I just love the name for multiple reasons; it is where I do my rehabilitation from my traumatic brain injury through talking to everyone! Rehab Tavern could have several meanings. It could mean that it's located in a rehabilitated neighborhood. This could also mean there's a lot of patrons who need rehab. It doesn't really matter because they have cheap drinks. The atmosphere is good if you need to get away from the pretentious atmosphere around the artist community there. If you're looking for a dive bar, this is it. It has pretty much cheap national brand beer as well as a good selection of local. The beer comes in cans too. It has a happy hour as well as weekly specials. The festival scene often takes over the riverfront area so it's nice to come here and get something that's not a ripoff like over there. It also has a stage for artists. There isn't food but there's often a food truck at Land Grant so you can just shuffle about a block. It's not nice but you'll have a good time at Rehab Tavern. It's attraction is the cheap beer and cocktails. This is better than Strongwater which is a ripoff. read more

I've been to this bar multiple times in past years and have always loved the chill vibes. I decided most recently to check it out again when most of franklinton bars were full, but this bar definitely caught me off guard. It was almost as if the pandemic did not exist. Very few people with masks including the bartenders (one did not even have a mask on at all, the other one only sometimes had it on.) I can't believe this place hasn't gotten a violation yet. Other than that, there is outdoor patio space in the front and on the side. Both are nice, but be prepared for people to smoke. Dogs are allowed not only outside on the patio but we're also accepted inside in the bar area as well. Tables were spaced out, but they did not seem to care if people moved them around (which they did). It was evident that not only did the bar not care greatly about the pandemic, but that the clients didn't care much either. I left before I could get a drink because I was so appalled by the atmosphere, but a couple friends stayed who said service was only mediocre. I hate to give a bad review like this especially when I used to enjoy it pre pandemic, but unless something changes, I would not recommend. read more

This is definitely a popular hangout in the Franklinton area. Service was fine, and I've enjoyed whatever food I've gotten. However, the staff are perfectly fine with allowing homeless people to hang out in the bar. That's not always a bad thing, but many of them come in and act abrasive toward the patrons. Nothing like feeling you might get stabbed at any minute while trying to enjoy your beer. It's the city. Homeless folks are going to come in from time to time. That's life. Give them a water or a sandwich or something. Or even let them stay all night if the weather sucks. But to allow the violent ones to run amuck, yelling, screaming, and trying to start fights with your patrons? Not cool. read more

We visited this bar 6/13/24 expecting a nice chill after drinks following a wedding. I am 66 years old, and it is very rare that I lose my temper. After about a half hour of trying to purchase a drink for one of our wedding party, the bar maid a young lady kept walking by and ignoring us. Then she would prance over to her corner to talk to probably her locals. She eventually made her way over one more time and walked by looking directly at me and gave a smirk that suggested our group and or I was not worthy of her service. I am not proud of what I did but I slammed my hand down on the bar as I used to do at the dinner table with my children. The bar went silent, and I was able to tell her " I have your attention now!". I asked, "why you are not serving us? She would not answer my question and said get out of her bar, she was calling the police. I had no problem leaving along with our group. This place is terrible. You should not go here. I am only saying that so I can continue to have Rehab for myself. Been going here on and off for a few years now and it's a solid option, although not without its problems. The patio is top notch. I love the tables out there. I also love that it's never crowded. Unfortunately, the stools are way too short for the bar tables so it's kind of like sitting at the kid's table at thanksgiving unless you sit at the picnic tables. The draft selections are smart, but they are never on special. The happy hour sucks. Just a dollar off domestics. That's something they should really change; it would help business. But it's pretty cheap in general so I can't complain too much. Oh, and well drinks are only $2.50 for happy hour, which lasts a pretty long time. Especially on weekends when it is pretty much all day. There is a check in offer for 50% off of an appetizer, which makes for a really cheap order of tater tots, which are only $3 to begin with. They're delicious and you must order them with boom boom sauce. Last but not least, local musician Doctor Umbrella is one of the bartenders and he is hilarious. He alone is worth a trip now and again. Oh, they also have a stage and do shows on occasion. The next thing I know of coming up is Hip Hop Karaoke. read more

They try to make me go to rehab and I won't go, no no - except wait! If it is THIS Rehab - I'll totally go! I went to Rehab for their Franklinton 10 for $10 wine tasting and had a really nice time! The bar is really spacious and has really unique décor. It isn't too crowded and my group and I were able to find some comfy stools at the bar. I will say that the service was really struggling which is why I didn't give this place 5 stars. The one bartender was just hanging out on her cell phone almost the entire night. We were trying to order food and get our receipt for the wine tasting for what felt like forever. If I had her number I would have just texted her and asked her because her face was seriously buried in her phone all night. When we were finally able to order our food, it was super good for the price. I had low expectations because, well, it's Franklinton...but I ordered the Cuban and it was super tasty and well-made. We also had the tator tots and they were good, too. The wine tasting itself was an excellent event. They had a great variety and the prices to take a bottle home were excellent. I will definitely attend another wine night if they have one. And I will be back but if I see that same server, I may just take myself back across the bridge and go somewhere else. read more

Why is there never anyone here?? This is quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in Columbus. Really cool LITERALLY rehabbed building, with the tables, walls, and floors made from reclaimed wood. The floor is bowling lane wood! It's both rustic and modern. There is local art on the walls (for purchase) and a great selection of seasonal drafts. They carry local distillery booze at affordable prices. The menu is small, but they have paninis and appetizers. Lots of cool events and themed nights, and a good happy hour. Also, I came here for the Crew championship game, and pretty much had a TV and table to myself. The patio here is AWESOME in the summer. The bartenders are cool and super friendly. If I lived in walking distance, I'd be here all the time. I want this place to be hoppin' because it totally deserves it... but I also want everyone to stay away so I can have it all to myself! read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon while day drinking with some out of town friends. We sat outside which kept dry while it sprinkled. It was chill out there. I understand that this is just a dive bar, and maybe they were understaffed, but I did not have a great experience inside. We waiting a long time to get drinks and there was only one bartender tending to probably 30 guests. Many of the guests were shouting at him and being rude, to which he didn't say anything. A very good dive bar. It's right next to Land Grant and the Brewdog. So when those more popular bars are too crowded Rehab is a great place to pop off to to get a drink with generally a smaller crowd. They also often have live music or comedy shows. I love everything about this bar, but they need better management that can improve the consistency of service. The people who work here are cool, but they work slow and often forget to check the whole bar. You have to be a squeaky wheel to keep your glass full, and that's frustrating. Like I said, the people are good, but they need leadership. Food is pretty lame. It could be better with a little effort. I know the kitchen is small and they try to keep things simple. I'm fine with that. I just think they could put a few twists into the menu items. A panini with some sundried tomatoes, perhaps? I stumbled upon this place through a set of friends heading to a Restart Bass and Drum show. Franklinton was a familiar area to me but I couldn't visual place where this bar was located until I arrived. It's within a seconds walk of Land Grant Brewery. My Uber driver and I struck up a conversation that led to asking about my destination. I told them I was headed to Rehab and they said, "Oh wow really?". In which I had to follow up with no, not that kind of rehab, this is a bar. From the name alone, Rehab can start any conversation. I came to find out most of the place has been constructed from other buildings around Ohio. Maybe that has to do with the name or the fact that we all should truly be in rehab. The bar helps local artists display their pieces and they're even for sale. Rehab is a decent size bar. Many people sit at the bar or outdoor patio. Cheap beer selection for domestics and craft, cocktails are strong and the food is decent. Sundays are big Brunch days in Columbus, and this place is just one of many with a great affordable menu. read more

Rehab is the place you go when Strongwater is over run with Yuppies and Young business professionals, and you want to save a buck on cheap eats. I'm not bashing Strongwater in anyway, because they're awesome, too. Let's just say.. you're more likely to see working artists on this side of the street grabbing some semi cheap grub as opposed to Strongwater's moderate prices. The drink selection is pretty solid, and the bartenders are always super down to earth. You'll never really get that stuck up hipster vibe that you get from a lot of places. In fact.. the past few times I've been here... it's always been just a few mellow people here and there. I've never been here and experience the negatives that often come with bars, so that's a major plus in my opinion. They have a good enough selection of drinks here. I'm not saying it's ginormous, but I've always managed to find what I needed and the bartenders again, have always been helpful in my selection process. The outdoor patio here is super chill, open to view the old warehouse buildings of Franklinton, but still secluded enough to not be an open gallery to those driving down Town Street, and it's clean. The inside is a dive without the dirtiness. They've recently acquired a pinball machine to replace the defunct electronic dart board. Artwork from local artists adorn the walls and shed some cool perspective. The menu is pretty light, but it fills the void of empty stomachs looking for a quick bite. The paninis were pretty decent and made with love, and are served with a side of chips or tots. Not the greatest gastro-contraption, but again.. it hits the spot. It's now worth heading out to Franklinton at night for drinks and it doesn't hurt that it's just a few blocks west of Downtown from the Little Palace/El Camino Inn/Dirty Frank's strip. I even ran into some C-bus peeps here, so needless to say we all have good taste. I brought some friends and it was easy to find a friendly patron to play pool with us for a while (there's soft tip darts too), PBR is always $2 a pint (unheard of in Minneapolis, so I may have overindulged a bit)) and there's a decent draught list. I just had to try Yuenglings for the first time and it was quite nice. The internet jukebox was thankfully playing good stuff for the most part and the interior is unlike any other bar, Columbus or otherwise, that I've seen before. It wasn't very crowded on a weekend night, so it may work better as a starting point if you need a packed bar nearing closing time. It'll be even better once the other new bars in Franklinton are in place nearby to work off of each other. This bar is a telling sign of where the neighborhood is heading and I'm likin' it. read more

I really like Rehab. haha! Such a pun creating name for a bar. Anyway, this place is easy to find on Town St. in Franklinton. Lots of street parking and lighting. The place is clean and shiny and new. The bar tenders are all fabulously friendly and make this a bar you feel like going back to. They offer a menu, but I haven't tried the food. They make a lot of creative drinks with everclear that they serve in ball jars that I am scared to try and they have a decent tap selection. They just started hosting team trivia on a weeknight and host live music and some other stuff randomly. It's just a relaxing place to get a drink and mingle. Check it out. It's just west of downtown so, you have no excuse if you were planning on going out anywhere near there. read more

Atmosphere: Just like the mix of materials used for the bar (it's called rehab because of the rehabbed materials from old building and schools) the atmosphere is a wonderful mix of people and music. There is not one particular scene here and younger, older, artists, jocks, rappers, folk musicians etc. all get along well here. Of all the bars in Franklinton this is definitely the local neighborhood bar. They have a pool table and great patio out back. Service: The bartenders here are really friendly and very mindful of their customers. Food: They do have food but don't really advertise it. On the weekends they have Pops come in and cook. If I could give zero stars I would. Visited this dive bar while I was in town for a marines wedding and the bartender was the rudest she could have been. Easily could have made over $200 in tips from our group of 9 and decided to be a total dick and make $0. Rehab is a great spot to meet your friends. It is never crowded, the bar tenders are friendly, and the prices are spot on. The atmosphere is really great and you are bound to have a good time. The sandwiches are also pretty good so be sure to try one. Right now they have a great special going on for a pint and a sandwich for something like $6. There are two things they need to fix, one are the stools outside. They are absurdly short for the tables and make for an incredibly awkward experience. The other is a new exhaust fan for the kitchen. My coat still stinks like fryer grease from the last time I was there a week ago. First off..I'm inflating this score because I'm impressed with what this place is trying to do. The bar checks off some of the boxes on my checklist when considering a bar, those being food, craft beer and interesting decor. However Rehab tavern falls short in its ability to make cocktails due to a limited assortment of bar basics like bitters and vermouth among other things. Rehab offers food, but again you have to be careful as to what you get as the wings are the smallest I've ever seen. If you must eat while at the bar Rehab tavern offers panini s that unlike the wings are a decent value. My recommendations to improve the experience are - Make sure the draft beer is served at the proper temperature. - Consider getting a new supplier for wings or move to a by the pound pricing system - Expand the inventory of bar staples so that more elaborate drinks can be had other than two ingredient cocktails. read more

A chill bar in my favorite, up-and-coming neighborhood in Columbus. This place is cool. Cool decor with reclaimed wood everywhere, good drink prices, decent beer selection, and close to the 400 W Rich building and Land-Grant. What's not to love!? I went with a couple friends recently and we really had a great time. It's so low-key and chill. I guess it has a dive bar vibe but it's not really a dive bar per se. It's new and modern with an shabby chic feel. I will definitely come back in the summer to enjoy their patio. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and the mixed drinks were tasty and CHEAP. I think my gin and tonic was like $4.50 for Watershed which was a STEAL. My only complaint is I wish they had more food selections because I would NEVER LEAVE but definitely not a deal breaker. Last night I witnessed the male 300-450 pound bartender let his ego get in the way when he was tipped 0 dollars for terrible service. A women was standing at the bar waiting to get a drink when multiple regulars were served before her because they put their card up in the air, she put hers up and said I'm next, I was here first after waiting at least 10 minuets. He starting going off and lecturing her about how that's not how you get your drink, and that if she acts like that she will be kicked out. She gave him a 0 tip, he saw it and yelled at her to get out and finish her drink outside in which she did. While outside, I witness him storm outside, sneak up behind her and grab her drink from behind her when she wasn't looking. In the process he punched her in the face and then when her girlfriend got involved to ask a question , he flipped her over the fencing and told her he would knock her the fuck out. This is not good service and I'm glad the victim is pressing charges. What I witnessed last night was insane, and no matter how bad your day is or if you get a 0 dollar tip you do not act like that what so ever. His last mistake was doing this to someone who was sober. read more
