The most unethical wrongdoing people. I issued a policy for full coverage and they hid information from me. After they pulled the money from my account $350, they refused to send my ID stated that I need to meet specific conditions that they did not tell me about at the beginning. I canceled the policy in three 3 hours from the issuing time. They are holding $88 as non-refundable. It is day 8 and still no credit to my account. I demand my right of full refund since I canceled in a period of three hours due to wrong and misleading information represented to me by their agent. Also, be careful they charge $8 every time they touch your account, (just to use your credit or debit), which means they take your money and they charge you to take it. read more

I don't even want to give them one star! This insurer sucks all the way around! They are difficult to talk to and get help from! I was paying outrageous money for only liability and I switched to State Farm and pay LESS money for FULL COVERAGE!!! Been to the congress location and this location. They never fail with having the BEST customer service I've seen. They always go the longest yard for me and my insurance. AVOID!!! This is possibly the worst auto insurance! When I first purchase the coverage the agent and I agree that if I paid a little more I would have road side assistant and towing, when I finally needed towing I found out I didn't have it? AND they tried to over charge me, I called them several times but no answer. I was forced to cancel my coverage and switch over to State Farm (best decision ever) 1 MONTH later they are finally calling me back?! This company is BS! read more

Should be NO stars. They have different employees all the time. What one says, another one says something else. They never answer the phone. They always charge you different amount of fees for same things. Only way they have good reviews is that they must come from employees. Their offices are stinky and run down. They take advantage of the Spanish speaking community that tends to use them. I was paying my bill on 7th St and overheard the man telling a woman in Spanish that liability coverage was $0 deductible coverage to fix her car in case of an accident??? BUT from my experience 7th St is the best place to pay as that office charges the least amount of fees. All the different offices charge different fees. This place is HORRIBLE. read more

Called in to pay my insurance, was told she would charge me $3 for processing. She actually charged me and add'l $5 on top of the "processing fee". When I called about this matter, I was told she may have just decided to overcharge me so that I would have consistency in what I was used to paying. This is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard! After going round and round about how absurd this sounded, I was then told that each office can add extra fees, especially if I call a different office than where my policy was actually started. The thing is, when the consumer calls, we are sent to whatever office available. I understand this, however, if you tell me you will charge an add'l $3, and I agree, you do not have the right to add $5 more. It's considered theft. So today, I will go to my bank, they will back me up with disputing the whole amount and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Not because of $5, but because of the blatant misuse of my money. read more

My girlfriend carried insurance with Personable insurance distributed by Amco / Remco. She is pregnant and needed me to obtain insurance so I could share driving responsibilities. We came from Oregon, and in Oregon I had an SR-22 requirement (at this time my license was suspended and I was not driving). On the 13th of March 2015 we went to Amco Insurance to inquire about being added to her policy with an SR-22. We were told by the employee there at the time (Arsenia) that I could absolutely be added to my partner's policy as well as receive an instant SR-22 that would cover me in Texas as well as cover the Oregon requirement for an SR-22. In no uncertain terms this was GUARANTEED by the sales person Arsenia. The cost was only $180.00 plus a $6.00 processing fee for a total of $186.00. I paid via debit and was issued a boiler-plate SR-22 validation signed by Adam Swindell, president of Amco Insurance. (Go figure). One week later I called the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles to inquire about the status of my license and to ascertain whether or not the SR-22 information had been received. I was told that they had not received any SR-22 information and that a Texas SR-22 would not fulfill the Oregon requirement for SR-22 insurance. I followed up by calling Personable Insurance (the policy that was purchased through Amco) only to find out that I had no policy with them. I explained that I had purchased SR-22 insurance and been added to my partner's policy on the 13th of March, but was informed that NO POLICY INFORMATION HAD BEEN UPLOADED FROM THE AMCO LOCATION TO PERSONABLE INSURANCE. The representative there advised me to pursue a refund from Amco. I had paid $186.00 for insurance that did not exist. Soon after I received a notification in the mail both from Oregon and from Texas. The notification from Oregon was to inform me that SR-22 information had been received but that it was not valid as it was from another state. The letter from Texas was to inform me that DPS could not find an insurance policy matching my name. On the 18th of March 2015 I returned to the Amco location in Bastrop to talk to a representative. I spoke to the manager there, Rodrigo, and he informed me that if I had proof that the insurance was not accepted Amco would refund the entire amount of $186.00. I presented the Oregon DMV letter that explained that the insurance policy and SR-22 were not valid. At no time during this period was I able to use the insurance or SR-22 and at no time was I able to operate a vehicle. Upon presenting the letter to Rodrigo, he IMMEDIATELY retracted his statement about refunding the money and then said that he would have to see what he could do. He then called the offices in Austin until he reached a woman named Paulette. After some discussion he informed me that Amco would NOT be refunding me my money EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF THE MONEY EVER BEING APPLIED TOWARD AN INSURANCE POLICY, stating that I had "used" the insurance over the last five days and that was reason enough to refuse a refund. and they informed me that a portion of the money would be refunded for an amount of $80.00. I still have not received any refund. I am a hard-working person. So is my partner. We are expecting our first child and are not wealthy people. I was sold a fraudulent (non-existent) insurance policy by Amco and advise anyone in need of insurance to NOT purchase insurance from them. Your money is better spent at a more reputable distributor. read more
