Not fair in any way shape or form to do additional work without asking and then holding the part hostage until it was paid for. You took advantage of someone and very clearly are not ethical people. You should have done the right thing and not stolen money from her or anyone else. Think about you actions. I would not sleep well if I had done what you did, but maybe you are only in business for the money. You lost a customer and we will be sure to spread the word.

We hired Hearth Doctor to install a Renaissance 600 fireplace--a pricey, complex unit--and they botched it from start to finish. Safety ignored: They skipped a required radiation shield and told me to stuff insulation against the chimney pipe--an outright fire hazard. Only after I contacted the manufacturer did they reluctantly fix it, which meant removing a chimney already mounted two stories up. Timeline blown: A 2-day job dragged into 3.5 months, with constant delays and misinformation to my contractor. Poor workmanship: They mis-measured, forced rebuilds, denied necessary vents (later confirmed essential by the manufacturer), installed the unit with a broken door, then crudely bent the keyhole instead of replacing it. Finally, the fireplace was left visibly off-level, making finishing work nearly impossible. No accountability: Across six visits between June and September, I never received an apology. When I asked for a discount, they brushed me off, insisting they'd provided a "safe, functional, professional installation" that went "above and beyond" If this is their idea of "above and beyond," I shudder to think what "average" looks like. Bottom line: unsafe, sloppy, unprofessional. Save yourself the grief--do not hire this company.

We visited the Lewiston store and met our wonderful sales person, Dawn, who helped us choose the right chair as well as match the fabric choice to our living room oriental. And they are perfect!!!! The chairs were manufactured by LazyBoy and took at least 6 weeks to construct and ship. They arrived ontime and the scheduler at FX Marcotte honored our request to have them delivered ASAP. Today, Ryan and Wes delivered our chairs on time as promised ,(did I mention NO DELIVERY CHARGE) provided set up and tested everything to make sure it was working properly. As I walked the rows, I could identify that the items were made in America - items that we should have been taught about in grammar school - a curriculum with science, math, growing crops and raising a chicken - perhaps learning about proper care for a horse - if I could turn back time and do it all over, but I can't. What I can do is come to Richmond Agway Farm and Home and talk with Jim again. He's someone who takes the old fashioned approach to customer relations - his soft voice and kind eyes kept me wanting to stay and listen beyond the thirty minutes we spent together.

Early in 2020 I moved to the L/A area and brought my mower with me. The self-propel function, personal pace, was acting up. I have had this system repaired before. It is not a cheap fix, but worth it - in 12 years I have had to do this repair one time before. The machine still works great, and I would like to keep it going. It just needs repair. Lapointe's is the nearest authorize TORO dealer/authorized service to my new home. I called ahead, and made an appointment for tune-up and repair to the personal pace propel system. I dropped off the machine, and confirmed the tune-up and repairs that were arranged. Days later I received a call, and was told that the tune was complete, but they did not make the repairs to the personal pace propel system - it was not worth it: I should come get my machine, charges are $95.00 plus tax. When I get to the store to pick up my machine, I was charged the $$, and told that the machine was around back and the mechanic/technician would answer my questions about the repair. I was told I should "convert" the machine to a "push mower." I asked what that involved? The mechanic flipped the machine over, yanked out the drive belt, and told me it was now converted to a push mower. Not at all reasonable. I have had this repair done before, and now I need to find a place to get it done. Terrible service! Terrible!!
