I am a tenant in a property managed b4 Remax Advantage Jonesboro for 1 1/2yrs. I have paid my rent on time and before time, per their records, had no problems with neighbors or anything. I have allowed certain things to go undone in the duplex because I know it's an older property such as delapitated or decaying foundational boards under the kitchen, cracking paint around the ceiling, rotted wood from previous termite damage on the roof at porch, Windows that leak inside when it rains, and front door that when it is closed you can see outside however today's level of disrespect by Allen, the owner of Remax Advantage Jonesboro and his team, I will not allow. Today, I went into the office to speak with someone about my vacating the property once my lease was up, I got the dates wrong while I spoke to Micheal. I left and received a call from Allen once I left the office about the date I stated I was moving out. He told me I needed to write a letter stating that I was vacating. My error was that I asked him the purpose of the letter since I had already given verbal notice to "Sean" and my lease was going to be up so I didn't understand. I didn't realize Allen had put me on speakerphone where there were two other people in the room. One of people said "you don't even know who you talk to because there's no "Sean" here so that's why you need to write the letter." I told them that I had just seen & spoken to the person and could describe him. At this point, there were three people, two men (Allen & Michael) and a woman, talking at me in a conversation that was suppose to be private. Michael, then mispronounced my name and I corrected him then he did it again on purpose, they laughed then Allen says in response...his name is Michael but he goes by Mateo. I let them know that I didn't appreciate being talked to like that especially since I have been a great tenant to them. Allen looked at the record and said yes you have paid your rent on time. They were talking over me and this was all because I asked a question about the purpose of writing a letter since my lease was expiring anyway. I was attempting to gain understanding which I stated several times during this call. And eventually I was hung up on by Allen, the owner. They were very unprofessional, rude, childish, and condescending. To be laughed at, talked down to, ganged up on, and disrespected like I was today was very disheartening. I've been a tenant of Remax for the past year and their service was excellent!!! It started with when I filled out the application to rent a property and three days later I got the keys to the house. Anytime I submitted a maintenance request form, i got a call from a Remax representative the next day saying the request was received and someone from such and such company will call me to set up a time to fix the repairs. Sometimes I got the call from the company doing the repairs the same day, but overall, repairs were done in less that three days. Whenever someone was coming by to perform monthly maintenance tasks, i would get a call notifying me of such.
