I'm wondering why no one addresses the daily issue of guys using the mirror in the locker room (…read morelockers visible right behind mirror) and the mirrors that are like 4 foot in front of toilet stalls over the sinks for selfies on their phones and even setting up tripods to film themselves ( not sure how they aren't capturing others in these videos as we walk or dress behind them) though CFX website says this is not allowed. No signage in locker rooms and when I asked the manager if they have a policy against doing this he said no. Asked several other managers at their other facilities and no one said there was a policy forbidding use of phones or cameras in locker rooms. Seems pretty obvious they don't care about the expectation of privacy one has in a locker room / bathroom even if the selfie session unintentionally captured someone changing for example. And no corporate phone number available to members or employees to contact them regarding any issues. It comes across sketchy.when you email them with the address given by multiple employees, no response ever given. Honestly if it wasn't so convenient to visit I'd quit. Corporate shows lack of respect for its members.

It was a little bit more expensive than blink but I was willing to play the price because it was a 24-hour gym and it was close to my house. I did notice that the gym looked a little bit older and less modernized than blink fitness but I was happy enough to just find a gym close to my house. I noticed several things after being a member for about a month now. 1) Just tonight several hours ago, I brought my own water but half was full and I was going to refill it and I noticed the gym fountains water spouts had mold/rust on it. Being in the military and having lived in the barracks that have had mold in it it's really a health risk and can make someone sick. To have mold means that those fountains have been neglected cleaning. Anybody who has cleaned a water fountain would be able to notice that. 2) The gym equipment is relatively kind of old and like others said, not maintained enough. The treadmill looks old and I miss the blink fitness treadmills, which even included a built in fan. 3) I in the men's restroom, they have those portable hand dryers that are motion sensored, but they can't have motion sensored urinals and sinks? I hate touching things and nobody bothers to flush the urinal because you have to touch the handle so when you go to the urinal it reeks the of pee. 4. The most expensive thing I think is the personal trainer. The training sessions are once a week and over $100 I think it's $140 for a personal trainer, once a month. I think that's a little too much for once a week for a month if you ask me. I would have considered if it was $100 a month for once a week, maybe... Whole my experience was only one class with Angela, it was top notch and I went home feeling great. She followed up with my visit, and I was very happy. Unfortunately for me The class time didn't work well with my schedule. I also looked into private training but unfortunately it was a little pricey for me. The facility was very clean and had lots of options! Additionally it was very easy to park at for the area.

But, 2 of those things (community and staff) can only get you so far when you're paying a ton of money. Since I've been going to FFC (about 7 years total?) and starting at Elmhurst, it was pretty good. The cost, from the beginning has been high - but, what you get in return is less of a crowd. With that being said, FFC Oak Park has hit me with a monthly increase per year since I've been there and I don't think I can do it much longer. It's unfortunate because its a decent gym but, I've never been to a gym ( and I've been to quite a few ) where the monthly payment has increased yearly.

When I finally brought it up with the manager, he tried to turn it back on me and offered absolutely no help.

They have decent hours to come workout. The locker room is also kept nice and clean, and has lockers that you can self-program daily so you don't need to bring a lock! I have showered there- the water is hot and the pressure was good but the curtain is way too small for the shower! There was no way to have full coverage so I ended up doing a little dance to stay hidden the whole time I showered. I don't think many use the showers so it wasn't like I was seen by anyone, thankfully. They do not offer towels, so bring your own for showering! They offer some good classes with nice variety too- arrive early to guarantee your spot! (You will get a colored ticket to claim your spot in class). The fitness studios, though, get way too cramped due to the popularity of classes. I would think they should just offer less tickets to class or try to move them to one of the park district studio areas or basketball court! It's a great place overall and a great deal on price per month too.

They spent over 1 Million $ renovating this gym last month. It looks nice, but there are a lot of…read moreissues. There are a lot of new TVs on the various cardio machines, BUT they only broadcast a small limited amount of channels. Some of the brand new machines are in need of repair since they were not installed properly. For instance, the triceps extension machine is not adjusted properly, so you can't get a full range of motion. Many of the new elliptical machines are not leveled properly so the entire machine rocks side to side and feel like they are going to tip over. This is the only gym in the area that is open until 11 PM on week nights. It always has a lot of patrons in the late evening. LA Fitness should consider keeping this gym open until midnight or extending the hours of other clubs in the Western Cook County suburbs.
