We absolutely recommend this store, and are so thankful to have found it! We're in town from NYC and our dancer was in desperate need of pointe shoes. After a terrible visit to a different area dance store, we were so relieved to find the level of service and knowledge here to be so excellent. Our fitter was incredible, and really helped our dancer problem solve (dancer's normal shoes are experiencing a supply shortage and her feet have pretty specific needs.) We were impressed with not only how decent this store's stock is, but also how hard our fitter worked to find back-ups for our dancer. She was more than willing to keep pulling shoes and trying different combinations. Additionally, she was very knowledgeable and would share her observations on each fit, but she was also completely respectful of our dancer, listening to her thoughts on each pair. Located behind the Lowe's at crossroads. I was here for the first time today to purchase some tights for my team performance tomorrow night. The store is clearly marked and has a good selection of everything dance from shoes to uniforms. Prices are high but I think they are in line with other specialty dance shops . I roamed around for awhile looking for what I needed before a salesperson offered assistance. She was knowledgeable and helpful once I got some help. Store was clean and easy to get around. Terrible service. I sent my husband there with my daughter and son after speaking to a very helpful rep on the phone. He said no one would help them or acknowledge them, an older lady helping another person nearby didn't bother to acknowledge them either, simple thing to say is "Someone will be right with you" He finally had to ask someone to assist him and the employee VERY reluctantly did so. She had no idea what she was doing... lucky for Releve they are the only place in town to get gear locally which is probably why they get away with such poor customer service. Coming to Releve Dancewear, has always put a smile on my face as soon as I walk through the door. The workers at the store always make sure to come and greet you as soon as you walk in. Recently, I had to come to the store for a pair of shoes and even with the pandemic going on, the store made sure that everything was clean and distanced out properly to make me feel comfortable with shopping. My 3 year old is just starting dance class and needed to be fitted for tap & ballet. The ladies here are so helpful and really look out for their customers. One employee recommended a half a size larger and a wider fit because my daughter is still growing and kids her age typically still carry a little baby fat on their feet. Most places could probably care less and it'd be more profit for them when you child quickly grew out of her shoes and had to purchase a new pair a couple months down the road. I bought a pair of Zumba shoes about 3 weeks ago. They were very tight around the front of the foot, but I thought they would stretch out with use. They haven't and it's cutting my circulation so much that it makes my feet go numb. There is obviously a manufacturer's defect with these shoes, so I went to Releve this morning to see if I could return them. The girl that helped me went to my the back to ask the manager if they could be returned. She came back and told me that they couldn't take them back because it is store policy. This is a special situation because these shoes are obviously defective. These shoes were $70, so I will never be buying anything again from this store. read more

This store may look pretty and modern, but the staff are mostly older ladies who know nothing about dance. I think there is only one person that works there that's an actual dancer. It is very overpriced, you can get the very same stuff on discount dancewear website for way over half of their prices. Try Footlights in Raleigh instead. They actually have dancers with knowledge that work there! read more

so on Friday my daughter tells me that she needs "character shoes" ok I'm new to searching for shoes so I asked some neighbors and problem was I needed them by Monday. So I came to this store. I must say the sales girl was very nice, but not trained properly by the manager. Why because I bought the shoes for $45 dollars on Sunday, and went to the school on Monday thinking I got a good deal, but NO one of the other moms said they had gone on that morning and got 75% of on the same shoes.... so I went back to the store to talk to the manager, and she pretty much said it was my fault because I did see the sale. I'm sorry but not all of us are made out of money, and a pair of these shoes at $45 dollars is a huge fracking deal, and no ones goes above and beyond to help , or to say hey buy the way did you see the sale we are having, because I will not forget about the store that saved me money, and I would tell my friends that they should shop there, but that is not what happened. It was all my problem, and not theirs, and they could not give a shit if I come back or not. SO LONG STORY SHORT.....IF I COULD GIVE THIS STORE NO STARS I WOULD. I had a horrible experience here. I have been dancing for over 17 years and was fit for gaynor mindens. I haven't been "en pointe" for 5 years due to feet problems and decided I wanted to go back and try gaynors because of their advertised comfort. After being fit and at checkout I said that I wanted some teachers to look at them and make sure they fit me correctly. They said it's fine and that I could receive a refund if they were unworn. (They were $138) I went to 2 different teachers and a friend who is a dancer for Carolina Ballet. They all were in shock at how horribly the shoes fit me. I must have been blinded by the excitement of being up on pointe again. The shoes were too narrow, gaping and literally falling off of my feet. Pointe shoes should fit like gloves. They must not have had my size at the store and decided to just sell me these. They cannot fit pointe shoes properly! But it gets worse.... I took extra steps to ensure they were in perfect condition to return. I went to return them and told them that they clearly did not fit me properly and I was sold shoes that shouldn't have been sold to me. I requested gaynors but if they didn't suit me then they should have let me know and not sold me something that didn't fit! I told them that when I purchased them that the woman said I could get a refund and return them if they didn't fit & said nothing about store credit only. They would only give me store credit! I was clearly upset and they wouldn't just give me my money back. When I purchased them NO ONE informed me that they only do store credit as a return. I saw no sign (if there was one, they should make it more visible). I kept insisting that I receive a monetary refund for the untouched shoes I was returning but they wouldn't. They gave me a flimsy piece of paper with 138$ written on it as my store credit. They should have recognized that I was fit poorly & wrongly informed on the return policy due to a worker's statements. It was overall a horrible experience. Take your business somewhere else! You can get better service, fittings and prices at many other places. read more
