A couple of friends and I stumbled upon this gem on a Monday afternoon, and had an incredible meal topped with impeccable service! I feel awful because I cannot remember our waitress's name but she was AMAZING and really did it up for us! We all had different homemade juices that were bomb as hell--including the sorrel and mango juices. We ordered the conch fritters, curry goat, & curry chickpea roti and I gotta say that while everything was bomb AF, the curry chickpea really did it for us. And apparently homegirl (our amazing waitress) was the one who had made the curry chickpea that day and I hope for the sake of future patrons that she continues to do so bc that was SO GOOD! We got the jerk crab cake and it came with sides. We chose the cabbage and rice. That was the best cabbage dish I've had! So much flavor. So, my Jamaican food needs are different than most. I realized early on I am not the type of person who enjoys picking bones and such out of my food while I'm eating. And that's kinda the whole deal with Jamaican food due to how they cut the meat. Thus, what I order is rice and peas with sauce from whatever other dish(es) available, like jerk chicken or brown stew beef. If I'm lucky, I get some potatoes and carrots in the sauce over my rice and peas, and I also order 1-2 beef patties. This occurred my visit to Judy's on 8/32, I was able to get 2 beef patties with rice and peas plus sauce from whatever beef dish they had. The rice and peas + sauce was excellent. The patties were OK, they were oddly flat, and I didn't finish the 2nd one. Overall, decent food tho. Delicious food and vibes galore. I enjoyed dining in at Judy's in Canton during the holiday season. I had the Rasta Pasta and Curry Chicken patty. I was a bit hesitant because of the mixed reviews, but we really enjoyed the service and our meals. The manager , Geneva, was super welcoming and checked on the tables and bar patrons multiple times. My boyfriend LOVES Judy's jerk chicken. We've been crossing the river to their Glen Bernie location for years. Imagine our delight when we discovered that they had opened a new location in Canton. No more having to pay a toll!! Then imagine how utterly crestfallen I was to visit the new location only to be confronted with steps. A lot of them. Not just to get to the door, but more inside as well. "ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Fact: All places of public accommodation (i.e., accessed and open to the public) must be accessible to persons with disabilities." Except that apparently none of this matters to all-too-many businesses and restaurants. IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE TO DENY WHEELCHAIR USERS ACCESS TO PUBLIC SPACES!!! And even if I did, somehow miraculously, get inside ALL the tables are high tops. So as much as I love their red punch, we will not be returning. And since it's such a hassle to go to AA County, I doubt we'll be patronizing that (albeit accessible) location, either. This spot is currently operating under a soft opening, having opened their doors just a few weeks ago. We walked in on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. The server was kind and attentive and there was good music playing (mostly afrobeats and reggae). We ordered the jerk wings which were very hot (temperature wise) when they were brought out (a plus). Some were a bit dry. Others were more flavorful than others. The price was a bit high for wings ($18-19 for 9 wings). I had the oxtail. Few of the oxtails were a bit firm and hard to cut. I also noticed the sauce was extremely thick and was an odd texture, almost as if cornstarch was added. Overall flavor was good though. I tried the curry goat which was also very good! I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that parking was accessible and free, the location is spacious and opens up more with lower tables in the back of the restaurant, for a more intimate feel.
