My muscles were loosened and my super tight shoulder have knots that were untied after the deep tissue massage session here with Linda. Wait!! Deep tissue massage is not supposed to be this good in the Twin Cities because I always get utterly disappointed with the massage claimed deep tissue here, but it always ended up underwhelming. I can't believe I actually found a place that truly knows how to give a good massage. The last time I had a really good massage was in Thailand and this reminds me of that experience. This is my second time returning to see Linda and I just made my third to go in a month. I am definitely addicted to the pain and the pressure points that Linda puts on me each time. She goes all out using her elbows, arms and partial body weight. Her massage was fully committed and I loved it. The tense pressure on my shoulder feels so much better now, allowing me to work and be productive in an office setting. This spa place is not fancy, but it is clean. I also love that they use unscented coconut oil to massage my body, leaving a beautiful glow and a layer of moisturizer on my skin. I think this type of deep tissue massage is not for everyone, but it certainly is what I look and crave for ... so I can't wait to visit again.

About 9 weeks ago I went in to have a reflexology full body treatment. I have been here as a customer several times. When I left my appointment, I felt like I normally do and was relaxed but my body felt "off" on my right side. Like really off! I went home and went to straight to bed and couldn't get comfortable and started to experience pain and a burning fire from my neck, my right shoulder down into my right hand. It became absolutely excruciating! The nerve pain was on fire! Since my appointment at Hand & Aroma Massage, I was bed bound for 4 weeks, had to quit my job because I cannot function, I have been in pain every single day, my right hand is still completely numb from nerve injury nd I do not have any feeling in it STILL! My life has completely fallen apart literally just from getting a massage and having someone injure me, possibly permanently! Do NOT go here! It is not worth it and I do not want anyone else to suffer like I have and STILL am constantly! It's been almost 9 weeks of total HELL WARNING!!!! Now if the valet will be available is a whole other story. It took a considerable amount of time to drop off my car and I had asked three different employees about getting change for tipping and this proved more difficult than expected. I was greeted by Laura - who truly was the bright spot in this whole experience. She was on top of it and so friendly. She got me a locker and got me set up. I was eager to come here because they boasted a steam room, sauna, rainforest shower, and hot tub. Lukewarm would be a great way to describe this experience. The steam room just didn't get as steamy or warm as I would like, I had to turn on the sauna myself and wait for it to warm up (energy efficiency maybe) and the hot tub had water features that were spitting out ice cold water - cooling down the whole hot tub. I didn't venture to the rainforest shower because I couldn't bear to be any colder! I did love the tiled heated chairs in this lounge though! Normally these features would be my favorite and I could spend all day rotating but Anda spa caps you at an hour. There are a few lounges that you can check out. The one lounge has a few snacks, unlabeled tea, and fruit infused water. As some one with allergies - the mystery of it all wasn't great. The other lounge had weighted blankets. I was told to wait in either lounge for my technician. My technician was around 10 minutes late to my appointment without any notice. I had to walk out to the front to flag a staff member down to make sure I understood the instructions correctly. This definitely detracted from the relaxed vibe. The facial was in a brighter room than I'm used to and obviously you're downtown so it can be a bit noisy. The facial itself was good and the technician had strong hands though I wish I would've researched more about the products. My skin has felt dried out since and it's just not the best experience I've had. I'm going to check out some other spa options before I return here. Again - Laura was phenomenal and the space is clean and modern - I just didn't have the experience that I would've liked for the price.

I have contacted authorities to file a report and notified my bank for fraud. This is so disappointing and I wish the outcome would have been better. They had a package with infrared sauna, Korean body scrub and massage. The sauna my partner was not ready for, nor the body scrub. He doesn't like extreme heat in saunas. They left us in there for close to an hour and came back and apologized in broken English, like they forgot we were there. Then they told us to get into these elevated bath tubs. That's the best way to describe them. They had foam mats on the bottom, and it looked like jet sprays on the side. Well, they told us to get in, face down, with our heads sticking out the fronts. Not super comfortable in any way, including getting in an awkward position in front of these ladies. So the water was between cold and very hot. It was Dove body wash, nothing special. They scrubbed us head to toe around five times. Asked why we were there, and I said it's his birthday. They asked his name and sang happy birthday. Very funny. Then came the massage. I had to use the restroom. This is where I was really disappointed. It was pretty dang dirty. Not just kinda. Like, dirt. Everywhere in the bathroom. So now I'm headed back for this massage, and I am worried about the cleanliness. The massage consisted of each small woman climbing onto our backs and using their elbows and knees. She put me into a bow position (those in yoga know what I mean.) Remember, we have no clothes on; it was very, very uncomfortable. She kept saying wow, you're flexible. They tried making conversation, but it was stilted English. I was trying to give back some conversation to be polite, and my lady literally just walked away from me while I was mid-sentence. Actually walked out of the room. I wanted to laugh with my partner, but he was putting himself into a self-induced meditative state to avoid the awkwardness of the whole thing. I definitely would not go back. I felt a lot of pain the next day. My lady was rubbing my feet, and hit a nerve of some type, and commented, hmmm. what is this? And I kept saying, yeah, that hurts. Until finally I had to yank my foot away and say, THAT HURTS. It's in a strip mall. You get what you pay for.
