Serving a wide range of traditional Jamaican cuisine and catering mainly to the courthouse lunch pack, the shop is run by a really friendly Jamaican lady that will walk you through the menu and show you the wares. I asked for some spicy noise to pound back the cold Bmore winds. She recommended the goat curry platter ($8.50) which came on a bed of red beans and rice with a side of steamed cabbage and a few slices of fried plantain. The goat curry was delicious. Tender hunks of goat meat served on the bone were well flavored but not spicy at all. The sauce was great and well-textured but sadly, the red beans and rice were disappointingly flavorless. It left me trying to ration my bites with sauce and meat to flavor all the rice. The fried plantains on the other hand were the best I've ever had. Slightly gummy from caramelization on the outside, tender and smooth inside, they beat any weak bananas I ate on Spanish III field trips or even in Costa Rica. I definately will give this place another go, the jerk chicken looked ridiculous. Give this place a shot, just make sure your beans and rice get sauced up good and try 'em plaintains.

The food was so bad...mushy rice and peas, the callaloo was baby food, and the baked chicken was well coated in the store bought sauce. I also sat and waited an extra 30 minutes for beef patties which never came. Adding insult to flavor injury, this place is a hip hop nightclub! Sat there for over an hour and nothing came on but old school hip hop. I asked for my money back and the lady said "I don't know about island food but that's what trini greens look like." I hate bashing minority businesses but this place is disrespectful. Hopefully they improve drastically in order to survive but, for right now, never come here for food. Sorry...and not sorry.

Caribbean Dynasty Restaurant & Lounge - Baltimore…read more I stopped by Caribbean Dynasty for a lunchtime bite, and the owner was pleasant. The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! The cabbage was seasoned just right, adding that authentic Caribbean touch. I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. Overall, Caribbean Dynasty offers great flavors, friendly service for a grab a go lunch order .

The menu marks spicy dishes, but not "white people" spicy. If you don't handle spice well, I recommend looking into jerk and curry flavored dishes before coming. I wish they had their full menu online because I like to get a sense of what I want before I arrive. Our appetizer was coconut shrimp. I am used to bland coconut shrimp but the shrimp here had a strong and fresh coconut flavor. My father in law had salmon with lemon butter, plantains, jasmine rice. He said everything was amazing. I ordered a Yardie Stack, which is a sandwich with a Jamaican patty of choice (I chose chicken), baked mac and cheese, and oxtail gravy on coco bread. Served with fries. The Jamaican patty was a little spicy but the sweetness of the bread and other flavors melded suspiciously well. That was a lovely sandwich. Fries were sub par but everything else was beyond any expectations I had, even the cabbage medley. My wife ordered fried chicken and I nearly bit my lip trying it. It melted when my teeth touched it and it exploded with juice. It took awhile to get food but they were swamped and it was worth it. My father in law also said the bread pudding is great and bought a slice to take home. The disappointing fries are a reason to be more adventurous and try the other foods. This was the best Jamaican/Caribbean food I've ever had.
