Saw Dr Baik on April 30th. My appointment was at 2 p.m. Upon arrival at 1:45, found office locked. They finally opened the door at 2:12 pm siting they were in a meeting for being late. Only reason I came to this location was due to the fact this facility was in-network with Delta Dental. Received a preliminary plan with estimate of costs. Both my regular Dentist and Delta Dental advised me to request for this office to submit the info to Delta Dental for pre approval. It took this office a week to do this. When the office mgr, Melinda, submitted the info to Delta Dental, it was determined the summary file was NOT readable. Delta Dental sent Melinda an email stating this, but no reply. I was forced to conference the call between Delta Dental & Melinda at Dr Baik's office. Melinda is overbearing, unprofessional, and can't seem to be bothered to answer a question directly when I asked her if she sent it via PDF. She had NO CLUE HOW SHE SENT THE SUMMARY FILE, BUT realized the file she submitted was unreadable. She was suppose to fax this to Delta Dental, but they NEVER received. She NEVER bothered to respond back to Delta Dental. Delta Dental advised the fax was NOT received. I attempted to request Melinda to send me a readable copy of the summary so I could fax, along with asking her to fax it again. She kept interrupting me and would NOT listen to my request. She is a person who plays victim and kept saying over and over that she can only do her job and REFUSED to listen. Needless to say, I would NOT TRUST this office at all. The reviews on the Delta Debtal website also are NOT the best too. BEWARE

He is such a kind professional, the kind of man that you pull for to succeed. This year, leading up to my annual cleaning, the office called me multiple times throughout the week asking me to move my scheduled Saturday 12:30 PM appointment to an earlier time (around 10 AM). I clearly explained each time that I work long hours and that 12:30 PM was the earliest I could come. Despite this, they continued to pressure me to change my appointment. On the morning of my appointment, they called again and told me they needed me to come earlier because "the doctor did not want to wait two hours for my appointment." I was also told they "usually close early," which makes me question why they even offer later appointment times if they are unwilling to honor them. I was then told that I would need to reschedule, even though I was fully willing and able to attend my original appointment. I had already rearranged my schedule and stacked multiple medical appointments on my only day off that week specifically to accommodate this visit. Like many working adults, I have very limited flexibility during business hours, and I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a healthcare office to respect a time slot that they themselves scheduled. As someone who works in healthcare, I found this extremely unprofessional and not patient-centered at all. When I later decided to cancel because I no longer felt comfortable with the level of professionalism, the receptionist simply said, "Okay, I will cancel your appointment and inactivate your account. Goodbye." No apology, no attempt to address the issue, no basic courtesy. Patients should not be made to feel like their time is less valuable than a provider's convenience. The lack of respect, communication, and professionalism throughout this entire interaction was shocking. I will not be returning and would not recommend this office based on this experience.

I was given a written treatment plan showing my estimated patient responsibility at approximately $2,443. I specifically requested that my insurance coverage be verified and was told that if I waited until my insurance became active at the end of the month, approximately 50% of the cost would be covered. Based on that information, I waited an additional 30 days with a bridge hanging out of my mouth, believing I was making the financially responsible decision. After waiting, I was then informed that my policy had a missing-tooth clause and the expected coverage did not apply. I ultimately paid approximately $3,200 out of pocket. My frustration isn't simply that insurance didn't pay what I expected. It's that I specifically asked for verification, relied on the information the office provided, and delayed necessary dental treatment because of it. Unfortunately, when I attempted to address my concerns, I also found the office manager to be defensive and rude rather than solution-oriented. As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when a customer raises a legitimate concern supported by documentation. I have my written treatment plan and payment records and have formally requested that management review and resolve this matter. If Epic Family Dentistry resolves this appropriately, I will gladly update my review to reflect that.
