My friends and I went to Relume to make charm necklaces. There were plenty of charm options to choose from. While I wish there were more silver charms, we all ended up choosing charms to pair with a gold chain. It was a unique experience making our own jewelry and I'd recommend this to those looking for a different kind of activity to do while out!

Such a cute shop with unique gifts and great service. There's a DIY jewelry making area (make an appointment). There's cute "blind date books" by genre. Fun stickers and trinkets. Love this spot! Definitely pricey, but worth it!

Love this little store!!! They have so many group activities that are fun and cute. We decided to make charm necklaces, and this was a great experience. The staff were very nice and i overall recommend checking it out!

I have 0 idea how you could not love this place. Everything in the store is cute, fun, and unique - and is reasonably priced. They also have a section where you can pick out a "blind date with a book" - definitely will be my weakness whenever I stop in. My friends and I also came in for a candle making workshop, sooo fun - and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely do another one (and maybe other types of workshops they offer too). Do yourself a favor and pop in this store!

Fitting for the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Relume bridges the gap between families and everyone else. A woman-owned vintage and handmade goods shop, they sell "blind date with a book" packages and a "craft bar" for all ages to make bracelets and more. Because of its inclusivity, all kinds of people can be found inside from caregivers with kids to university students. On top of it, the owner and staff are kind and gently guide you through the shop if you need recommendations. The space itself is a work of art and anything from cards to candles to creative DIY kits can be found throughout. Open every day, it's worth a stop in. Or stay for hours making art at the "craft bar." They also host workshops!

This is such a fun and unique store in Eastern Market - always offering a great selection of gifts and activities. The service is impeccable and value exceptional. Tonight, we especially enjoyed the intro to crochet class!

By far the most unique little sho I've ever seen! Everything for sale in the store is eclectic, handmade and often times made from recycled materials. They have a workshop called The Makery where you can partake in different artistic classes.

The "blind date with a book", where you buy a wrapped book, only knowing a brief synopsis, is awesome.

Overall, I…read morebring clothes that I think are excellent quality/good brands, but understand that Secondi might just donate them outright. When I first started consigning, I was told that if there was something I *really* didn't want donated, I could let them know. If they decided not to sell that item, I was obligated to come back immediately to get it. I thought that was a nice thing to do, especially since it creates good will with their consigners. One of the last times that I consigned, I explained to the shop-person that there was a piece I wanted to hold onto if they didn't want to sell it, and I was given some eyerolls and told that this is not something Secondi does. They did complete a quick assessment for me, which I appreciated, but the attitude around it made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be helpful if all the shop folks were on the same page about guidelines! Otherwise, Secondi has been around since I was in high school (and probably even before that), so it's a real DC institution. It's one of the most well known consignment shops in DC, and I do think they do a great job curating their wares and they do not sell mass-market/lower quality items.

Just went back to the shop yesterday -- here are some updates!…read more - The shop is open now on Sundays from 3-6 pm... and NOT open on Saturday from 12-3. Essentially its hours now are Thursday-Sunday 3-6 pm. Even if the door is locked, just knock and the shopkeeper will let you in. - The owner (Sylvia) is going to start transitioning the clothes to the spring season... coming in a couple of weeks or so! - On that note, the shop's strong suit are the accessories -- lots of nice cocktail hats/handbags/jewelry. Examine closely, because pretty much everything in there's for sale. - Starting next week she's going to start making prices static. Yeah, no more haggling, but at least it will be a lot less pressure for those who are uncomfortable with negotiating. In conjunction, some of the prices of the clothing will be adjusted... so maybe that amazing paillette jacket will be cheaper now? Also, I've learned something recently, having become acquainted with the owner. Y'know how it might be kind of intimidating/irritating when the shopkeeper tries to talk to you/make comments about what you're browsing? Well, I always found it that way. All in all, it's just the keeper trying to be friendly, not necessarily trying to pressure you into buying something. Ain't nothin' wrong with trying to be nice.

The prices are to die for, especially in DC where most vintage or thrift stores are anything but thrifty. The shop owner, Sylvia, is such a sweet lady. She gave me a great deal on some amazing pieces I would have easily paid double for and still would have walked out thinking I got a good price. Needless to say I will be going back again and again and will do my best to spread the word about this lovely little gem. I am almost a bit hesitant to share this with too many of my friends, as I want to make sure I get all the goodies, but there seemed to be plenty to go around and the shop owner is just too nice and lovely to not help support. Go there - you will find something you love. Great place to buy gifts!!!

There were a couple of people in front of us in line, no big deal. But, when it got to the person directly in front of us I began to wonder if they really wanted my business. The woman at the register (who I found out was the manager) was moving as slow as possible, literally having complete conversations about various topics. And she kept looking at me, looking away, and then seemed to just move slower (no I'm sorry, with you in a minute, etc). It was one of the stranger (and more uncomfortable) service experiences I've had in recent memory. After suggesting that I would just go elsewhere where she did offer to ring me up and offered a 50 cent discount for the wait. I did purchase the items because my son was getting upset and I wanted to shield him from the ugliness of the situation. However, the manager just didn't seem like she wanted to serve me and I really felt like I was being treated differently than other customers. I won't speculate about why, but needless to say there are plenty of other businesses in the area that I know will happily serve me and I will never walk through the door of this one again.
