I ordered Brown stew but got jerk salmon. It was spicy. I was still forced to pay full price.

Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Wrong Order, No Accountability I've ordered takeout from Judy's Island Grill before and decided to dine in this time with a friend who was trying to support me after a very stressful and traumatic week. She took me out to help ease my anxiety, and we ended up having a very deep and intense conversation throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that experience was overshadowed by what happened with the food and service. We were seated at a dirty table, which we had to ask to be cleaned. Not a great start, but fine -- things happen. I ordered the brown stew salmon. When our food arrived, the server stood there and asked, "Who ordered the jerk salmon?" I immediately said that I did not order jerk -- I ordered brown stew salmon. She responded "OK" and placed the dish in front of me. At that point, I assumed it may have just been a slip of her tongue. The dish didn't overly look like traditional jerk (it wasn't dark or blackened), so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. After just a few bites, my mouth was on fire. It was spicy. I began to wonder if they made their brown stew salmon with a little bit more of a kick than I was used to. Given everything I had going on that day and the nature of the sensitive conversation I was having with my friend, I didn't want to interrupt the moment or make a big issue about the food, so I tried to push through, even though I had to keep drinking water between bites. When the server later came around to check on us, I mentioned that the dish was very spicy and that I suspected it might actually be jerk. The explanation I received was honestly unbelievable!!! The server said to us *The (Hispanic looking) woman who took your order is the manager/owner, and she doesn't know the difference between the two dishes. (The server said this to us!!) She continued: * There is only one button for both jerk salmon and brown stew salmon. Because of that, she (the owner/manager) was supposed to go to the back and explain to the chef that I wanted brown stew instead of jerk -- but she clearly did not do that. Even more concerning, the server admitted she suspected the dish might be wrong when she brought it out -- and served it anyway. Let that sink in. I literally said at the table that I did not order jerk salmon -- and it was still placed in front of me and left there. She did not check with the Chef what order he received. What if I had a food sensitivity or allergy?!????? This is not just poor service -- it's careless. Even more disappointing: No apology. No accountability. No attempt to make it right. Just a full bill as if nothing happened. A manager should absolutely know the difference between two completely different dishes!! This experience left me feeling frustrated, dismissed, and honestly a bit disgusted. Something has clearly changed here, and not for the better. Proceed with caution. A mistake is one thing -- how it's handled is everything. Being served the wrong dish is frustrating -- being told it was known and ignored is unacceptable.

Lots of people rave about how good Judy's is so when I was in the mood for some Caribbean food, I came to this location since I was on the way home from the airport. I ordered online hoping that it would be ready by the time I got the but still had to wait an additional 30 mins. I got charged for a beef patty that they failed to put in the bag. Also, the food was mid. The cabbage and rice and peas were good but the mac and cheese tasted like fast food mac and cheese. The curry chicken was way too salty. The food is also overpriced.

I was here the other night. I simply went in to buy patties. I purchased 2 spicy beef patties, 2 curry chicken patties, and one jerk chicken patty. This was not my first time getting food from this restaurant. However, it's been years so I wanted to get some because I haven't had it in a long time. I had to wait forever for that.I also got a drink. When I finally did got one of my orders, because I had two I had to wait a long time for the other one. This caused my food to get cold while waiting for the rest. The young lady that gave me my food did apologize. However, I was not compensated or given warm food in place of the food that had gotten cold. Outside of that, the place is clean. It's a cool little spot.I didn't realize that you could sit in and eat because I used to just order it. I will highly suggests packing your patients if you are going here to get food. And the food is just okay

Slow as Hell the Food Good but you gonna wait until they bring it from Jamaica

This is the second time in less than two weeks that I had to wait over an hour for my food especially when the app told me it was gonna be ready at XYZ time not making it a race thing but when I support black businesses, they always slow as hell and they don't care they just take their damn time and I like prompt service so yeah Judy's slow as hell one star. by the way I'm black as hell black and blacky black

I ordered the shrimp quesadilla. It was so delicious. Very seasoned and a good sized portion... food came out hot. I absolutely loved the ginger lemonade. It was so smooth with the right amount if sweetness and the ginger kick. Street parking is tight. The decor makes me feel like this is a bar in Jamaica, plus the music... The staff was nice, but couldn't handle the crowd. It was shoulder to shoulder for karate night. It was super hot. They had the windows open with the a/c on. The karaoke dj was a hour late, but it was fun once he arrived. Vibes were positive and fun

Authentic Jamaican food! The owner will occasionally show up and stop by tables to talk. That ensures you have a good eating experience. It gets crowded around noon so I usually wait until after 1 to dine in. Worth the drive to try this wonderful Jamaican restaurant.

Stopped in for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by the menu. There were great bar food options each with an island flare and Vanessa was serving up strong drinks, fantastic recommendations and friendly smiles. I went with the jerk chicken spring rolls which weren't too spicy but definitely had a kick. The oxtail taco was amazing and the green tea shot to wash it all down was just enough to know the drinks mean business! I ordered a slice of rum cake to go which technically looks (and tastes) like traditional Jamaican black cake. It was good. I will definitely be back, and soon!

I ordered off of uber eats so I can't say much about the actual restaurant But the fooddddd yeah the food is bussin bussin!! I'm here for the weekend from Texas and this place caught my eye The oxtail fell off the bone ! Full of flavor . FLAVORRRRRRRR The plantain sweet nice and ripe perfect like I like it! The patty was smaller then what they give in Texas but it was delicious The rice was average nothing special The chicken was good didn't like the sauce on top by itself but on the chicken delicious and had a little kick I recommend !

I came with a group of 4 on a Thursday around 3pm. It wasn't crowded and we were greeted and seated quickly. The waiter was efficient and had jokes not all funny but a good time! The place is a good size for groups plus has a full bar. We had the jerk bbq wings and cod fish fitters to start, both tasty. I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich and I was not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed the food. The ginger pineapple juice is sooo delicious. Overall I'll be back next time I'm in town.

    Best in the DMV!

First time visiting Judy's and the food was really good. It had everything I wanted even the FRID DUMPLINGS!(hard to get at most Caribbean restaurants lol) drinks good, food good, and bartender great! Big up Vanessa

Saw my girl, Khadijah for my returning flight to LA!! I was ECSTATIC! YOU HAVE NO IDEA. It's not the drink but the great vibes and company at Martini's. In fact, I noticed that when she's working, she's always got a full bar. It's her excellent attitude and vibe! I showed up and she had everyone up at the bar so I sat to the right of the bar so I can charge my phone! Even better, she remembered me! She told me that you can grab a drink if you have family, and sit across the way, if need be because those under 21 cannot sit at the bar. 2025.11-05/WED_1400: Just finished a long flight from LAX and had a two hour layover at BWI. I found the only bar between Concourse A and B. Originally, I was trying to stay close to gate A8. Had no idea my gates had changed to gate B. Martini is located at the top of the escalator on the way to Concourse B and the food court. The airport is under construction but you'll see it when you look for the escalator. There was a good amount of customers that looked like they were also on a layover having a great time. The bartender was a gorgeous lady by the name of Khadijah. It's so wonderful to see her beautiful smile and wonderful attitude. I don't know how she does it dealing with some grumpy and idiotic people! She's incredible just knocking everyone out with her wonderful customer service, attitude and SMILE. This changed her from beautiful to gorgeous or gorgeous to stunning. Whichever is top notch! Hospitality is 200%! Some customers feel so entitled and she handled everyone like a champ. No fuss, just a lovely attitude and she let stuff roll off her like waterproof wood stain. She also made me a drink called a Sexy Mule which had muttled blueberries, a flower of some sort (can't remember which flower liquor she told me) and extra ginger (it looked like pink lemonade garnished with blueberries). It hit the spot! Great suggestion! It was nothing like those bland Moscow Mules. If you are wondering where to go after a long flight and you're stuck at BWI for a long layover, I would suggest you see Khadijah at Martini because you won't receive stellar hospitality at any other bar at BWI like this! I'll be returning to BWI next week so I hope I see her again for my insane layover! #hospitality #martini #bar #baratBWI #BWI #mortimerthebear # travellingbear #everywherebear #ConcourseA

The fried green tomatoes could have been cooked a little longer to suit my taste but it wasn't bad. Just a little hard to cut through with the knife. I'm interested in trying out their early evening. We started with Potato Cakes with crème fraiche, they had a nice crunch, a tender interior with subtle flavor. I'd never had them with crème fraiche, it was a nice change and the mild tanginess with the creamy texture complimented the Cakes well. I ordered the Main Street with Weisswurst, a Pretzel and plain Spätzle. It was my first, the veal's flavor is understated in comparison to Bratwurst or Knackwurst (not on the menu) and was a pleasant changeup. The Pretzel was little disappointing while it was a decent pretzel, it lacked the crisp crust and distinctive flavor I expected. As evident by the rating while worthy of note, it's not a game changer. I'd ordered a large plain Spätzle, which was two regular portions, but was served Spätzle with cheese I tasted it and it wasn't my thing, which is not to say it was bad, I just don't care for cheese in dishes like that. Our server swapped one cheese for plain (my wife had happily stolen the other) and enjoyed the replacement. I found that the grilled onions gave it a nice homey flavor. Mistakes happen and it turned out to be a win in the end. We shared a couple of desserts and by far, my favorite was the Black Forest Cupcake. It's on the large side, they might be able to cut on the weighty crème icing, the chocolate cake and soaked cherries were a delight. The cherries are a significant improvement over the Marchinos I had before, if only there were more. Rathskeller can get a little loud, as it is a relatively small space with hard surfaces so voices reflect, it wasn't packed this afternoon, so it wasn't an issue. I ordered the flautas which are rolled chicken tacos that are fried and topped with lettuce, cheese, crema, pickled jalapeños, and pickled red onions as well as an order of guacamole that comes with chips. The flautas were just ok as most of their flavor came from the pickled vegetables as the chicken tasted unseasoned. I scraped the brown part off to try and salvage the parts that were fresh as I really wanted to try it and I was starving. The guacamole was very underseasoned as the only thing I could taste in it was the avocado. The chips were stale. That's what brought me back. Turns out Thursdays are burger special day instead, $3 off. The space is wide open with plenty of seating. Kids eat free on Tuesdays, which is a nice touch. This place can get rowdy during home games and late nights, but I've always had a good time here. Today I went with the All-Star burger -- cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle spear on a brioche bun. Asked for medium with mayo. It came open-face, and instead of spreading the mayo on the bun, it was squirted unevenly over the lettuce and tomato. That kind of set the tone. The burger itself? Dry. Bland. The brioche bun felt about a day away from stale. Nothing offensive, just completely forgettable. It was inexpensive on special, but it didn't move the needle for me. I'll still vouch for the cheesesteak. Return for the cheesesteak. Skip the burger.
