The staff is very prejudice. They have kids working as management and have no people skills when addressing any issues. These kids are very rude and need to stay in school. Find a job elsewhere. I've been coming here for over 15 years. Thinking about going elsewhere this place is a joke. New management is need to run this place. BBB has been reported as well if you pay to get in and kids don't get along. That's no reason to have them get the right to escorting you right out the park. Because they feel the right to say who is to leave both party's should have been told to leave. The park district will have to address these petty issues as to having kids make anyone leave. As long as no one is fighting then what is it to the staff to say your kid has to leave. Come on people we can do better. This water park sucks read more

For $87 a summer, I think a pool pass that covers Ridgeland and Rehm is a pretty good deal. Locker rooms are clean. Lots of deck space. My kids love the pair of drop slides. Parking is a hassle, never enough, and at times I'm stuck in line on hot days, but otherwise I'm a fan. read more

Our family just had a terrible experience in the swimming class Rehm pool hosts. Our 3 years old is afraid of water and when we go to their swimming class my 3 yrs and another kid who is also afraid of water TOTALLY GOT IGNORED. The 2 instructors DID NOT TRY TO INTERACT WITH US AT ALL. And when I asked her what we are supposed to do since we are just left there like we are not part of the class, she said well first he need to get into the water. She has never tried to encourage the kid or what so ever. The instructors are either being idle standing in the pool or helping the kids who loves water. WE ARE TOTALLY IGNORED. I was out of disappointment and talked to their supervisor for the full refund. DO NOT BRING YOUR KID IF THEY ARE AFRAID OF WATER. read more

I'd give this place a better rating if 4 boys would not have been bullying my 10 year old son. My family and I were just trying to have a good time and they were making fun of him because they thought he had a disability. Nobody deserves to be bullied and I said something immediately to them and the one 11 year old's mother. She was nice and made them apologize but I can tell it still hurt my son's feelings. Hopefully this bullying doesn't happen too often here. read more

Huge pool facility with children's water playground on one end and a deep diving pool on the other. Brought the family out for open swim on the weekend. Every hour, the lifeguards call a break and everyone under age 18 has to get out of the pool for 15 minutes, presumably for safety and to prevent fatigue. $7/person when someone in your party has a membership. read more

Hung out here for a couple hours today. My husband and I are sans children and we very much appreciated the adults only sun deck. Although, it seemed for the most part the children here were pretty well behaved for pool standards. Hubby enjoyed jumping off the diving boards during the random adult-only time periods (15 min every-so-often when only adults could be on the pool/diving area, score!) $9 is a little pricey if you don't plan on spending at least half the day here, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than having your own pool. I will warn about one thing, which can happen at any public pool. A little kid had a bit of an accident (#2) in the pool, but they shut down the pool immediately and they cleaned it up really fast, then let the pool filter for a bit before letting anyone back in the water. The whole process took about 30 min. We headed to the concession stand and got ourselves a slush to wait it out. read more

This is an amazing public pool facility. They've got Olympic sized diving platforms, a huge lap/play pool, and a no-edge water play park for the little ones. Plus locker rooms, food areas, sun decks, etc. I've been coming here for 34 years (as long as I've been alive), with the exception of the years I lived in other states. They've upgraded it and maintained it well. Sure, there are down sides -- it's staffed by teenagers and filled with screaming kids on hot days. Cause it's a pool. If you want peace and quiet, move to Iowa. I bet they have empty pools there, and they're probably cheaper, too. read more

I actually enjoyed going here. I hadn't gone to a public pool in many years, but the day was hot and some swimming needed to be done. I loved the adult-only swim time, but it needed to be longer. It was definitely crowded and not all the rules were followed about what you are and are not allowed to wear in the water, but it was still quite enjoyable. The kids section has a walk in entrance to the water, so little kids who are only crawling so far can actually enjoy the pool in a way other than being held the entire time. If you are a resident of oak park, you can get a resident pass which is a good deal if you plan on going more than 3 times in a summer, but don't want to take the plunge for a full pass. The resident pass lowers the cost of your admission to six dollars each time you go rather than nine, but the resident pass itself is $12 each. Season passes are around $60. read more

Park and pool are always clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. Due to the cooler summer this year, the operating hours have gotten cut, and the concession hours are even shorter. Wish there were more parking accommodations. The main parking lot is also rented out to permit holders. People are always wondering if it's okay to park or if they'd get a ticket. Luckily we live close enough to walk; but if we drove we'd have to park on a side street. Swimming lessons held here by the Park District of Oak Park are ok. If you're looking for something inexpensive to get your kid acclimated to water and teach them how to swim to the wall for safety, this program will suit you fine. The instructors are sweet and seem to enjoy their time with the students. If you're looking for proper form and technique - consider private lessons or a program affiliated with a swim team. There is not a lot of movement (student advancement) within the program due to the high volume of participants. When you register, you better make sure you select the level in which your child should be challenged. I should have placed my daughter in the Intermediate level because the students in Advanced Beginner spend more time on the wall than actually swimming. This is mainly due to the various degrees of skill and parents registering children in the wrong levels. Practicing kicks with hands on the wall doesn't give the students the sense of forward movement required to execute the proper kick. By the end of the session, the students are just getting to learn the basic skill; rather than working on the stamina needed to pass to the next level. Also, there isn't as much demonstration from the instructors for the students to view proper form nor is there a lot of form correction during instruction. read more

My kids love this pool for the water slides, the platform diving and the diving board. There is even a rock climbing wall. I like that it had a great toddler pool, sand area and a babies pool fenced off from the bigger kids. They sell pizza and ice cream and other junk food. It is a favorite for the kids, but I have notice this year that cleanliness has taken a backseat. The ladies bathroom were filthy and out of toilet paper, which has happened more than once. It's for these reason I give it 3 stars. Other wise this is a great pool for kids and families. read more

I spent many a sunny afternoon here with the young ones, who now are too cool to be seen at the pool with their mother (and worse yet, their mother wearing a swimsuit). Rehm Pool has some fun sprays toward the kids' end (it has a handicapped-accessible zero edge) and a sand play area. It also has a diving well equipped with drop slides, diving boards, and platforms. After splitting my foot open on a crack somewhere in the main pool, I stopped going all together. The water is clean at the beginning of the summer, however, toward the end of June random floaters begin to appear and the water becomes cloudy. The entrance fee AND prices set for pool passes are overpriced for the quality of the facilities. Park District's response to a price inquiry was that fees are comparable to other area pools. Note: Chicago Park District Pool Pass is $45 for the season and $8 per entrance fee and pools are 70% less crowded. In addition, Rehm pool severely lacks in comparable quality. At least 30% of visitors, on any given day, are not from Oak Park, but from surrounding Berwyn, Cicero and Chicago. Where does the pool win? At convenience. For many South Oak Parker's the pool is within a walking distance or a quick bike ride. If you don't mind getting in the car, the better bet is the Forest Park pool. For $9.50 (non-resident), you can actually relax, not worry about injuries and enjoy some cleaner water read more

Only park i know with 4 different sections for the kiddies to play. You have the woodchip area, foam padded area, and 2 little kid areas. Has little hand rail individual trains that goes around the foam part of the park. Has a sand volleyball court! Very upset that their website had not been updated about pool time changes when school is back in session. Here we are ready for a new pool season. After paying for a new pool pass I find out they decided to take away the adult only deck. Saying they need room for extra people since the other pool is closed for repairs. Since they are having the day camps come in before the pool is opened for the day they have available the other side of the adult deck that they took away from the adults a few years ago. That was being used to stash the towels from all the day camp kids. Common Sense! There is ample room around the pool for the extra families using the other side of the adult deck. If the people in charge use there brains the might decide to put back the rule that was in place many years ago that the chairs are for adults only. I do hope that who ever is in charge this year makes sure ALL THE RULES ARE FOLLOWED. We need adults that can tell another adult if need be what the rules are. I hope the people who decide how things are to work this year keep in mind how the people who have been going there for over 25 years feel. Hopefully they will get it right. read more

parking is absolutely horrible!!! And the music was too loud (raunchy hard rock and rap - - headache music - - if you want a peaceful afternoon at poolside, just forget it!!) and the sand had animal feces in it.
