fiancee and I stepped up to get our orders taken, Tyler was very polite and friendly, cracking a couple jokes and apologizing for "taking so long" (pretty sure I could see smoke coming off his sneakers, this guy might be the Flash in disguise). He was quick to fulfill our order and did not skimp on all the good stuff for my sugar/cinnamon pretzel. When we got back to our seats, the movie had started a bit already. I knew the guy sitting in front of me was hella tall but the seat height was absolutely perfect and I had no problem with anybody being in my way. The seats are pretty comfy and I had no problem sitting through 2 and a half hours of movie. My only suggestion for the theatre would be to label the combo prices. Otherwise I suspect I will be making this my theatre of choice. read more

But for most screenings you're guaranteed whatever seat you want, and the freedom to kick the seat in front of you, or rest your feet on it, etc. Also okay to giggle a little louder in most screenings, mostly because chances are there will only be a couple other people in the theater. I like this place. It's not my first choice for movies but I've been to worse. I like how clean it is in here. The restrooms are upstairs which is a bummer but each time I've been there they've been super clean and I appreciate that. They always have $1 hot dogs. I've never had one but it's not a bad deal! This location is better than the Plant 16 one. The air conditioning in this place is hit or miss though. Sometimes it feels super cold which I'm okay with but there have been times when I've sat down for a movie and the entire place feels warm and stuffy. This theater is simple and affordable, and definitely gives you your money's worth. At $7.25 for matinee and $10.25 for an evening show, how can you beat that? Their chairs are comfy (although squeaky) but the theater itself is well kept and clean. The last time I was here was when this location was still Mann 9 theaters, but their buyout by Regency made a difference. I would definitely come back here again, it's not AMC or Pacific, but its functions are the same. P.S. Came here to watch Crimson Peak and enjoyed paying $10.25 to see Tom Hiddleston's beautiful ass on the big screen versus $14+ anywhere else. What a steal, haha! read more

The staff is always courteous, popcorn always fresh, and prices are always lower than the Pacific Theaters Chain. They only thing that has never changed.. I don't give this movie room a 0 because they don't allow but if they did I would. Absolutely atrocious place to go if you want to go watch a movie. The seats were small and sticky and there was an aroma that would make even sewage workers gag. All the seats were on a level floor so if anyone stood up anywhere in the theatre you could see them no matter where you were. The nachos came in a bag you would find at the 99 cent store and they dared to charge 7 dollars for this joke. Popcorn is amazing, even called to ask what they put in it so I can buy the same thing to make at home. They recently upgraded their seats to leather, IMO they aren't comfy as the old worn out ones... but I suppose ill give the leather ones a try since they haven't been broken in yet. Cozy Cheap Convenient My boyfriend and I come here when we want to watch a movie that doesn't require that IMAX experience. If your looking for a chill way to spend a Sunday afternoon this is that no thrills type of place to go. Its located fairly close so its more out of that convenience rather than because we LOVE it. The joy of going to the movies these days seems to be going out of the window. With movie houses the size of large shopping centers and along with massive crowds and sticky floors, you may need to take out a loan just to see a new release. The price of admission is $12 average. My movie-going days have been severely reduced in recent years but if I do have an itch for a new release, you'd find my tush in the cush here at the Regency. As far as movie theaters go, this little movie house is pretty good if not modest. Nothing fancy or overly over-the-top, I really like coming here because it doesn't get crazy busy. It only has 9 screening rooms. Prices for regular admission is unbelievably under $10 plus it offers discounted prices for students, seniors, kids, and matinees. Parking is very easy; the theater is located in a large strip mall with plenty of of parking in the front and back lots. People working here are very laid back and friendly but they'll bust you if you try to bring any food/drinks from outside. They're pretty consistent and don't discriminate. The Regency is one of the older movie theaters in the Valley but it serves its' purpose and serves it well. read more

Located in a huge plaza along with Ralphs and a few other stores. Parking was kind of a hassle here even though we came on a Sunday afternoon. $8.50 with a student I.D. This is the same price as getting AMC tickets at Costco without the upcharge! I thought the outside looked a bit run down, but honestly the inside was perfectly fine. It obviously doesn't live up to woodland hills AMC standards, but for $8.50, I was perfectly content. Not too much leg room, but the seats had enough cushion that my ass didn't hurt after two hours. I thoroughly enjoyed their nachos too for some reason. Might've been the unbelievably delicious jalapenos. Service was the same here as it is at most other theaters, meh, but most people don't come to movie theaters expecting any kind of great service. The sound and picture quality were just fine, no complaints. This theater is close to my boyfriends house, so I'm sure we'll be making this place a regular for us since some AMC's apparently charge $2 per gold ticket now! read more

Haven't been to this theatre in awhile but I'm glad to see that they added edamame to the food court. A healthy choice while at the theaters! Hopefully they will start adding more healthy options and vegan options as well! The place is clean and if you go early and catch the matinee it's only $7.75. Ehhhh It's nice that the movie tickets are a little cheaper, but there's too many cons. The Chairs aren't very inclined .. So unless the theatre is empty, or the person sitting in front of you is a child ... you're probably gonna see the back of someone's head partially blocking your view the whole night. The chairs are also super squeaky. For what you pay, this place is very good. I went here because I ate lunch nearby with some friends; SO and I planned to watch a movie after and luckily this was close by. It's not a super fancy/new/impressive theatre, but ticket prices are reasonable and you get good value as the staff are very friendly; they go out of their way to be nice. The person that took our ticket directed us clearly, when we got to our theatre someone helped us find our seats, the younger crew that cleaned up afterwards thanked us and were in good spirits/joked around with us. Also wanted to say thanks to Tony that helped me when I had some trouble with my ticket and payment method. He was there to ask if I needed any help (I did, haha) and quickly sorted out the trouble.
