Scheduled my mom and I for a one hour reflexology appointment after a week of residency at GCU. It was a much deserved hour of relaxation! The massage was a little rough and there was a little bit of a language barrier, but overall we both enjoyed it. For all you folks that would like to compare this place to the Montelucia, you're just better off going to a spa and spending $200+ for a 5 star treatment because this place isn't your cup of tea. Boy, BYE! This is a traditional Chinese form of massage. This is definitely not the soft tissue massage you're looking for. Sorry. It's therapeutic for myself since I'm always sore from working out, but for most consumers it may not be their ideal image of a massage. I like the pressure points they apply to your feet and toes! Amazing! I came in there with a migraine and walked out feeling 100%. I love the elbow digging deep into my sore muscles as it works out the knots... and holy head massage! Not that head, perves! The head where your eyes belong to. It's amazing!!!! Don't worry, this isn't your happy ending type of place, it's clean, you're fully clothed and you're always covered with a towel and sheet. This place smells of Chinese medicine. I read some reviews of people saying it stinks! What did you expect it to smell like knowingly you walked into a non-English speaking Chinese massage parlor? It's like me walking into an Indian restaurant and expecting it to smell like Oreganos. Of course it's going to smell like musky armpits from the curry but it doesn't mean the food isn't absolutely bomb!! Come on peeps! Cut this place some slack! The only flaw is that, they do oftentimes talk to each other while they are working on you, they may answer calls or attend to a client who walked in the door if no one is avail to greet the customer. It's rare, but it does happen. But if you can put that aside and enjoy the $40 massage, you'll be in good hands. Wear workout attire. Maybe leggings and a tank top for women, shorts and t-shirt or tank for guys. Some of the staff that is doing work on ya like to give you a nice stretch to enhance mobility. It's just nice to be prepare so you aren't uncomfortable in jeans. Be prepared to be holding onto dear life as they eff the poop out of your back getting out all your knots. You'll thank them after! Uhhh... don't expect much English speaking. There's a huge language barrier! You'll just get a nod and head shake and yes answers. Just go in there with good intentions, and you'll enjoy it! They upsell you once you get in there and ended up convincing me to do the full body massage...what a mistake as they only know one level of massage and it was dreadfully painful. I had to ask them several times to lessen the pressure, but their English is not very good, so it didn't seem to matter. I tried out the 60' combo massage today, after glowing recommendations from a friend and had a nice, relaxing experience. A warning however: don't come here if you're seeking a western-style massage (e.g. Swedish or deep tissue), customizable massage (b/c of the language barrier), or "spa-like" experience. What they do deliver is no-frills, competent, and very reasonably priced traditional Chinese bodywork. As mentioned in another review, wear loose fitting comfortable clothing, as you keep your clothes on. My 60' combo session was a combination of foot reflexology and Tui na (http://balanceflow.com/BAtuina/), incorporating rhythmic pressure, pushing/pulling, long stroking motions, stretching, shaking and tapping/percussion, with some similarities to shiatsu and Thai massage. Primary focus was on the feet, spine/back and head/scalp. Didn't incorporate the kneading or focus in on individual muscle groups like in Western massage, so if I'd never had Chinese bodywork before, I would have had very different expectations. The place was clean and my therapist was very professional, although he spoke essentially no English. I tend to like very deep pressure with my massages and could have tolerated much more than was delivered. Another Yelper commented on the masseuse leaving the room "to use the toilet" with the bathroom door wide open. In fact, they're discarding the water from your foot soak and then getting hot towels to clean off your feet after the foot reflexology part. I got the full 60' and they took me right away as a walk-in. I'll be back to try the chair massage when I need focused work on my upper back/neck and maybe even a 90' combo massage or foot reflexology session too! read more

Definitely get what you pay for. What other reviewers said is accurate... Good massage for the money, but the pressure is really firm and you're basically in an open room. It wasn't as skilled or relaxing as a more typical spa massage, but it was a good walk in when I needed a massage for my sore muscles. read more

This was a horrible experience for me. I was really looking for a relaxing foot massage and hand massage. The person who they gave me I believe didn't understand English and I asked him 4 times to stop massaging my arms and shoulders that it hurt. I was in tears! I don't know what to say. The first time me and my friend went, it was awesome. They really seem to work out the kinks even though it is somewhat painful, they really get the knots out. And $40 for full body massage walk in is decent, right? The second time I went, get ready! I think the guys name was pronounced Nee how. And I thought it was weird that he was going down the front of my pants and copped a clit feel and then during the breast massage, he squeezed my nipple. I thought that was a little much. And I am pretty sure my hand grazed his penis on several occasions. Was it weird that he gave me an an Eskimo kiss at the end. Yes. Was it weird that he went in for a hug at the end? Yes. First off I would like to say I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I have been to many foot reflexology spas around the valley and I'm the first to always give them positive praise over traditional massage. I made my appointment for 7:30 PM for 1 1/2 hour massage for $60 for two people. I was a little behind with my appointment and the spot called me at 7:37 PM I was in the door by 7:38 PM and my massage started at 7:40 PM. The massage itself was mediocre at best, it was a lot of repetitive mild effort work. My friends masseuse was in addition to not putting a lot of effort was receiving multiple text messages and would stop and was responding while in the middle of massaging.they finished our massage at 9 PM on the dot and I said thank you for my massage got dressed looked at the time and realized that they had shorted us each 10 minutes. Now I do realize I was 10 minutes late and they do close at nine but either don't charge me for 20 minutes that we didn't get out of our massages or if you refuse to work past 9 o'clock inform us- "due to your lateness we are only able to offer you a one hour massage" When I brought it to the attention of the masseuse he started arguing with me that "it was only five minutes and we close at 9 and if it that big deal, sit in sample chair and I give you five minutes more" but by this time we knew that five minutes of an un-relaxing massage was pointless so we declined and just left I mean after all that already closed at nine. Just extremely disappointed with my experience and unfortunately it was my friend first time at one of the spas so I was really sad that this was his first experience. Definitely do a little research and find a good spa, they do exist. read more

I don't normally believe in writing bad reviews- but this place has left still feeling uncomfortable over a week after my visit. I have tried a place with my husband in Scottsdale that is similar in concept to this place (Thai royal something)- and it was great! However I was left here leaving like I was really taken advantage of. I'm 9 months pregnant and the man who gave me my foot/back/neck massage was not only unprofessional in his techniques but definitely touched/tried to touch body parts that made me extremely uncomfortable... While massaging my collar bone area he kept massaging way too close to my breasts (more than even a licensed professional massage therapist does when you're not clothed) ... To the point I had to tell him to stop... And as soon as I did he stopped the massage and said I was done... Thank goodness. He kept feeling my baby kick when he was doing my arms and sides- which was weird. I should have stopped the massage right as soon as I felt it was inappropriate- I literally was not even relaxed by it- my brain was racing- I was thinking the whole time I should just leave... But I felt awkward and kept thinking itd get better. I will not be returning... And hope that other people find this review helpful! read more
