While visiting the east market I ordered food and went ahead and waited at the railhouse bar. Upon entering it was lively and lot of patrons coversing. I sat at the bar so I received pretty good service on a Thursday after work around 5:00 p.m. They have $5 happy hour specials. I can't remember what drink I ordered. Regardless I remember distinctly how the service sitting at the bar was, and how the drink was so good I had two. This is a nice gathering area and is welcoming. I stayed about 20 mins until my food notification came thru my phone. I sure will be back and hope to bring some friends to try the brunch specials. read more

We were brought here for a networking event. Parking- sucked. We ended up parking at the Local Cantina just down the block. We circled the upper lot many times before deciding to circle the block and finding this other lot. Service- friendly and fast Food- The Railhouse does not actually serve food. You can get food from the East Market and bring it into the Railhouse. The Railhouse themselves serves alcohol and other drinks. See the many other reviews with attached menu. The Railhouse in East Market is a great place to come and have a drink. You can come and get food from the East Market which has a variety of different types of food. The drinks at Railhouse are always good. Yesterday, I went with a group of friends to play trivia. They have trivia every Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm. Every team gets a buzzer and the game gets pretty competitive due to the amazing host Matt. Will definitely be back. I've visited the Railhouse twice now. Once during happy hour and once on a Friday night during the summer. The interior is pretty cool with brick walls and high ceilings. The exterior has a wraparound balcony with seating. During happy hour they have specials on local spirits which I think is pretty cool-- I'd love to see more of this around town. Local businesses should support each other! When I visited during happy hour, the cocktail I had was ok but not incredible. We also waited quite a long time for the bartender to greet us. When we walked in, there wasn't any staff in the bar for several minutes. It was dead and there was only one person in the bar, but they said there hadn't been any staff present for a few. I'm taking this with a grain of salt because there was only one person working when she eventually did come back and it's obviously got to be difficult to even take a restroom break when you're the only one working. She was nice, but by the time we left another employee had arrived and I still had to walk up to the bar to cash out. Since it's the only place in the East Market to sit down comfortably and hang while you eat your goodies from other vendors, I'll probably return at some point. This is a very interesting place to visit and somewhat unique. This is a converted building where there are restaurants and shops through the building and then the Railhouse is at the end. We visited on a Sunday and were very happy that football was playing on a lot of the TVs. You can only get drinks here. We had some nice beers on draft. Fortunately, they let you bring in food from the vendors. There is a really nice selection of food. I had a burger and fries that was excellent (unfortunately vendor did not have name on the booth). They also brought the food to me. It is definitely worth a visit. read more

Awesome neighborhood bar in OTE. A small selection of speciality cocktails but you can order any of the classics. They also have a great selection of local beers and a lot of liquor options. There is ample seating at the bar and tables in the area. Once it warms up I'm sure the outdoor area will be put to good use. The staff is SO FRIENDLY. You won't feel lonely if you go to the bar by yourself. I would feel good being here as a lady by myself. Don't forget to keep your receipt, you may need it for going somewhere later ;) read more

Love the high ceilings, brick walls, and industrial look and feel of this space. Considering East Market is surrounded by the brick houses of Old Towne East, the space has been utilized to its fullest, with a great wrap-around deck off The Railhouse. There's big screen TVs around - great for catching some World Cup games. I like how this bar and cocktail space is at one end of the building, so people can get food and sit down, order a drink, and be out of the way of people roaming the food stalls. read more

Great bourbon/whiskey selection. Wish their menu better reflected that outside of your basic old fashioned/manhattan style drinks. Service is generally pleasant. I like that I can bring the food from east market into the bar. The ambiance overall is chill. Its definitely spacious which I prefer over being elbow to elbow with people at bar. read more

This place looks fabulous. The ambiance is nice. Decor is nice. All high seating. No booth. The bar looks nice. You can bring food in. That's nice. Drinks are a little expensive. They're can be watered down a little services. Excellent. However it's just a maybe for me. I just say that because I wasn't really wild and a lot of times when you go you know during happy hour time a lot of the other taverns inside the East market are closed. So if you want food you will really have a limited choice. Drink wise it is a full bar. You going to pay a little bit more for your drink but that's understandable because of the location but it wasn't something that I just felt like man I got to get back there for happy hour or man. That's a group of people go for cocktails. If we're in that area I could see that parking is easy but walk up is easy. They're awesome. Other options around that area that prices are about the same as well. So it's a maybe for me but you will get a good ambiance good decor in great service. I usually have a great time here but today me and my friend had drinks and were charged 60 bucks for two lemon drops made with tequila instead of vodka. Not two a piece just two (one each) pretty sure the bartender ripped us off bc I've never been charged this much prior to today. The Railhouse pub in the new East Market was quite a surprise. I was going to E.M. on its Grand Opening weekend and badda bing badda boom! There I am parked on a stool having a couple Sunday Bloody Mary's. What there is to report being a 1st time visit, the only patron at 10:39 a.m., is this location in the Trolley District has character. Great outdoor patio that will overlook an Ohio brewery rallying spot. Brick in the West Bexley area. Bartender said Saturday night was a huge blowout fest. Awesome location! Great space! They have a good bourbon list. They seem pretty well funded, but also kind of listless. Unfortunately, they have no drink program and also don't serve food. Upstairs the signature drinks are overly sweet, like designed for teenagers. Downstairs is a really cool speakeasy space. Just don't order a classic cocktail like a Manhattan or a daiquiri: they won't know what to do. Manhattan was all vermouth, daiquiri recipe had to be looked up and was made with coconut water (???). They should hire a professional bar manager and let them build a drink program. Which, honestly, means they're really close to being a five-star destination bar. read more

Olivia was one of the bartender during my first visit to the Railhouse. While this place has just recently opened and the East Market tenant businesses have not all moved in, she made us feel right at home. Whether it was a complex fruit juice order or a split tab between the bar and the floor, she knocked it out the park! All the staff was great and I definitely will return! read more

Visited for the first time at 5:00 on a Friday. Not busy, with a handful of tables occupied and some folks at the bar. Cool interior space with exposed beams from the original structure and lots of tv's around. Happy hour was so-so - $5 for a draft beer with the average price being about $6. Service was terrible. Had a server come by as soon as we sat down to deliver menus and came back within a couple minutes to take a drink order. Never came by our table again - for 40 minutes. She was either yukking it up with the table next to us or on her phone with her friend at the bar. I had to walk up to the bar to cash out our tab for the initial two beers and bused my own table. It's fine. The rest of the Trolley district isn't open yet, so I'm guessing this place will blossom when the rest opens. It's just a bar. Nothing fancy. The staff was really friendly. The place is brand new, so it's very clean. The music is kind of polarizing though. They played a bunch of early 2000s scene music, which is FINE, but maybe not the best for everyone. I overheard more than a few people complaining about it. It will be nicer when there's food options close by. They do have a parking lot, which is nice. It's got potential. read more

Live music on a Friday night was pretty good, one server provided excellent service and she was helpful. They don't serve food, you get food from the stalls and use this bar for drinks and seating which is fine, nice concept. It's a beautiful space, the entire building really is awesome but we will never return to this bar. Aside from one helpful server, the bar staff were inattentive, there were maybe 3 people or less at the bar at any given time with 6 staff members hanging out behind it, not really engaging or checking on people. I audibly heard one bartender, who didn't offer to help, complain when I walked away with two menus. The drinks tasted like whatever liquor they were served with and that's it, the descriptions were great and sounded memorable but I got a Manhattan, don't waste your time, worse than several dives I have been to. They were out of most ingredients, we asked about 3 other drinks and they said they didn't have the items necessary to make them as described because a shipment was late. If you are out of that many things, someone screwed up inventory, more than likely. Columbus has a lot of places where you can get a really thoughtful and flavorful drink, pair it with a casual food experience, and this bar isn't worth your money. read more

Love the East Market and this place has so much potential, but they are still chronically understaffed. They are routinely full but only have 2-3 bartenders at the bar and no one circulating for drinks. Even the bartenders seem to be newly trained and don't hustle or even acknowledge you usually. Expect to go to the bar to get your own drinks and then wait 15 to 20 minutes each time. There are no bar backs and no one clearing tables either. The patio is great but only one side of it is shaded in the afternoon and there are no umbrellas. Perhaps these are growing pains as they have only been open for three weeks and perhaps don't know what to expect, but so far they have grossly underestimated the staff and training they need to run a successful bar.
