My love for wine (especially red) and a good time brought me to Napa Valley back in April 2010. Thanks to Neil Bason at Regusci, all expectations of wine country were exceeded. Beautiful setting. Ample parking: on a Saturday, there were 2 limos there bringing large groups. Has outdoor picnic tables, many reserved. The tasting room indoors consists of a bar area + 3 standing stations = $25 for 4 wines. Outside the tasting room is an outdoor patio with cabanas and 2-3 tables for groups of 6 or so = $30 (for the same wines). They served a 2012 chardonnay, Zin, Merlot (extra pour), and Cabernet Sauvigon, and Patriarch. I liked the Zin and Cab. Usually the cabs from Stags Leap have not disappointed us in the past. It was so busy in the tasting room that day- the wine pourer switched on us after 1 pour, and she didn't talk much about the tasting notes or any other info. It was a start contrast to our experience earlier in the day at Sequoia Grove (amazing reds there, by the way!) We also had to wait behind 3 other parties to pay for our tasting- took another 15 minutes. Would probably recommend the outdoor seating next time: reserve in advance. We were here on a weekday and the place was crowded, but that didn't detract from our tasting. The pourers were extremely friendly and helpful and even gave us a cigar to enjoy later in the evening. The place is a little slice of heaven, and for me, transports you right to the old world in Italy. Very picturesque. The experience is top notch while being laid back. I love this place. The wines are amazing. This is a 3rd generation Family run winery. The owners are extremely welcoming and warm people. The winery and views are beautiful. The history is super interesting, and their narrow escape in the recent fires is heroic. I highly recommend you visit and sample their excellent wines. Make sure you visit their cellar. read more

We went to Regusci because someone I was traveling with wanted to get back there (she'd been before and loved it). Great scenery, extremely friendly staff (greetings Nellie...), and very good wines. They also sell olive oil, that while it's not pressed on-site, it's from olives grown there. We picked up a bottle of it, very nice as well. Neil also turned us on to a couple of other spots to hit, which turned out to be winners. read more

Mmmm, Angelo's is the way to go. This was the first winery i visited in Napa back in 2000 and it still is the first place I visit when I return. Regusci removes pretention and focuses on hospitality and wine. Great casual environment, bring snacks to enjoy at the picnic area and don't forget to love on the dogs. read more

OMG! Where can I start their grounds are beautiful i didn't want to leave. They have all reds and they all taste delicious we got to try a white that is not on the menu and it was very refreshing. The staff is amazing the barrel room was open so we got to sit inside its a family friendly winery my girls loved taking photos of all the cool stuff the grow. I went here just once. I have recommended it many times. Quality of wine is great. I like the style. Full-bodied reds for sure. The building is fun. I felt comfortable here. Wine tasting is one of my favorite hobbies. I would describe this experience as awesome. They seem to be doing things the right way. Very friendly staff, good chatter, and even a discount at the end. I went here with a group of friends on Saturday and it was the highlight of our wine tasting trip. First, the picnic tables are great and a beautiful location. It did not have a lot of people there so it was great to have that intimate feel. They were so kind to us and brought out the wine tasting to us outside. Recommended by another winery to come here. Very nice grounds, a fabulous patio with lots of seating, perfect for a sunny day. Tasting fee was $15 or $25 for the same wine on the $15 flight plus 2-3 more reserve bottle tastes. I though the fees were a little steep esp knowing that the bottles on the reserve list were $100 bottles of wine. The wines we tasted were good, but the Merlot stood out above the rest. Our server did let us taste one of the reserve wines for free just because she said it was her fav. It was good but not $80 worth good. Glad we got to sample it though. We walked away with a bottle of the Merlot and she did wave one of the fees which was appreciated. We had a good time here talking and drinking and she had some good music playing overhead which always helps not seems so pretentious. read more

One of my favorite stops along the Silverado Trail. The estate is really unique to drive up to. It is about a .5 mi off the road, and you start to feel you really are in wine country as you drive through the vineyards. The family used to just sell grapes to other vinters in the Stag Leap's district, but in 1996 began making their own. My favorite is the zinfandel. Unfortunately, they are sold out very soon after it is bottled. So, you may or may not get to taste it on your visit. The tasting room is handsome with a nice wine bar. Over the years I have been there, the servers vary. Some good, some just ok, with never a bad experience. Love to go into the old Ghost Winery. That building dates back to the 1800's. They now store their barrels there. Couple of tables on the patio with a nice view looking west into the valley . On a late fall day, with the leaves turning, that place is truly magic. California wine country scene extraordinaire. Wines are very good. They have gotten a little pricey in the past 3 years. Demand, I guess. Reds are still my favorite. Regusci provides a look back at the "old" days in the valley. Grandpa Regusci, I believe, purchased the 135 acres back in the depression era for $25 an acre. I could just cry!!! read more

This was our second visit here, to my sister's favorite winery. This is now my husband's favorite winery, as he loves a full-bodied Cab. As many have described, the grounds are gorgeous, with a beautiful outdoor seating/tasting area as well. We tasted inside, and our pourer was knowledgeable and nice (could have been a tad friendlier; wish I could deduct half a star....). We are members and received a complimentary flight, and we ended up ordering a case to be shipped. Just love their wines! I enjoy white wines as well, and managed to convince my hubby to add a couple of chardonnays to the case :o) Try this winery! Every palate it different, but I think you will find some wonderful wines here! read more

We were a big fan of this winery. Will update on visit #2 with more specific wine reviews. PLUSES: -Reasonable tastings - ours was $15 and the wave if if you buy a couple bottles. -The wines of course! We liked almost every single one on our tastings (all reds one white.) -Dogs! And lots of them! Very cute and friendly. -Olive Oil! OMG it was amazing and you must try it. -Friendly wine-tenders, made nice conversation. No minuses. We ended up purchasing the Amazing Olive Oil and Napa Valley 2006 vintage Zin for $50. It was offered as a bonus to our tasting and we just had to bring it home. Regusci came recommended from other folks in the Wine District. Have to say, the landscape is awesome...Wine not so much. Again most people have different palates and tastes however I was not impressed by the majority of their wines. Do have to say some of thier Cabernet (after 5-10yrs) would be worth something. Though do look for Lisa, she is cool and really nice. We had fun talking to her about the wines and different stories. She does light up the place. Ohh...totally forget this incidence, my friend got bitten by one of the 6+ dogs onsite. Honeslty, most of the dogs were friendly, however there are 2 new dogs on the property that I would have to say were a little rambucious and the owner's have taken no care of training them. We were in the lawn enjoying the sun, when my friend was attacked (playfully) however she ended up with a bite on her ear and almost lost her diamond earings. So...except for that experience...we would say the winery is just okay, the folks are awesome, some dogs are cool others not so much. read more

This place was awesome. I enjoyed the quality of the wine and the atmosphere. The tasting was great, this place was more crowded than many of the other wineries we visited, however, somehow, the place just had a great feel. The grounds are beautiful, the buildings classic and the tastings delicious. What more could you want? I enjoyed most of the wine that I tasted here, and was especially excited when my friend and I were able to do a barrel tasting. It was a great experience I will never forget. The most memorable of my birthday trip to Napa (a month belated in my review writing!). Rita was with me from start to finish - she was the one to book my reservation with me over the phone service our actual tasting. Worth every penny to come here. We sat in the side room, that was more like a cellar, filled with giant bottles of wine. All the wines were amazing...and she was nice enough to give all of us some of the extras here and there, even though we ended up doing a few reserve tastings. LOVE LOVE LOVE the 100% Zinfandel and the Merlot wit 2% Cab - the Cab takes the edge off the Merlot, which I typically don't like as a style of wine, but was fab. And my family for Thanksgiving agreed with the bottles I brought home. Great views, wonderful patio and lawns - officially now one of my favorites in Stag's Leap County. read more

Regusci's staff is extremely accomodating, friendly, fun, welcoming, warm, and other cuddly and fuzzy adjectives you can think of. Being a Napa "virgin", my first trip to the valley got me a little nervous that wineries would be condescending towards us, as we're all in our mid twenties, and quite inexperienced in the wine tasting game. NOT SO. Regusci welcomed us in, happily answered all our questions, gave us a fabulous mini tour of their cave, let us linger and explore to our hearts content. The wine is so delicious, we were more than happy to sink further into debt by purchasing their wines. I cant wait to pop that baby open for a special occasion, and remember the great time that Regusci showed us. If youre in the valley, make sure to stop by Regusci! The wine is amazing here, and we got a lot more than expected in several ways. We were feeling a little lethargic because we had visited a few other wineries before, but leave it to none other than Brian, the Welsh bloke behind the counter, to liven it up for you. While I had a hard time understanding everything that he said (think Brad Pitt a la Snatch), he was inevitably charming (he liked to call me Blondie, yet I am not Blonde) and made sure to fill 'er up quite nicely. I enjoyed every single pour, and they kept getting better and better. Even better was that Brian allowed us to try, on his own accord, more than what was included in our tasting. It was the first time I was able to taste a $140 bottle of wine, and it was fabulous. The perfect end to a perfect day in Napa. read more

4 stars for the most amazing view of the Napa Valley Sunset - honestly, I couldn't have imagined something more gorgeous! Delicious Chard, okay Cab, better Zin - totally worth the tasting fee and the stop off on the Silverado Trail. If you want to go for the gold, try the $25 tasting and savor the Angelo's Hillside Cab while sitting outside on the back patio. A surprise discovery I made whilst at Regusci was their olive oil - AMAZING. Though the olives are pressed off-site, they are grown at the Winery and have an amazing flavor. I love their wines and especially love visiting their tasting room. I am always amazed at their Cabs and Bordaux blends. They are so smooth, complex and delicious and even the new releases have the character of a well-aged wine. The staff is beyond welcoming and it is always a joy to be there. First off, this wine is insanely delicious! I can't yum it enough. I bought 6 bottles, 4 as gifts and 2 for me!! I wish I'd gotten more. Secondly, the winery is great - comfortable, attractive, huge outside areas; it's relaxing, a great place for groups or couples and even for kids. To top it off, icing on the very cake itself, the service is fantastic - some of the nicest people in the Napa area. AND A DOG! Trixie (?) is super well-behaved and adds to the overall sense of homey comfort. Plus, there is nothing like sitting on a patio overlooking green fields and trees and drinking an exceptional glass of wine while petting a sleeping dog. The wine is expensive, but not outrageous, and every bottle is worth the price they ask for. Side note: They give you free bottles of water!! On a day of winery hopping, you often don't realize how much you need water - but Regusci does! I will NOT come to Napa again without coming here, I would consider the trip a failure. read more

This was our last stop of the day, and it didn't disappoint. We had a group of 12 and were on-time for appointment. We were given a personal tour of the wine cellar, the original barn where wine was made with the help of gravity. Alex, our guide, was extremely knowledgable about the winery and the wines. It was very cool to get a personalized tasting while standing in a barn from the 1800s, surrounded by very expensive wine barrels. At first, we were a bit disappointed by the small pours we received, but as the tasting continued, everyone realized that larger pours would have been over whelming. The one downside for us was the music / atmosphere in the main tasting room. The music was a thumping loudness indicative of a party atmosphere. That aside, I'd easily return. read more

When my friends and I drove up to this winery we were struck by the calm and beauty. Inside the wine room we were met by friendly staff who started pouring. The tasting fee was a little high ($25), but upon tasting the wine we were hooked. Their 2008 Cabernet was amazing. I'm not a chardonnay fan, but their white popped in my mouth. Very fresh, clean, citrusy with notes of honey. Amazing! We sat out and took in the most amazing vistas. Reminded me of sitting up in the hillsides outside of Florence, Italy watching the sunset. It was nirvana. Even after paying the tasting fee I took home two bottles to relive this amazing moment at a later date. read more

I went to Regusci from my best friend's recommendation. My husband and I came here as part of our honeymoon. We did a winery tour with tasting. What a great winery! So pretty. The main entrance is filled with Lemon trees, and they were free to pick! They have a very cute garden in front of their main building. It's good for a small picnic. Their wine is just tooo great! I loved the wine so much I became wine club and can not wait for my first shipment. I was pleasantly surprised by their Chardonnay it's one of the best I've had and they specialize in Red.
