Eduardo was the electrician who came to our house initially to change one light switch. After replacing the switch something still wasn't right so he opened up another switch that also turned on the same light and saw a problem that the previous installer had created. Eduardo fixed it perfectly! He also made some good recommendations for putting in a better light. He was on time. He cleaned up the dust he left. He was a super nice gent. My generator was installed in December of 2020. I had to have rust removed in less than one year. I bought a 7 year extended warranty for $695. NOW, they are offering q 10 year extended warranty for FREE!. Generac says the battery should be replaced at three years even if it is still functioning. Today, the tech is telling me that reliable recommends changing the battery at 2 years. Well, it is NOT even 2 years. Very, very disappointed. I was getting battery warnings back in August and the battery was only 20 months old! I am sorry and I hate writing bad reviews, but there is definitely a problem with this company's Service Dept., Installation last year (2023) of my home $32,000, stand by generator went okay, not perfect, but still considering everything the guys had to do it wasnt too bad. However the Service Dept is another thing entirely! In 2023 we had our first scheduled free maintenance on my home generator. The equipment has worked perfectly until then and only had to be used once since its original installation and that's when the electricity went out for 2hrs. When the service was first scheduled I had left specific instructions that the appointment had to be anytime after 3pm. I was assured that the Service Tech would call me approximately 30mins prior to his arrival. However, that didnt happen. The Tech arrived right after 12pm. No prior called received. The Tech guy also turned the electric off, while my wife was home and on a conference call. Very unprofessional and not up the their usual standard of excellence. Why schedule an appointment and leave instructions when they dont even follow same. Now they want me to sign up for their yearly preventive maintenance (PM) plan which is costly and I am unsure if I needed it, but since this was a big investment on our part I thought the $400 plus was well worth it. The first inspection under the PM service was good. However, we later found out during the 2nd PM service that the first Tech had apparently stripped the screws and had said nothing about it, thus preventing the 2nd service to be performed. Even getting that 2nd service scheduled was a hassle because they missed the first appointment (No call/No Show) and I had to call them back and inquire what happened. After much back and forth and back to square one we reschedule another appointment. On Jan 23, their "BEST Tech" supposedly comes out and performs a 10 min inspection. Reports nothing wrong! However, when I go out there I find several gas lines, fitters and connectors are all rusted. But again the Tech makes no mention of this in his report. He even reports that the LP gas tank is at 80% when in reality its less than 74%. Under the PM contract they are suppose to inspect the fuel piping and fuel lines for cracking, wear, and gas leakage which apparently he didnt do or he would have reported it. This even gets worse NOT better. Come to find out nothing is covered under the PM and/or 7 year warranty to fix the rusted lines. According to Reliable, the gas lines are not their responsibilities and were installed by the gas company, which I never hired and was a sub contractor for them! I now have to find another gas company and have them make the appropriate repairs. I will certainly not use Reliable again and will not be paying for another PM plan which just requires them to come out, if they come out at all, and turn the generator on /off. This is just a scam that they come up with so they can charge you more for doing nothing. Future Consumers BEWARE!!! read more

Absolutely floored with how quickly they were able to arrive, install, and complete (a rather large) job. Easily, 9-10 guys showed up the day we agreed upon. After installation, 3 additional appointments were made to carefully walk me through the system, fully explaining how it works, what to do in case of emergency, etc. A 10/10 company that puts customer service first. Not sure how they get 4 and 5 stars or maybe its more about the product. The Generic Generator is really a good product and many companies sell it. For me its the follow-up service that tells you about a companies interest in its clients. I have owned my generator for about 7 or 8 years and bought it from the owner. Nice guy but after the buy even getting it delivered on time was something else. A lot of misrepresentation, but that was back then. Now today I have a yearly maintenance contract that according to sales girl gives priority in getting service. You determine if this is good service. Made appointment for this Monday with window between 12 to 4pm. No one shows by 3pm so I call and women says will check but you are on schedule. I call again at 4pm and told teck had to go home. So a simple call to me would have been nice. Day wasted. Call latter and re schedule for Thursday 8-12 in morning with priority. Call at 11:30 and told your on list. Finally at 5 pm teck calls and will be here in 20 minutes. Nice guy and not his fault just bad dispatching and ownership of family business really doesn't care about customers just keep selling generators. Plenty of places now service this really good product and bad service has nothing to do with COVID. For service on existing suggest you at least look at other companies read more

6/30/23 - We signed the contract for the generator, and paid the full amount of upfront on our HD credit card. 7/26/23 - We sent the property survey to the company . At some point a 3rd party comes to take measurements for the generator. 8/30/23 - Sent another email about what is going on as we haven't heard from them. Then we found out that they fired the 3rd party company and are waiting for the files to come back to them. 11/8/23 - Received an email from Richard Shore who claims to be taking over the case and will give me updates periodically. Also, we received an email from Heather that our files have been received back at the office. Then they realize that the generator cannot go on the side that they wanted to put it as there is a drain easement on that side. This is the original place on our property that they wanted to put it. They told us this after 4 months. How is it that the person who read the property survey didn't see that until 4 months later? Then talked with Pablo who states that they will need to run the electric and gas from the other side of the house and will cost me 1900.00. We finally negotiate 850.00 for the movement. 11/27/23 - I sent an email to Richard and didn't hear back from him. 11/27/23 - Received an email from Heather stating that they have submitted the permit and it will take 4-8 weeks. 12/1/23 -We sent an email to Richard and didn't hear back from him 12/8/23 - I received a call from Heather stating that Richard is no longer with them and she has received the building permits. At this point it was over 5 months since signing the contract, and I told them that I wanted to cancel the contract and they told me that they will make it right. Then Reliable wanted to put the generator in front of the AC, which is also near the front of our house and we told them the HOA would not approve it there, which they didn't. Then they wanted to put it in the back of the house which we told them was an eye sore. This company said they had dealt with our HOA before and should have known where the generator should have gone. We told them to put it on the same side of the house as the AC (about 15 feet back from the front of the house). They stated that there wasn't enough room between our house and the neighbor's house (there was 13 feet between our house and the neighbors). However they placed it in the exact same location for my sister, who lives 10 houses away and it is exactly the same dimensions. They stated if we wanted to sign something they would try and submit it to the city on that side of the house. But they claimed that the city would probably not approve it in that spot. 2/19/24 I tell them to cancel the contract after speaking with Home Depot. They agree to cancel the contract but only return partial amount to my credit card. On 3/1/24 I contact the company again asking about the 827.43 that I haven't received and they tell me that they paid for building permits that were in the contract and I would need to pay for that. The original amount was also in the contract but they refunded me back with that amount already. I explain again to them that I cancelled the contract due to their incompetence, and not due to any issues on my part, and they should take the loss of the 827.43 and not me. I signed the contract on June 30th, and the permit was not submitted until late November and we did not receive notification that it was approved until December 8th. How is it possible that it took 5 months to submit a permit? That is because they had numerous personnel changes and I had to keep following up with them as they never followed up with me. If they would have read the property survey correctly in July we could have corrected the issue immediately. This is a joke as they were in breach of contract when they didn't install or get the permits for 5 months. I am so disappointed with Reliable and with Home Depot for not holding them accountable as this was the only reason that we went with Reliable in the first place. 3/6/24 I receive a call from Pablo(Reliable) stating that Heather told him a wanted to sign a new contact. Are they crazy as I would never do business with this company? This shows you how incompetent this company is as I never contacted them for a new contract. 3/8/24 I then received an email from Pablo(Reliable) stating that I can submit a form to the city to change contractors on the generator. However we cannot do this as the building permit that Reliable submitted was for a place that we are not allowed to install the generator. So now I have to pay for another building permit. How fair is that? 3/4/24 We sign a new contract with another generator company, and they submit the forms to the city for building permits, and everything was approved by 3/9/24. read more

I asked the company to install a stationary back-up generator and a propane tank. I signed an agreement with them in May and paid them a deposit of more than 4K. I was told the project will be completed in August. Then they disappeared. Multiple calls to Reliable were either ignored, or answered after long delays, or only after complaints were made. I tried to complain to the supervisor but was told that I would not be able to reach him directly, neither via phone nor via email. More than 5 months later, nothing even started. While I knew installing a standby generator was not a simple or quick process particularly with the permitting, I think Reliable did only an OK job with the process. Once it was permitted, it still took 2.5 months to get this installed and inspected (6 months from signing date). Aside from the timeframe, I am only giving 3 stars because of their support. I paid for a 10 year warranty. That was missed and had to be corrected after several emails and phone calls. I have an electrical issue with an appliance that is connected to the load management system and the quickest they can get there is 9 days to determine if this is the problem. I also tried hiring Reliable Electric service to have some additional work done. The initial visit they no-showed. Sent me an email that the tech had called out. Never rescheduled. When I called back recently, the next appointment is in 2 months. Good for them now - they clearly have more work than they can handle. However after spending almost $20,000 I'd expect a little better service. For this reason I can't give them my recommendation. God forbid anything happens to my generator as it's likely not get fixed anytime soon. Unfortunately this heyday will end for them and people like me would never use them again. Too bad. read more

I have had my generator in for just over a year. I renewed my contract, paid my $515 and then discovered that my Mobile Link had been mistakenly cancelled. I have placed 5 phone calls to the office and have been told each time that the office that handles it would get back to me. I am still awaiting that call. They talk a good line but my experience has not born that out. read more

On 2-4-22 we ordered a generator. David was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything to us. We were informed throughout until 5-3-22. Patric came by and spent time with us to explain how things would be done. Patric was very pleasant, knowledgeable and had a great personality. On 5-4-22 Jeffrey and Davain were here first thing to install the generator, dig the trench for wiring and do the electrical. They both are hard workers and did a great job. They explained everything and we were very happy with their work. Patric did stop by to see how everything was going. We only were without power for about 3 1/2 hrs. We're glad we decided to go with this company. We would highly recommend them. The job is not quite finished-building inspectors have to check the work, gas line has to be done, etc. Maybe about 2-3 weeks everything should be completed. read more

Switched to Reliable from APS . First the good. Maintenance was excellent. They do a great job with photo's and documenting everything. Really first class job. But, APS includes a new battery if needed every two years but Reliable does not. If you are handy, you can change the battery yourself. Also, their tech diagnosed a problem that APS could not find. So another gold star. Why not 5 stars? Well cost of fixing the problem, super excessive. They charge 2x for parts vs internet Generac approved dealers (not Amazon), and excessive labor for a 1 hour job. Competence is very good, cost is very, very high. read more

We purchased a Generac generator from Reliable to provide power to our entire house. The cost was approximately $30,000. In four years, the generator has not worked properly. It cuts off power for no reason at all and requires repairs with every incident (at least four in last four years). When the power has failed (a rarer event then the generator knocking out our power), the generator did not go on. Reliable blames the manufacturer, Generac, but they always embrace Generac in their advertising. The technicians have generally been good and represent the company well. The problem is that our generator causes more worry than it cures and that is not why you buy a generator. This is an honest assessment. We have had other generators in other homes, most notably during hurricane Sandy when my generator in New Jersey ran non-stop for two straight weeks. That generator gave us peace of mind. we knew we could leave our home and if the power failed the generator would go on and if we weren't home, we didn't have to worry about the generator causing a power failure on its own. Losing air conditioning in a Florida home because a generator triggers a power failure is not a good thing! read more

This is in follow-up to my previously posted review. I was able to have a call today (August 14th) with Reliable's Sales manager, Steven Zeranti. He had left 2 messages over the weekend asking me to call him (I was out of state at the time). The outcome of our conversation was the same as noted in my original e-mail below. He told me that he had presented my case to the owner of the company, and the owner told him that because I was financing a portion of the total cost they could not honor the terms of the offer in Ms. English's e-mail. I thanked him for the call and politely hung up. Again, I strongly recommend that in light of what happened to me -- a company making an offer and then refusing to abide by the terms of its own offering -- you consider other generator companies if you are looking to make such a purchase. I will be reporting what occurred to me to Angie's List, Home Advisor, and our local Better Business Bureau. read more

Their generator maintenance program is awful. My new install has had a battery go dead, after calling them it took them 2 weeks to come out and fix it. Now a month later, idk what is wrong, but it's dead and no one to repair for 3 weeks (it took them 5 days to call me about my "dead" generator, and 2 weeks before anyone can look at it, and then...???). We are having reliable power install a new whole house generator for us. Big mistake. We are now well over 2 months since installation started and still have not received a final permit, nor is everything fixed. Not only did they hit the main water line for my house during installation, many sprinkler lines were broken and still not fixed to this date. After they backfilled the trench for the power line, it caved in 2 feet deep and they never came back out to fix this after many requests and pictures being sent. I was forced to hire another company to properly backfill the trench as I have small children and worried for their safety. They failed to fully connect all electrical systems, resulting in their installers coming back out, but only after I called them daily for numerous weeks. They didn't install the proper breakers so we failed inspections. I have called them daily and still cannot get them out here to finish the project, but they sure were quick to cash the checks. When asked about fixing my sprinkler lines, they state they "try" to fix but its my responsibility. So they dig a trench, hit whatever they do and its your problem to deal with and pay for after the fact. If you want to have your yard destroyed, installation to be re-done several times, installation to take 2+ months and counting, family/children's safety to be put at risk this might be the company for you... read more

When Integrity, Ethics, and honesty are printed but not followed. BUYERS BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND THE SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES !!I am a former employee of Reliable Power Systems and to clarify my review of this company and their best practices is based on my being a customer of Reliable and NOT a former employee.I had a Generator installed at my home in July of 2020 we experienced some of the basic install issues that one will face during a generator install. One disappointment that we did face as a customer was having to upgrade our lab from a standard slab to a $3000 upgraded slab due to what was explained as a ruling from FEMA and the city of Pompano Beach because our home is in a flood zone.We found out 2 years later that the interpretation of the law was read by the office person in Reliable who handles the code compliance and engineering portion of the installation.  Sadly, he was not clear that there are 2 building codes in the city of Pompano Beach 1 for NEW construction and 1 for existing construction. Our home was built in 1958 and falls under existing.We did NOT need this custom slab that cost us an additional $3000, but we incurred this cost due to the negligence of the code/engineering expert at Reliable not truly knowing or comprehending code like he is supposed to,  researching, and or understanding the code for our municipality.On top of the $3000.00 cost, we incurred we also find out 2 YEARS after the completion of the installation that the final permit was never closed because it did not pass inspection.  The inept follow-up by the permit division for Reliable delayed our permit from getting closed. There was NO response from Reliable to the city when the inspection failed, we found out about the open permit when we applied for some new work to be performed at our home. Needless to say, our tone was less than friendly when we contacted Reliable about the open permit, and we were met with the following excuse and or reasoning behind their lack of follow-up in getting the job done. And as of today's date, July 2022 We STILL have not been notified that the permits are passed and closed nor have we received our FULL refund for the PM services that they did NOT supply but were paid in full for and we should be compensated for the $3000 slab that was not needed at our home.  Finally, we are also preventative maintenance customers contracting with Reliable to provide remote monitoring and maintenance on our generator. We signed and PAID for 2 years of preventative maintenance, The terms of this contract have not been fulfilled and the maintenance of our generator has not been provided.  The Maintenance Service for NEITHER contract purchased was EVER provided again supporting my demand for a full refund of the amount paid $721.00 and you have yet to refund the remaining balance of $360.50!You still need to refund $360.50 Again, this reflects the poor level of service we came to expect from this company.  Buyer BEWARE! The above-mentioned events are all supported and well documented. Follow-up and follow-through did not and do not happen and are an ongoing best practice with this company as stated in our case.Shop around and do your research, there are several good companies that can install a generator out there for you, provide Great customer service, and provide follow-up and quality workmanship unlike what I received. Read reviews but know that reviews can be manipulated and only the top reviews can sometimes be all that a company will post if you don't give them a 9 or 10 rating there is a strong probability that your negative or neutral review may not appear in Google or other review sites.. Don't sit and wait for a company to contact you and be proactive in a situation, be the pain and demand the level of service you want, demand to follow-up, phone calls, emails, and updated information that is current. Don't accept excuses for shotty workmanship. You spend good money for a generator installation and the maintenance that follows, make sure you are getting what you are paying for! read more

Today will make two months in a row that we were supposed to be having our final inspection done for the generator install. Both times and inspector showed up to our house and a representative from the company did not. So both times we had to be readily available the entire day just to have a representative not show up and not call. We were going to use this company for another generator install but that is definitely not going to happen now. I recommend going with a reliable company because this is not it. read more

All they care about is getting you into a "service" contract and they will say anything to do so. They have had our generator out of commission now for 3 weeks, Hurricane Ian bearing down on us and not a single person in this company will take action or accountability other than stacking up more lies and deceit. Shame on them and shame on me for allowing this company to be a part of my safety plan for hurricanes. Do yourself a favor and release them from any contract you are in, eat the contract fees and go with another company before you find out the hard way like we did. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Here's my story....Moved to Florida 3 years ago from the Northeast. Needed a generator so I narrowed it down to 2 venders from Google reviews...Reliable Power Systems and APS. Prices came in about the same, sales people were both likable, it was a coin toss who to use. I chose poorly. It took 8 months to get my generator installed (COVID shortages, not Reliable's fault). Reliable has a nice on-line system where you can check the status of your install through the whole process. The installation went smoothly - so no problems there (although, they did leave a bit of a mess in my garage, made some holes in my drywall that they wouldn't patch etc. but no big deal). After the install, I immediately sign up for the yearly maintenance agreement with them. Fast forward 8 months later and here's where my problems start. I have 10 guests visiting me and staying at my house (of course this is when I have problems) and one morning the electric in the kitchen, the hot water heater, the a/c and pool pumps aren't working. The circuit breakers appear all fine and everything else in the house is working. I notice blinking lights on the generator module and so I call Reliable. I explain what's going on, I tell them I have 10 house guests. Reliable tells me they can't make it out to my house for 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS. I'm like, how is that possible? It's March, it's not even hurricane season. There hasn't been any storms, it's literally a normal time of year. I tell them I have a maintenance contract with them. They don't care. TWO WEEKS. I ask to speak to a manager. Two hours later the manager calls me back, says he can fit me in the schedule in 6 days. SIX DAYS (which is 2 days after my guests will have left). Now, what the Reliable manager doesn't know is that in the two hours time between my first call to Reliable and his return call to me I have called my electrician in a panic. I have 10 house guests I can't cook for, who came to Florida and now can't use the pool or hot tub, and it's getting warm in the house. My electrician says "Reliable is the worst, call APS". So, I call APS. Now, I am not APS's customer. I did NOT just spend $40,000 with them 8 months prior to purchase and install a generator. In fact, I'm the one who asked for a quote and then didn't even use them. I am no one to them. What does APS tell me? "We'll be out in an hour". An hour later they arrive, 15 mins after that they have re-booted my module and suggest that if it happens again that they replace it. APS's technician had come to my house, fixed the issue and left before I even got a return phone call from Reliable's manager telling me that he "could fit me in his schedule in 6 days". I explained to the manager that I had called his competition and that they had already come out and fixed it. The manager told me that "Reliable has a lot of more important customers that take priority over you, like hospitals etc and we always service them first." Ok, Hospitals are important. But six days in a non-emergency time of year to get a 15 minute repair? How long of a wait will it be during hurricane season? And no customer likes to be told that they basically aren't important--especially after just spending $40,000. I tell the manager this, and that I'm going to leave them a bad review. His reply "We have lots of good reviews, one bad review isn't going to hurt us". Hmmm. Are you getting a clear picture of what kind of company Reliable Power Systems is? Do yourself a service and hire Assurance Power Systems from the get go. I now have my maintenance contact with APS and they have continued to provide me with excellent and timely service. read more

I have been a Reliable Power Systems customer for over 2 years. I have two generators. One a 60 Kw (large machine) that has powered my assisted living facility during outages . Both machine are under a maintenance and monitoring agreement with Reliable. The machines run a weekly diagnostic and exercise test. On May 20th 2020 I was informed by Reliable that the large generator was transmitting a trouble signal and would need to be serviced. I was told that the earliest appointment was JUNE 28th 2020. I explained that as they are aware we are an assisted living facility and we are required by law to have a functioning generator at all times for life safety. I also explained that the facility sits on a power grid that isn't good. A good wind or heavy rains have been known to disrupt power. I was told I would receive a phone call back shortly after she spoke with the dispatcher and relayed my concerns. I later tried to start the generator myself after receiving no return call. It would not start. I phoned Reliable and was told being that it was 20 minutes after 4pm I would have to pay a diagnostic and after hours travel fee, of which I did totaling $355.00 . The technician arrived an hour after my call stating that the machine was running but need to have the battery replaced(6month old battery). Did that as part of the service agreement. I phoned the office the next day and inquired as to how calls and customers were prioritized and was told by Carrie that I would receive a phone call back from Steven the office manager which as of this posting has not happened.
