I loved this place so much that I took my family there on Father's Day! Yep! I ordered the same thing and everyone else switched it up!!! I was wow'd again! I'm tellin' ya, go here...you will not regret it!! The only thing that I did not care for is how the beverages were handled. Water came from a jug on a cart outside the restaurant . No ice out there and no offer of ice. Condiments were also outside. Now! Maybe that's how they roll if you dine outside, but I didn't like it. The felafel burger was delicious including the Udis gluten free bun. It was the best gluten free bun I had ever had. The waitress said that the chef grills it, which helps explain why it was so good. A very generous 3-star leaning towards 2. This is a tiny place with limited seating. Be prepared to wait a long time to be seated. The service staff is good and the reason why I didn't give a 2-star. Now for the food, I've had better at Wendy's. The smash burgers are small, burnt, and over salted. They lack any sort of flavor or seasoning other than that salt. They are stingy with the toppings. My burnt smash burger had a single lettuce leaf and one slice of tomato. My table mates didn't get much better. These burgers are certainly over priced and no where near as the Beverly burger! But times has changed! It took over 15 minutes for two burgers and a basket of over priced fries $6 plus! I was pleased with burger but the over priced burger took away from the quality of the burger! Remedy sauce about a dollar! Service a tad slow! Great atmosphere! Lots of energy! Food was so so...it was a decent burger but honestly a burger I could get from Burger King. The service was horrible. We were sat right by the door with a toddler with another four top further in the restaurant. Not greeted within the first five minutes as us server protocol. My partner and I found ourselves in Staunton this weekend to celebrate my birthday. After a day of hiking in Shenandoah, we came back to the Airbnb and got ready to go out for some drinks and then burgers here at the Remedy. This place was absolutely a 5/5! First off, the service was great. Everyone was very friendly and all the food came out quick and fresh. I loved our waiter, he was so kind and answered all our questions with ease. For the food - the only thing I may pass on next time was the truffle fries. The fries didn't seem super seasoned themselves, it was just that they had the mayo and the parm on top. They were still pretty good, but I think I'd save a buck next time and just do regular fries to pair with the burger and add some salt. We split the Ballard burger and the Remedy (w/ bacon). These burgers were 10/10. The buns were fresh and delicious, the meat was fantastic and great smash-burger quality, all the toppings were fresh and everything was just *chef's kiss*. I'm going to be craving these burgers for a while, so I'll have to come back! The seasonal cocktail was so good, too, like a "drunk apple pie" cocktail. Went in July and never did this review! The food was good, albeit, a little smaller than expected. The waitstaff were kind and attentive. The only issue we had with it was that the bill was initially combined and we aren't the type to split the bill evenly; we're paying for our own food. Disappointing. Disgusting. Does this look like a good burger to you? This may be dismissed as a simple hate review, but believe me, I don't hand out one-star reviews willy nilly. I went here specifically because of the reviews and the recommendations I had been hearing from people. It's difficult to describe the level of disappointment I felt after finally visiting this establishment, but I'll do my best. It's the fourth of July. Staff may be down, but business is steady. My fiancee and I are 2 of 12 people in the restaurant. We sat down at the bar and are greeted with a smile. After picking up our menus, I order a $4 canned beer and my fiance orders an $8 beer on tap. Pricy, sure, but nothing too out of the ordinary. We then see the prices of the burgers. Many of the burgers are priced between $13-$17. I remember my fiancee noting, "Man, these must be big burgers!" Then, we realized that for this price, they don't even come with fries! But again, we've had fancy burgers before, and not every fancy burger comes with fries. So we shrug it off, agree to share a pimento cheese burger, and give our order to the bartender. How long does a single burger take to cook? 8 minutes? 15 minutes? Maybe other items were also made to order, so a generous 20 minutes? My fiancee and I waited over 30 minutes for this one burger to come out. When we finally saw it, our faces dropped. It was burnt. It was a $15 smashburger. Small, and noticeably lacking the heaping amounts of pimento cheese we were expecting to see on a burger advertising "pimento cheese." Sliced into halves and primed for sharing, we tentatively picked up our lunch. Salt. That was the only flavor we tasted aside from burned patty. Salt, salt, salt, salt, salt. Not pimento cheese, not any other flavor advertised, but salt. It was, in a word, repugnant. That taste lingered in our mouths for over an hour. The people around us, who had also talked it up after our arrival, asked what we thought. We put on a smile and said, "The buns are great!" And they were. But if the best thing you can say about a burger is that the bun rocks, then your burger has hit rock bottom. 2 beers and smashburger without fries with tip cost us $35; $35 for a 30 minute wait and a stomach ache. I wish I could have experienced what others have experienced here, but I wouldn't recommend Remedy Burger to any of my family, friends, or hundreds of coworkers looking for a day of exploration in Staunton. Later that night, we went to Cook-Out- a fast food restaurant. We ordered a burger. It was a crappy, cheap, Cook-out burger. But it was better than Remedy. read more

If you're after a solid burgers and fries experience in Staunton, Remedy is a great option. I had a chip on my shoulder going in because they replaced my favourite Phô place, but hey, bygones over the bridge as they say. For serious: Remedy's smashed patties are a wonderful combination of crispy on the edges and juicy in the middle. Well appointed burgers adorn the menu, or you can get all uppity and make your own. Your call. Do you. But I'd do the menu first because every burger on it is well thought out and tasty. Fries are usually nice and hot; crispy with the right salt balance. The Remedy sauce--a piquant remoulade--is a nice condiment on both burger and fries. My fave is definitely the namesake Remedy Burger, but the Ballard is a close second. Interior is warm if a little acoustically live when there's a crowd, but a stool at the window is always a nice spot to be. Weekends the outdoor seating options are more plentiful. My only gripe with Remedy is the push toward online "robot" ordering and service. Thankfully it's expressly an option--you can opt for the human experience! When you have something as special as a crafted burger from locally sourced ingredients, right in the heart of historic Staunton, why muck it up with something as pedestrian as app-based in-store service. This place is an amazing little found I. The heart of downtown Staunton. The burgers are flavorful and the toppings are perfect. If you don't mess up like I did and get the potato bun it goes from a 8 to a 9 real quick. Not gonna lie though, the sauce has a "Big Mac" quality to it so if you're into that you'll for sure love it. Only 3 stars because of food portion and price. It's a really nice and clean place, and the staff was very friendly and efficient. My server, Madison, was amazing! When greeted, they tell you that you can either have a server, or a "robot" experience. You can scan a QR code and order yourself and someone will bring it to you so you don't have to interact with anyone on a regular basis. There is a water station to get your own refills. I chose to go out on a limb and try the broccoli burger. Would not recommend. It's not that it was bad food. So much cheese and it was thinner than a dollar bill. $11 for a few flattened pieces of broccoli and cheese and fries. Fries were really crispy, not to my liking but they were good. Everything is a la cart. They charge you 75 cents for ranch-it was a black lime ranch and it was really good. The remedy sauce was very good too! Came here for the first time and it was really good. I definitely would come again. My mom got the chicken sandwich and said it was really good, especially since the slice was thin. I got the cheeseburger with lettuce and cheese and we both shared truffle fries. The cheeseburger patty was a little too thin in my opinion (it's a smash burger but still), and a smidge salty, but honestly it wasn't a big deal and sure didn't stop me from finishing it. Went in last night with a group of friends. With the award of best burger joint I had high expectations. I was severely disappointed with the food. The burger was dry and had the texture of burnt plastic. I slathered it with mayo and katsup but that did little to make it less dry or brittle. The toasted bun was almost burnt. When the check arrived, I was surprised to see an add on charge for onions when all they did was put the onions on the side. As it was only .50 I just let it go so we could get out of there.
