Took back possession of the truck and am nothing short of impressed by the quality of work done. Truck runs better than it did at 215k. Not a drip of anything other than ac condensation. Super pleased. Just got back from a 600 mile flawless round trip with 9500 behind her. Didn't skip a beat! Highly recommend Houston and the crew at Southern Diesel Performance!!

There was no urgency on their part as they spent weeks working on my car to do about $800 of work. Then, all of a sudden, they called one morning out of the blue and woke me when I wasn't feeling well by arguing with my boyfriend. Southern Auto said that if I didn't pick up the car and pay that day, they were going to lock my car up in storage and charge me a daily fee. I've never encountered this type of aggressive behavior from someone servicing my vehicle. When I picked up the car, the part that props up the hood was suddenly missing/broken. Also, the lip of the top half of the timing belt cover was exposed. When we asked them to properly fit it, a mechanic went at it with a crowbar, which is not good. They also didn't do the oil change we asked for. We complained about our missing/broken part, and went to the Honda dealer to buy the part on our own dime. After much arguing, they agreed to install the part. I figured that I'd pick up the car the next day since it was getting to be late in the evening at this point. Despite the late hour, the shop insisted that I still pick up the car that night or, you guessed it...storage fees. It's threats, threats, threats with this place. I can't see very well late at night, and I was so upset by how rude and unprofessional everyone was that I ended up having an accident on my way home. This shop was so mean and rude to my entire family. They got us all worked up to the point that we were arguing with them and each other. The mechanic had the nerve to tell us that "he'd never work on another one of our vehicles." He's right about that!

I needed to have the front end aligned, as I had spoke to Kendall Barnes, to find out if his shop could do this. Kendall told me, they could align anything. So I drove there, and being I didn't have an appointment, had to wait a short time, then they got me inside and on their alignment machine. Joe was the alignment 'tech', as he did a superb job, making sure the steering wheel was lined up correctly with wheels, taking his time to make sure it was done correctly. I would have waited all day, but Barnes had me in and out in less than a couple of hours. My truck now drives like a dream. I would highly recommend Barnes Tire on Community Road in Brunswick GA. Now need a new set of Nitto Dura Grappler 10 ply tires, as Barnes Tire can order these as well.

I should've had my Ford F-350 back from these guys last week. Fuel contamination resulted in this shop charging an outrageous $125/hr shop time and 250% mark up for parts. $7,800 for parts that I could buy OEM from Ford for $3,200. Total $12,000! Considering this, they don't even offer any type of military/government discount. I'm LE and asked, which is highly unusual that they wouldn't offer. When asked about shop rates being higher than ford, the owner, Robert initially indicated that he charges less than factory, but when faced with the facts stated, "My rates are my rates, I don't match dealership rates." Really?? You charge more than the dealer?? You wouldn't be in business, simply unsustainable. End of rant. Just find another shop that has integrity and operates ethically. The guy doesn't seem terrible on a personal note. Just poor practices. Update, upon picking up truck, Robert demanded I get a cashiers check or cash to pay him rather than accept the Geico insurance check. I took it to BOA and they said the business is required to deposit into their business account and this is very common practice. I was eventually able to get the cashiers check, but later learned he wanted the immediate funds since he had damaged my truck while at the shop. I provided Robert with the cashiers check and my deductible. When leaving the shop, within an hour, the "ater in fuel" light was active on dash, as well as "service charging system" light illuminated, which wasn't on when left for servicing. This shop literally damaged my truck further. Robert claimed fuel system is guaranteed by Ford for 2 yrs. This is false and was verified via Ford who couldn't find the repair by my vin. This shop also charged my shop for 15 gallons of diesel replacement and failed to fulfill this, returning my truck bone try if fuel. Robert knew I was leaving the state and when asked if he could fix the new charging system and fuel/water issue, he stated "I'd get on the road if I were you." On further attempts to contact him, he never responded to calls/texts and his shop is always locked. Litigation to follow... don't put yourself in this situation. Take it to a reputable shop. It's very unfortunate that this business is fostering a terrible reputation for small locals businesses. Up until this point, I've always supported them and they've been good to me.

I have subsequent quotes from reputable Freightliner dealers for less than half of what he charged. We were just so grateful to finally get it fixed and out of there after 4 months of abuse and neglect that we even neglected to get a receipt. If our 50,000 lb. motorhome was in a position that we could have towed it out of there, we would have. I have detailed extemporaneous notes and copies of the hundreds of answered and unanswered texts(mostly unanswered) to corroborate my saga. He would only accept cash for parts and repairs totaling over $10,000 saying that his credit card company will not allow a transaction over $1500. This is not a person who should be doing business with the public.
