The carpet had red stains that looks very suspicious. Could have been crayon or marker but it could have been body fluids. The musty smell really bothered my asthma. What do you usually use for your Bathroom, Shower, wear everyday, a Special Outfit...Sporting Goods you need? Go through this for Fast Pack Time! Use Empty Boxes if your suitcase is full and PUT THOSE TIMERS IN YOUR HOUSE FOR LIGHTS! Make sure you check Oven, Refrigerator etc. before you leave! I drove S 51 but accidentally turned to soon at the Sunoco and Landed on Interstate 70! Don't Panic! There is an Intersection to get you turned around and see a cool road down below. I get to the GetGo and Find a Road leading past 2 Budget Motels. Then...it's like where is everything? I went back to GetGo. I called Nichole and she talked me through on how to get there. Then I saw a Deer run across the Road and I told her about it and she said be VERY careful! Lots of Deer run over this Road. Finley Road is still very Country Based and it being close to I 70 the Deer don't care! Then I stop the car. Left side of this Road is Mr. Possum going "yo." I'm like "Nichole there is a Possum and he's looking at me and I dunno what he wants to do." Mr. Possum decides to stare at me some more then run in front of the car to a lawn in front of a house! HOW COOL IS THIS? You get to a Town and there is a blacked out 84 Lumber sign and this makes me sad. How many 84 Lumbers are left in the world? But then we get to Holiday Inn Express and Nichole is still on the phone with me and she's outside and I roll up. I am so GRATEFUL to be here! ANYTHING FOR AC! I totally would make a cheap date. (turned out I ended up Wednesday to Saturday Total.) They have a Pool but I am here to Bowl so there was that! AMF Lanes had my Ball and I got to Play there for awhile. Looking for places to eat? Go further into Town there is Giant Eagle and Lots of Places! Ifyou drive far enough N51 Try Sheetz the Salads are Excellent! The TV is Awesome at Holiday Inn Express but i managed to mess it up. I got it fixed though so it was GREAT! Front Desk knows how to do these things! I even got the opportunity next day to check on my house to see if all is good it was. I don't live far, but without AC its just a crappy place to live. Try Bills Golf Land! Its close by. Just N 51 and you will find it! It's for Sale but Great for All Golfers! A Real Course, a Driving Range and Little Mini Course A Restaurant and you can try out other ways to Golf. Nice Clean Bathrooms keep them that way when you leave! Make sure you get anything you brought to bring home and re make the bed so it too is nice! Complimentary Breakfast has MAKE YOUR OWN PANCAKES! It's so Fast Easy and FUN! It's nice you can meet the same Guests here and there. At Breakfast you can eat with some folks who are also doing Vacations and other things of interest. The DoubleTree in Cranberry Twp. She mentioned that the hotel doesn't like for you to use third party apps (Hotwire, in this case) because our reservation was different than what the hotel sees. The room was clean although the walls were incredibly scuffed, which gave it a rundown appearance. Nothing a fresh coat of paint couldn't fix. Beds were super comfy and I appreciate the multiple pillows. Bathrooms were clean and shower was decent. The continental breakfast was a step up from what most hotels offer. There were many hot and cold options, including some lower calories options that I appreciated (egg white omelettes, turkey sausage). Coffee was good. The downsides are that the hotel is a bit dated (popcorn ceilings, lots of geometric patterns.) But all in all, a great stopover.

The rooms are beautiful and clean, the continental breakfast is fresh, hot, and sizeable, and everyone was very helpful, polite, and attentive (see staff, supra). Our guests were all quite happy with their rooms and with the hotel's amenities. The hotel even let us use extra rooms to store our wedding supplies in the days leading up to the wedding. Rehearsal dinner: we had a pizza party rehearsal dinner in the hotel's banquet room. The staff set up a really neat table for our 30-person casual dinner. We brought in pizza and beer and had a blast. Our wedding: perfect. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception. We rented a tent and a dance floor and hooked up lights and other electricity to the hotel's outlets. Following the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour inside the hotel and a reception outside in the tent. We brought in a caterer and our own alcohol and had an amazing time. Everything was just perfect. I wouldn't have thought a hotel in Bentleyville would be the setting for our perfect wedding, but there it is.

There was a major lack of hospitality, which is a very big issue when you're in the hospitality business. It started with the greeting, or should I say, lack of greeting at checkin. They asked my name, looked me up, assigned my room, and sent us on our way. The greeting I'm used to is being called by my name & being thanked for being an elite member. Who doesn't like that little extra effort/ acknowledgment? Then we arrived at our room and saw the extra pillows requested on my reservation were not there. Again, a little thing, but they add up. The room itself was ok. It was a suite so it had the extra seating area which I like. The best thing about the stay was the bed. It was super comfortable! Unfortunately there was an expressway outside our window which made it difficult to sleep at night. The breakfast was at best 'ok'. The set up of the room was strange, with the area for making waffles and getting the other hot foods in a tiny triangle shaped area that couldn't hold more than 2 people comfortably. Wish I had taken a picture. On our 2nd and final morning there, the girl working in this area never got off her phone. She didn't put it down even when people needed her assistance. Were they all bothering her? Checkout was similar to checkin, except the girl working there never even looked up and just nodded her head when I set my key on the counter. Again, a little hospitality goes a long way. Also, the bathroom floor was sticky, and the pool was super cloudy the whole time we were there So we didn't even attempt using it. Lenora gave us plenty recommendations on navigating Perryopolis, where to go for dinner, etc. My son enjoyed being slightly pampered by her, like having an extra relative showering him with gifts. I personally loved hearing Lenora's life stories. As a foodie wanna-be, she's an amazing and inspiring woman. My only regret is that we were not able to eat in her restaurant. From what I heard and read, it's a great place to dine. We hope to have another opportunity to visit her inn or restaurant in the future!

Friday night I arrived at the Clarion Inn in Belle Vermon, Pennsylvania as I was attending Saturday's Pittsburgh Cigar Box Guitar Festival. I was told by the nice lady at the counter that they were putting me in a non smoking room on the second floor, getting a continental breakfast, and warned me they were working on redoing the second floor. Not that big of a deal. Until I got up there. As I exited the elevator, the overpowering smell of dead skunk mixed with Back River Treatment Plant Eau De Parfum was overpowering. Then entering my "non smoking room", the stench of cheap cigarettes mixed with body funk and desperation literally knocked me down. Between the falling plaster from the ceiling and a foul smelling room, I turned the air conditioner on, which helped. Being too tired from a long drive, I settled in for the night. At 7 a.n. in the morning, I got into the shower. The water started to back up, so I quickly got my shower and after dressing, notified the desk. The "continental breakfast" had a locked small refrigerator of juIces and milk. No eggs or side dishes (including coffee for the breakfast), and stale cereal. Not wasting time, I left for a diner for breakfast before the Festival. When I returned, I almost kicked over a five gallon bucket with liquid that resembled urine by the elevator. I made my way to the room to find they did not clean my room, nor did they even replace the dirty linen, nor remove the trash. I have documented in the following photos, the filthy and cluttered hallway, and how nothing was done. If you need a hotel room in this part of the country, avoid at all costs the Clarion Hotel in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. $121 a night won't even get you a breakfast you deserve. I would give a zero rating if I could.
