I recently had my water service line replaced from the meter to my house. During the project, David discovered that the boring contractor hadn't installed the new line deep enough to meet code. It would have been easy to work around it, trench through my landscaping, or simply let it go--but instead, he advocated for me. He stood his ground, insisted the boring company come back and do the job correctly, and ultimately saved me from ending up with a substandard installation. That decision cost him an entire day's work while everyone waited for the boring company to return, but he still put doing the job right ahead of simply getting paid and moving on. To top it off, when the project was finished, his final invoice came in below the high end of the estimate he had originally given me. In a world where it's common to brace yourself for surprise costs, that was a refreshing experience. Spoke to Bob and he showed up on time once he got me on schedule. First he made sure the issue I was having is actually the issue I had asked him to fix. He then moved on quickly in setting up the area - even had a large plastic with him to make sure water will not go everywhere and started to work on the issue. He made sure all the connections are secure and there are no leaks as he re-pressurized the lines; even assured me the credit card charge is safe and he's not storing anything on his phone before he left. To me, Bob's charges are fair. I can tell he tried as best as he could to reuse some of the parts so he doesn't have to charge the customer the costs. But, it's a 16 years old house in city's hard water; some fittings just refused to budge. Bob just left - will update if there's any issues with workmanship. I was grateful That he was having a slow day he came out and hour later did a bunch of measuring and then cut a hole in my wall found the twisted off pipe. It was copper; not this rubber stuff they use now days. Anyway he use a pipe cutter took a section out; then took the shower arm off and replaced it then reconnected it welded back the copper pipe attached a wood anchor arm on to the pipe so this wouldn't happen again, tested it then resealed the wall.
