We informed the staff that we were inexperienced and asked if we could be shown the basics. At first, they appeared reluctant to do so, but quickly turned around and took care of us. Pricing was simple: $10 per person for a pass, $10 per pole, and about $6 for bait. The bait was frozen, but they gave me a bag and pointed me to a faucet to thaw it. After learning the basics, my son and I had a blast. Other anglers were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was fantastic. We'll be back in summer 2027. With a near‑perfect 24/25 score, I rate this establishment an A.

Easy to get to beach. Shallow calm water. There are many families and children (mid August 2024) and it was peaceful and chill. Clean gendered public toilets and outdoor shower if you need. Friendly life guards on duty. Lifeguard Trent was just wonderful to chat with and watch him help others with kindness and care. The Cape May ferry terminal is near and the ferry comes and goes. The Lion's club hosts a stand that rents umbrellas, rafts and other beach gear. They also sell hotdogs, pizza, icees and snacks. I had strawberry-lemon which was refreshingly perfect. Beyond-the-call-of-duty Lifeguard update! These pushy women sat beneath the lifeguard chair and after asking where the rental shack is about 10 times and being told--they said they couldn't walk there (it's not far) to get an umbrella. They whined and whined. Trent took the umbrella down from the lifeguard chair and set it up for them to use!!! So so generous of you Trent! I highly recommend this beach if you're looking for ease. Parking likely easier earlier in the day. I beached til evening!

This is a hidden spot in Delaware and its so beautiful. You won't find many people here but you will find your perfect quiet place whether kayaking, biking, crabbing, hiking, or swimming ( public boat ramp). The observation tower is the best view of the Assawoman Bay and wildlife . You will see lots of bald eagles, river otters, giant woodpeckers , blue heron, egrets. SMH why all those cars are sitting in traffic to go to the beach when you can go to the bay ? It's completely free ...lots of fishing and crabbing , sailing , paddle boarding and don't forget to bring the dogs because they are allowed here!

The campgrounds are clean. You have access to fishing . You are able to walk to the beach but we drive to the parking lot and the parking pass given by the campground covered the parking spot. The beach has lifeguards and there are two restaurants and shops. The beach has restrooms and bathhouses within free same center as the restaurants. They do not have BBQ grills. Bring your stove tops to cook and food that's doesn't required heating. They don't allow outside wood for any type of grills. You can find additional information on the website. The area is kid friendly and secure. They have a nice playground. I will try this location again.

Something about the sprocket was bent. Ugh! Instead, I sprayed some sunblock on my arms neck and face, put on a hat, and took a walk. The beach is stunning. Flat, warm, sunny and not overly crowded for a July weekend. While the beach is not step free, they're trying hard to make it as accessible as possible with mats and ramps that can support a wheelchair. That's awesome. I did see a bunch of offroaders. Apparently, you can get a permit to bring your 4WD onto the beach. Pretty darned awesome, that is! What are those huge concrete structures? They're WWII-era bunkers! Yes, these huge installations were built to counter the fear of German U-boats invading Philadelphia via the Delaware River. I got a very low key vibe on this beach and I found it to be relaxing here. I missed out on much of the stores/restaurants in town being open as I was there a couple of days before the start of the season, but it looked as though there were a lot of options, all with in a 10-15 minute walk.
