Due to that started following their social media and thanks to being close by we had no excuse not to stop by! So thankful we did! A perfect addition to the Lewiston downtown. The owner was so friendly and helpful, especially when I asked for plants that are easier to keep alive. Neither my wife or I have great luck with plants despite enjoying plants. He showed us all his thoughts of plants that fit the bill of what we were looking for! You could tell as soon as he stood up and started showing us the plants how passionate he was about his business! I can only imagine the vast amount of plant knowledge you could learn from talking to him! He also shared with us the type of plant his grandmother shared with him that started his passion and journey that in the end lead to Garden of Via becoming a reality. Prices for the plants seemed very reasonable and would recommend checking this place out. We ended up grabbing an air plant, that before coming here were unaware they were a thing. Look forward to seeing how big this business becomes! A true passion project that deserves all of the support from customers!

This small business is owned by a gentleman who is obviously passionate about his craft and has cultivated a fantastic collection of unique and special plants. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I will definitely be back!!

Oh, PFU of L/A, how I miss thee!…read more I know that there are Paris Farmers Union across the entire state. There's one nearby to where I live currently, but my favorite of all the locations is the Lewiston one. When it was initially located in Auburn, I used to go there all the time to get rabbit food. Having never had a bunny before, I assumed the best place to get him food would be PFU since they consider themselves my "home, farm, and garden center." And where do bunnies like to hang out? In gardens! And farms! And homes (though I don't think it's their preferred locale of the three options)! When I went the first time to get some rabbit chow they asked me how much I wanted. They offered to bag up twenty-five pounds for just around $8 or $9, and thinking that sounded extremely reasonable, I agreed. It took me months and months (and months and months) to finally run out. Seriously, it's the best pet food deal around (as is their bird seed prices)! I also find there plants to be extremely well maintained and healthy. When I first got into gardening, PFU is where I got all of my veggie starters. I also spent some serious time contemplating apple trees once and had some really excellent conversations with the extremely knowledgeable employees about arboriculture. If you have questions... ask. They'll steer you in the right direction, I promise! When places like this exist, there's absolutely no reason or need to ever patron big box chains. Paris Farmers Union offers everything they do, but with a personal touch. And sometimes a farm cat wandering in and out, too!

Sometimes it feels like a mad dash as people are trying to get their supplies and they will cut right in front of you without excusing themselves. This is by no means the fault of the business, so I don't take stars off for a customer's observed behavior. Staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile if you wanted something they didn't have in stock, but they were able to find online. Sometimes a bit too long at the register as others are waiting to be helped. This one cashier kept pushing the customer to allow them to order the item she really wanted online and have it delivered to her home. She would say "I can wait, it's no problem", yet the cashier and Manager would not accept the answer. I get a sale is a sale, but you don't want to lose the guaranteed sales standing in your line either. That's my only complaint about this location.
