Church is always great to go to. I don't think you can really "rate" church... I just moved to this area and I went to "The Way" last week. I really liked it... but I did want to try a few other churches in the area before I settle in somewhere. I really like the aesthetic of this church. It's what drew me here. Honestly the location was a bit difficult to get to... it's right off the freeway pretty much and I should have seen that as God speaking to me... cause that automatically being difficult made me think "I wouldn't want to drive this way again...." Anyways... it's a beautiful church. However, I felt the presence of God really lacking here.... The worship was SO rushed.... It was actually stressful. The tempo was faster than the original song for Way Maker, it made it really hard to relax and focus... though I tried my best the whole service to make my visit about God and not my preference.... So I could at leave with something and take something away as I came to be encouraged and worship. It just made it very hard to focus.. I don't know who spoke today. And I give the guy props, because I know talking to a crowd is a lot harder than it looks. But I felt the message had a great message, however, was lacking with scriptural backing... it could have been a really powerful message had there been more time given to it and more scripture to give background and a firm standing... the message was not built on sound doctrine. He was talking about the anti christ and talking about that he's going to be a political leader and as soon as I heard that I knew not to listen to the message anymore.... There was also no scripture shared to back what he was saying about the anti christ..... we don't know. We won't know. But I do believe as believers we will continue to see things God shows us to remind us He is coming... like with Covid and the vaccine. there are "many anti christs" the Bible says... the anti christ is anyone who does not confess Jesus is Lord. 1 John 4. He's already here. I wanted to leave so bad but I didn't want to get up and be rude. The best part of the service was this Asian lady sat next to me and she was so friendly and I don't think she really spoke English but I was so happy she sat next to me. Shoutout to the dude who spoke today, tho, you really had some great points; just felt very pretentious and there wasn't any scriptural backing for majority of the things you were saying. I want to see scripture. I want to go deep into the word. I'm not interested in hearing someone talk about their opinions. Give me the word. Not just one, two, three single verses scattered across multiple books.... It doesn't built a strong foundation or depth to the message but you really had something powerful God gave you about the stump and something growing out of whats dead. Thank you so much for sharing. I left today feeling like I did not spend time with God and I went to a performance. Slow down, take a breath.... I come to Reliance Church when I visit my son and daughter in law. I enjoy the gospel preached and the music. I leave there feeling revitalized. What a wonderful experience. I hate church shopping, but I think I'm done. We've visited Reliance a few times in recent years, and in ernest for the last 2 months. We had been trying to make a break from our church of 20 years for various reasons, but watching the online services made it too convenient to stay home and tune in to our old church. This Christmas Eve, we finally made the leap to attend Reliance in person and we love it. I attended a women's event yesterday and have signed up for a Bible study starting in a few weeks. Today, the pastor said, "we don't preach FROM the Bible, we preach THE Bible," and I realized that that is what I had been missing. It is refreshing and feels like home. We have been at Reliance for just under a year and our experience has been wonderful! For a larger church, it feels cozy and everyone is so welcoming and inviting. We've already made so many new friends and have had many opportunities to get involved and serve. They truly embraced us as family. I've seen so much growth in my life and in my family's life. Reliance church loves people and seeks to create leaders. This church is awesome, I live in SD now, but if I were in Temecula I'd definitely be going here. The worship is very good and they play really great modern songs. The people clearly love Jesus and are on mission to be like him in their community. The teaching, which is arguably the most important part about any church, is insanely dead on. The theology is sound and is in line with Calvary Chapel, which sprung out of the Jesus Movement in the late 1960's/early 1970's. Their tagline is "Simply Jesus" and is really reflective of what they are all about, Jesus. I don't have kids, but I've heard the children's ministry is amazing. All the pastors are super awesome. They seem really genuine and all have really good insight in the Word. If you're looking to grow in your relationship with the Lord, this is your church. read more

Love the teaching from the Bible...book by book, chapter by chapter. Great Pastors and staff. Awesome children's ministry. Been going for about 5 years and don't intend on changing. As for the lady giving a bad review due to her interpretation of offense due to bringing her children...I feel bad if she was uncomfortable but getting so defensive and angry for such an insignificant reason seems trivial to me and a superficial reason to bash the whole church by "not recommend". The Pastor We spent several months looking for a good bible based church in Temecula and Murrieta. Getting fed is priority one and Pastor Ted has been great. We spent several years at Maranatha Church in San Diego and Pastor Ted's messages are as good or better. He's a down to earth guy that seems passionate about saving as many people as possible. I understand that he left his job as a fire fighter/paramedic to become a pastor. I find that to be extremely commendable since he went from saving lives to saving souls. Th Youth Programs All three of our kids; 1 High School, 1 Middle School, and 1 Pre-school agree that Reliance is the best and we are all very happy. The staff has been great. To compare to Maranatha again, the kids all agree that Reliance is better. The Worship We've been to several churches that had a lot going for them but the worship teams just didn't do it for us. Reliance worship is awesome. Since going there, I found myself searching for worship music on youtube while Im working and I haven't found a team that compares. They are unquestionably the best I've heard! Summary We've been attending Reliance for about 4 months now and we've had nothing but great experiences. Its a great place to grow in The Word and I highly recommend that you give it a try. There's no pressure. We've been welcomed with open arms and are encouraged to read our Bible. I signed up with Yelp to make a positive comment on a company a few years ago and I rarely post anything online. Absolutely terrible. I went in to this church having high hopes and big expectations because of the name: Simply Jesus. Let me just tell you...my husband travels for work and we just moved to CA 3 weeks ago. I walked in to this church with my two children who always sit with me during service especially when I am "church shopping" and have never attended a service before. We are sitting there, my 4 year old is literally laying his head on my lap, tired. My 6 month old is thee best behaved baby I've ever known. She took her pacifier out, maybe 3 times max, and babbled (giggled happily) with it and stuck it back in her mouth... next thing I know a staff member is asking me to take my children to the "nursing mothers area". My response, "Um..I'm fine" looking at her dumbfounded. She told me she was "suggesting" I take my children there because people in the back could hear my baby. Lady, I was sitting in the back row! SO MUCH FOR BEING JESUS WITH SKIN ON. Church is place where you should feel comfortable bringing your children. If my children were being disruptive to ANYONE I would have taken them outside, I don't need someone "suggesting" I leave... It was thee most outrageous, frustrating thing to ever happen to me AT A CHURCH. I go to church every single Sunday. I love Jesus and I am very passionate about my relationship with the Lord. This unfortunate event definitely opened my eyes to the ignorance of others, even in church. I would NOT recommend this church to anyone with a family! It was dark, boring and very unwelcoming. I really appreciate the no-nonsense approach Reliance takes. They're not trying to wow you with how "contemporary" or "relevant" they are, they're just honestly trying to serve Jesus honestly and whole heartedly. That said, the worship is great, the teaching very strong, and the children's ministry is one of the best I've ever seen. The pastor makes no apologies for saying what the Bible says, though he doesn't go out of his way to be abrasive either. The expositional style is great on that front. This is the place to go if you're serious about honoring Christ with your life. If you're looking for entertainment or positivity to make you feel nice, this might not be your place. I noticed another reviewer had a bad experience with a child in the service, which is unfortunate. I spent 6 months church shopping myself in Colorado at one point and babbling kids was literally a deal breaker for me at a few places, so I think it all depends on your perspective. The teaching this past Sunday 7/20/2014 was not theologically sound for Malachi 3:7-18. "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. "Will a man rob God?" God does not wait for their response, but states, "Yet you are robbing Me!" In tithes and offerings. The commandment in the Mosaic Law concerning the tithe was a tenth from the herd, from the flock and from the produce of the ground. This verse is used by some as a proof text that Christians should give a tenth of their gross income as a compulsory mandate, only, there was no money involved in tithing to the Levites. Each tribe of Israel, except the tribe of Levi, was allotted land, a territory as their inheritance from God. The tribe of Levi was allotted a tenth (tithe) from all the other tribes as their inheritance. The tithe was of the produce of the field and from the seed of the ground, Deu_14:22-23. Just as God had blessed the tribes in the produce of the ground and field, a tenth of all that God had blessed, was given to the sons of Levi for their service in the temple, Num_18:21. The herd or the flock would pass under the rod and every tenth would be holy to the Lord regardless of it's condition, Lev_27:32-33. If someone wanted to redeem a particular beast, he would pay the prevailing price for the beast plus a penalty of a fifth and it was still holy to the Lord, Lev_27:12-13. There were no swapping either good for bad or bad for good, Lev_27:9-10. Even the tribe of Levi was commanded to give a tithe, a tithe of a tithe, Num_18:26, and this tithe (tenth) of a tithe was put into the storehouse, Neh_10:38. Notice there is no mention of money in the list of the tithe, it is of the herd or the flock, Lev_27:32, and what is sown, the grain, new wine, oil, Deu_14:22-23. There is only two places in the Law concerning the tithe that involves money, when redeeming an animal, Lev_27:12-13, and there is a penalty of 20%, one fifth, and when the journey to the place where God chooses to set His name, Deu_14:24-27, and the money is to buy of the herd, or the flock, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires. At the end of every third year all the tithe was to be brought out and deposited in the town, Deu_14:28-29, the Levite, and the alien, the orphan and the widow shall eat and be satisfied. Considering these facts concerning the tithe to the Levite, here are some questions to ponder: If a christian is to pay tithes, to which of the tribes would he belong? God commands that the tithe should be given to the Levites, Num_18:21, where can I find a Levite today? Where in the New Testament is there a reference to Christians paying tithes? Where in the Scripture does it even suggest that believers are to use the Levitical priesthood as a model. When in the history of the christian church did animals from the flock or the herd or the seed of the ground translate into time, talent and treasure (money)? When in the history of the christian church did the church leaders become the priests and the congregation the laity. Did the congregation somehow lose or resign their priesthood? When did the storehouse located in Jerusalem which was destroyed in A.D. 70, become the storehouse of the local church fellowship? How many fellowships today, who use the Levitical priesthood as a model, empty their bank accounts of all tithes and bring it to their town to feed the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow as God commands? If the gospel of grace is a free gift, why does it cost in tithes and offerings? Jesus in His teachings, and the apostle Paul encouraged us to remember the poor, Act_2:45, Act_4:35, Rom_15:26, Gal_2:10, Jas_2:15-16, 1Jn_3:17. Paul also warns us that there are many who peddle the word of God, 2Co_2:17. In other words, "give to the needy and beware of the greedy." Paul also warns us concerning the lazy, 2Th_3:11-12. Another proof text used by some to bolster their teaching on compulsory tithing is, 1Co_9:1-18, especially, 1Co_9:14, that preachers should get paid for preaching the gospel, which it does. They, however, miss, "So also the Lord directed....." an revert to this verse as well as, Gen_14:20. The Lord Jesus did give direction, which is recorded in, Mat_10:1-14, of the twelve, note especially, Mat_10:9-10, and of the seventy, Luk_10:1-11, especially, Luk_10:4-8. With regards to Abraham giving a tenth to Melchizedek, which he did, they fail to mention that Abraham gave 100% of the spoils of war, the booty. He gave 10% to Melchizedek, Heb_7:1-10, of the booty of Chedorlaomer and gave the remaining 90% to the king of Sodom, Gen_14:16-24. Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils to Melchizedek once, with no record of any other occurance. The offering usually associated with the tithe is the heave offering, Exo_29:27-28, 2Ch_31:10-14, Neh_13:4-5, and was for the priests and their family, Lev_22:12. read more

Love this church!! If you are looking for the truth & a strong relationship with Jesus Christ this is a good place to be. Pastor Ted's teaching is passionate & straight forward. Ok, I must admit we get to laugh once in awhile too. His heart is filled with the love of Christ & a strong desire to teach God's word. My husband & I are very grateful for his dedication to the Lord. Reliance has solid men's & women's ministries as well as youth, children's, nursery & mid week growth group ministries for adults. We have attended this church for nearly 7 years & I have grown more in my walk with the Lord at Reliance, than in any other church. I have never met so many, loving, caring, giving servants ever. The worship is contemporary & it rocks, with humble servants using their gifts to glorify God & not themselves.
