I thought it would be wise to find a hotel close by rather than risk facing early morning traffic driving in from Pittsburgh. Connellsville was as close as I could get. Sitting on the edge of the Youghiogheny River, this hotel was a welcome sight after a long drive from Pittsburgh. I reserved a room with a King bed and river view. The view proved to be irrelevant because I couldn't see the river in the dark. Just as I entered the room, the fire alarm went off, so I went downstairs to find no one gathered. In fact, the patrons at the lobby bar didn't leave their stools. I couldn't tell when I could return to my room because the front desk staff was nowhere to be seen. A false alarm, I guess. For $127, I found the room satisfactory and quiet enough. Dining options were paltry unless I was willing to drive. There was a casual spot next door, though I walked ten minutes to an alternative spot for sushi. I got up early because Fallingwater was still a 40-minute drive away. We stayed at Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore before this Comfort Inn. Amazingly, it was a much better experience. We had two rooms. The rooms are very clean. We had river-side rooms with the view of the river. The location is amazing. It is right on the Youghiogheny River and next to the GAP bike trail. Make sure to ask for a river-view room if possible. There is a nice porch in the back from the breakfast area where you can enjoy the beautiful river and the trains rolling past in the distance. The hotel has a little bar, the rates are very reasonable. Also, make sure you do not miss the restaurant next door, The River's Edge. Really great food, great service. The elevator was not working when we checked in. So we carried the luggages up the stairs. Not a big deal. Still won't take away from a great hotel stay. This Comfort Inn is a hidden gem. We certainly will book again when visiting the area next time.

We quickly gave them some information and made our way down there. Upon our entry we were greeted warmly by Liberty the proprietor. She was wonderful and made check in super easy. I made myself some tea, helped myself to some gingersnap cookies, and got settled in for the night. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower had a never ending (or so it seemed) supply of hot water and there was more than enough towels. I quickly felt at easy in the room and knew I would be getting a good nights rest. Breakfast, Liberty informed us, was held at two times, 7:30 and 9am. We picked to have ours early, which I was against, but it turned out wonderful. We got to eat a nice early breakfast and then went back to bed! Check out was at 11 so we got a few more hours of relaxing in before we hit the hiking trails. Yes, a late start, but the bed was too comfortable to leave! Breakfast was delicious. Scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, and a fruit cup. They had orange juice, coffee, and tea. What a treat! The food was perfect. I could not ask for a better breakfast. This place was perfect. I would stay here again in a second. It was also so close to the attractions of Ohiopyle that it would be stupid not to suggest everyone to stay here!

Trophies of a number of animals were placed throughout the area. We were checked in promptly. A coffee bar was available in the lobby too. After a long day of driving we most wanted a relaxing evening. We walked around outside and enjoyed the field of daisies birds chirping and the sun setting. The room was a nice size with two queen beds, fridge, microwave, and coffee station. 4 pillows per bed and plenty of towels and toiletries. We had a restful sleep on comfortable beds in our meticulously cleaned and quiet room.

The location is super convenient, right off of 70. It is very clean and nice appointed. The staff was very pleasant. The rooms are good size and ours included a fridge & micro. In that we were traveling with two kids, having the toilet & shower separate from the sink area is helpful. The toilet/shower room is of good size. Shower was very clean and plenty of room. The shower head had a couple of settings, but not a very wide span on the water temp range but we found there was plenty of hot water. The beds are comfortable but wished they were queens instead of full. The pillows are great and they give you 3 per bed which is nice. It was pretty easy to control the room temperature with a number of choices from cool, heat to just fan. They have directional vents on the window units to direct the into the room rather than just up the window. The kids very much enjoyed the pool hot tub area. The hot tub was plenty warm and is under a window patio area so we could sit and watch the snow fall. Plenty of towels in the pool area. The breakfast/lobby area has plenty of seating. There is a wide selection for breakfast. Four hot entries, make your own waffles, cereals, breads/pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, milk and juice selections. The person keeping the food fresh is on top of things and is more than happy to help you. The breakfast choices were a nice surprise. We used the Marriott app to book, check-in and check-out and it was super easy. When we went to leave and turn out keys in, the front clerk asked where we were going handed our keys back. The interstate was closed and she said to feel free to hang out until it opened back up. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and will aim for this location as we travel back and forth the to the east coast.

It's pretty quiet where it's located, somewhat off the highway so we didn't here much traffic noise. It's a little awkward to get to I guess if your not real familiar with the area, it's not inconvenient though either. Front desk staff was nice and helpful when we asked for extra towels and checking us is pretty late the first night. Breakfast was limited pretty much because of the COVID. We normally ate somewhere else close by anyways so it wasn't a big deal really for us. Room was clean and looked pretty kept up. Only thing I did notice was a black smudge mark on the dust cover of the bed and a odd looking stain or two on the upholstery of the chair/otterman. Other than that, it was nice room with a king bed which was comfortable. Small fridge in room and microwave as well. Bathroom was clean and good water pressure in the shower. Some places your better off with a garden hose probably but not here. House keeping was polite and had a few funny conversations in the hallway with them. Did a great job fixing up our room each day I think. Overall it's been the best stay we've had when coming back to Greensburg to visit and we'll be staying here the next time as well. I'd recommend staying here if your looking for a nice, clean and quiet place to stay while in town.

They gave a good overview of the hotel including telling us where the various amenities were and when they are available. She also clearly explained where the elevators were and which direction we would need to head once we got off the elevators. The room itself was clean and well maintained. It was fairly standard, minimalist and modern in its decor. The bed was soft and there were plenty of pillows (although they were a bit thin, but there were enough of them that that wasn't an issue). There is plenty of space in the room and the TV worked well. It was also nice and quiet. I didn't hear other guests or noise from things like the elevators. The breakfast had a lot of great options and was being attended to regularly to refill anything that needed it. Overall, a great place to spend an evening.

Our son's Queen ensuite room was of the same quality. Lenora gave us plenty recommendations on navigating Perryopolis, where to go for dinner, etc. My son enjoyed being slightly pampered by her, like having an extra relative showering him with gifts. I personally loved hearing Lenora's life stories. As a foodie wanna-be, she's an amazing and inspiring woman. My only regret is that we were not able to eat in her restaurant. From what I heard and read, it's a great place to dine. We hope to have another opportunity to visit her inn or restaurant in the future!
