I love massages. You name it most likely I tried it. I never had an Indian barefoot massage though before. It was my first time today. Kirstin is very professional, personable and a lovely person all around. She explained how everything will work and it was one of the best massages ever. You lay in a dark room, relaxing music, on the floor (not on a bare floor of course, but on soft matress ) with blankets on you to make sure you are warm and comfortable. Kristin uses warm oil and essential oil of your choice. Its like getting yoga while lying on the floor. All my muscles were lengthened and relaxed. Especially I loved work on my neck and shoulders. It felt so much better than your regular massage. At the end you feel energized and relaxed at the same time. I do work a lot at the computer but after this massage my neck feel so great like I just had a great yoga class and massage back to back. I have been under some extreme stress and focusing so much on others, that I finally decided enough was enough and went on Yelp and found two massage therapists I thought I'd try out--one last week and one this week. Little did I realize until I booked the 2nd massage with Kristin Davis of Relax PDX, that both massage therapists worked out of the same office, just different rooms. So last week it was Kim of Massage Naturally, and today it was Kristin Davis. Bottom line: I loved both of them and have re-booked with both for future sessions. Kristin was super personable and down-to-earth and we actually got caught up in a conversation about a topic that came up from my intake form. I enjoyed the chat and I appreciated even more that she still dedicated an entire hour to the massage itself. She listened to exactly what I wanted from the massage and made it entirely relaxing, while also working out some extreme tightness in my shoulders. I almost hate to share her name because she is not too easy to get in with...but she was too good to begrudge her a 5-star review because I selfishly want to keep slots open for me. So there. I had my first session with Kirstin today, and what a wonderful experience it was. She specializes in Chapatti Thermal, also known as "Foot/Rope Massage" -- which is a very old form of massage originating from India. There are very few people in the US that do this particular work, and this was definitely one of the best massages I have ever had. It was invigorating and healing. Kirstin is was very helpful with lots of great information about Chapatti before, during, and after the session. Kirstin is a naturally intuitive healer, and clearly excited about what she does. It's extremely difficult to find great people like her. I highly recommend that you call to book ahead as the studio does not accommodate walk-ins. I've had traditional massage by hand/arm/elbow previously, and I can tell you that this method is substantially less painful than using elbows, and clearly achieves similar, if not better, results. I'm super pleased that I was able to experience it in such a great environment, with a terrific Licensed Massage Therapist. The Massage Naturally studio is home to multiple therapists in a convenient location with ample parking. The studio itself is exceptionally well designed and offers a calm, soothing, relaxing place for healing therapy. Bonus: If you're feeling hungry/thirsty after your massage, there's even a few great pubs nearby! read more

It's nice when a business gets even better. After a nasty fender bender a few months ago, I again went in to Relax PDX for some TLC at Kristins strong hands. She amazes me. After we talk for a minute or so about what happened (teen texting while driving in rush hour on I-5) Kirstin left the room so I could disrobe, lay on my tummy on her super warm flannel covered massage table. When she returned she ran her hands down my back, pushed a little here, pressed a little there and by gosh, she had determined exactly where I hurt. She does have some sort of ESP when it comes to feeling my pain..and this works for her other clients too! Plenty pf parking, easy access onto Scholls Fy Rd going up to Sylvan Hill or down towards Beaverton, close shopping at Safeway or Fred Meyers nearby and there is a McMinimum in the Parking Lot if you want minimal service but good fries and beer. I got 60 minutes of good hard massage of my lower back and neck and 30 minutes of massage of the rest of my body..and this is covered by PIP from the ding bat who hit me insurance company BTW, which seems only fair. Make sure you get an referral for massage from your doctor or you might not be able to get insurance to pay for it. Gots to play that game. Kirstin is magic when it comes to knowing how deep I want her to work, but she asks if she has doubts. With my ongoing back pain, I prefer strong massage, especially in the sciatica area. This place is a great asset to people in Chronic Pain, and I encourage people dealing with pain to check Relax PDX out as a place to go where you really can relax and come away feeling so much better Thank You Kirstin for your talent and dedication to your clients care. I really love coming here. Found Kirstin through Google Offers, and on my first visit we had a brief "get to know you" session where she asked what I was looking for in a massage therapist. She really listened to my answers, and went to work on my problem areas- instead of just doing the "standard" that some massage therapists do even after you tell them to work on a specific thing. Also she has an impressive array of fragrances for aromatherapy, so I like trying different scents every time I go there. I'm sort of a shy person when I first meet people, and I really appreciate that she didn't try to initiate any artificial conversations. Now that I'm getting to know her a bit better, she's also fine with chatting as much or as little as I want. She schedules extra time between each appointment so you don't get rushed in or out, which is definitely a plus when you are going somewhere to relax. I've seen Kirstin maybe 6 times now and liked her enough to buy a massage package- which I don't ever do. Her prices are extremely reasonable already. Highly recommend her, she is great! read more

I've been working out lots and find myself walking around with super stiff, super sore muscles. Kirstin's massage was thorough and effective. There are the sorts of massages that make you feel relaxed and want to nap, and the sort that actually fix problems and make you feel better; this was the latter. I'm sure she could do the former as well, so perhaps we'll try that some other time :) read more

Don't freak out when she says she's going to massage you with her feet. No, she's not going to walk on your back. You lay on a mattress on the floor while she uses one foot at a time, balancing herself by holding on to a rope above her head. It allows her to use somewhat deeper pressure--though not overwhelming--and to make long, sweeping movements. This isn't a "I just want to relax" method. It's for true lumps and bumps. But I enjoyed it and felt great afterwards! read more
