The building which houses this spa is pretty simple, however the decor of the spa itself is very warm and relaxing. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful and very good at what she does. I was in pain when I walked in but very relaxed when I walked out. She continuously asked how I was doing and how each method she used was feeling. She has plenty of experience and a great deal of compassion for her clients. If you are looking for a spa that cares, please call Kathy at Renew Age Spa in Oxford and tell her Kevin and Mary Ann strongly recommended her. You won't regret it!!!

I have gotten some decent massages in NE CT, but wanted to try to find a great one. Well, thanks to Heather at Renew, I did! Let's face it, it's a weird thing to meet someone for 2 minutes, then enter a room, strip down, and lay on a table. Well, at least it is for me (to each his or her own). But, Heather made the experience super comfortable. She has a nice energy and I felt at ease. That's all well and good, but her hands, though? Her hands are...magic. She asked for my pressure preference, checked on my comfort, and had at it with my knots. I was locked up pretty good in my shoulders and hamstrings thanks to a new workout routine. When I left, my muscles were loose and my tension was gone. The outside looks like what it is - an old brick professional building. I thought it was pretty cool, actually. Then, I was impressed with how inside the spa was decorated. It was gorgeous! I loved the colors and details in the massage room. I completely forgot I was essentially in a small office building. So, if you are in the general area and need a great massage, check this place out. The rates are reasonable even without a Groupon. I'm looking forward to booking my next appointment.

Every appointment is consistently great and she talks with me about where my problem areas are so she can determine the best course of action for that appointment. As someone who works on a computer all day for her job, my trouble areas tend to be my upper back and neck. I've also recently developed some sciatic nerve issues and Jenn is thoughtful and thorough in helping to address those problems, as well. Jenn has also instructed me on stretching exercises to help with my problem areas, and I can't say I'm always consistent in doing them, but when I do, they help a lot! If you're looking for a thoughtful, thorough and highly skilled massage therapist with the expertise to work through different issues patiently and effectively with long-term benefits - go see Jenn!

That being said- I just want you to know that this is a no-frills and straight to the point service. If you're looking for a fluffy massage in an actual spa..... this is NOT the place for you. It's a little noisy, especially since the "door" to your room is a curtain. They also speak very little English. But they are SO kind and give amazing service! The massage I was given was definitely not a traditional Swedish massage but more of a targeted, deep, therapeutic service. I did 90 mins and that consisted of massage with hot stones, hot towels and a lovely foot massage! I literally just got home 10 mins ago from there and I can barely keep my head up, lol. Long Term Client Summary of Experience- 1. Excellent massage…read moreevery time. 2. Practitioners are all great with individual approaches. Roberta can recommend a practitioner for your particular needs. 3. Prices are low to allow for greater accessibility, this does not effect the professionalism or unique healing atmosphere of MassageMore. 4. There are now (9.1.18) individual rooms with serenity infusing the entire atmosphere. 5. Pregnancy massages are available. Every licensed practitioner does study pregnancy massage as part of their curriculum, but this type of massage requires more sheet and pillowcase coverage and is offered at a slightly higher price to include extra washing. 6. Front desk reception is cordial and either Roberta or one of the practitioners is there for you to talk to and answer any questions you may have. The reception area is a lovely, quiet place where you may be greeted by two mellow and elderly dogs that are usually sleeping. They will not approach you unless you reach out to them; if you do, they are loving and friendly. There is an alternative entry for those who are allergic to dogs. 7. There is time both before and after your massage to discuss any specific issues or ideas you may have. 8. The practitioner takes notes and a file is kept for reference. Specific Observations- MassageMore is a peaceful and sacred space where the energy is relaxed. It is the only location where I can walk in knowing I will be greeted with warmth and personal interactions, almost like walking back to a very different time. Roberta is a natural healer and a lifelong seeker of evolution both on a personal and worldwide scale. Her belief in massage as part of a larger more comprehensive body, mind, soul healing and integration work is apparent in her knowledgeable presence and willingness to communicate with each and every client. It is truly an honor to walk in a bit early and enjoy the welcoming greeting and atmosphere. Your practitioner will speak to you and get to know you and your issues before the appointment. Friendliness, professionalism and an excellent massage are what you will find here.
