The cold bread sticks with "light cheese"
    Amy S.

When I ordered dinner, the man on the phone said the delivery would be in an hour. The food arrived 90 minutes later and was cold. On top of that the bread sticks we requested with light cheese were covered in thick cheese. Consequently, my son wouldn't eat them and I had to throw them away. I can't tolerate any grains, which I explained when I ordered my salad. Consequently, it was frustrating to have to pick off the croutons they included in the salad. My son liked his cold pizza well enough and everything else was right with my salad, which is why I give NY Flying Pizza two stars.

Our neighbor recommended this as their current go to place for great Italian food that delivers to our neighborhood. Great neighbor, great recommendation! We live on the edge of Staunton and tried the Staunton location for lunch today. As per usual, we started with fried calamari. The calamari was tender with a light batter and great homemade marinara. The greeter and our server were great. Very friendly and attentive. Our remembered the usual orders of other patrons that entered after us. My girlfriend ordered the house special Pizza with ham, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. Pizza was thin and very tasty. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce. The spaghetti was cooked perfect with a very meaty sauce. It came with a great salad and delicious, warm garlic rolls. The portions were huge the taste great and the prices reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back and plan to try the take out next time...

Delicious stromboli! Crust was baked to perfection, lightly dusted with garlic. Stuffed with "toppings" but on the inside, of course.

The service was quick and polite. A few times I was hoping to see the personnel a bit more, though. Food was good!

Their cheesesteaks used to be my favorite; but now, they're way too salty. Boo! They're not very good at all.

Finally, our drinks were taken by the bar tender and before we could get them we were seated. The drinks were never put in or she just flat ignored us. (We both saw her write the order down.) Our server finally had to re order them, we had now been there 22 minutes with no cocktails. Absurd. Anyway, our server Jerrod was great but everything else was subpar. I've made better scallops in my sleep and the presentation was an absolute train wreck, looked like it had been thrown on the floor and then scooped back up. The charcuterie plate was decent and the locally sourced cheeses were great, especially that Brie. But this place is overrated, at best. I can't recommend it for the price. Pretentious, overpriced and quite boring, not to mention unprofessional.

There are so many options in this lovely town but I made a reservation at Zynodoa because I have been on a farm-to-table kick lately. The servers and hosts were all lovely, interacting with both the guests and each other professionally and amicably. My server Sarah gave me as much attention as anyone else, even though I was the only person dining alone. I ordered the tomato and burrata appetizer. I am not a big raw tomato eater but I knew if these were truly farm-to-table, they would taste good, and they did. The flavor felt like a combination of sunshine and a warm hug! The cheese tasted like a sweet kiss. The portion was substantial, and there was balsamic reduction and a generous amount of coarse pesto. I ate the whole thing! For the main course I ordered the flat iron steak. Because I was traveling and didn't want leftovers, I asked the server for a smaller portion than listed, but either I wasn't clear or it wasn't an option--It's okay, though. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was a shade above rare; again, okay. Sides were good but I added salt. The meal was a bit pricey but probably fair given that it was sourced locally. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the chef is heavy handed on the sauces, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. Oh, I ordered the pinot noir and it was good, smooth, balanced. Overall impression of Zynodoa was it felt like visiting the home of a friend with a garden who loves to cook and share with her friends. The portions were generous and the seasoning was substantial. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Staunton.

Diner vibes, but not put on, with memorabilia on display from their long tenure here. You order from a land line phone at your table, or even from your car, and kids meals come in unique boxes to make the little ones happy. None of the food they serve is particularly amazing, but none of it is bad either. It's solid and will fill you up. But the star of the show are the prices. I live in Richmond, and you can't get lunch anywhere for under $15/person. Here, that $15 will cover two meals easily. And it really is a good place for the whole family.

This place started around 1952. The order was given from a touch tone phone at the table to the front counter. We thought tnat some of the younger customers would not know how to use a dial telephone. Drive through service is also available, as it has been since the 1950's. Ordered a burger basket (burger and fries) $8., a chicken tender basket (five chicken tenders with fries) $11.50, onion rings, chocolate malted milkshake, chocolate ice cream dish, We got the food in about fifteen minutes brought to our table. Very reasonable. The 2 oz burger that I received was worst of all the items that I had. It was tasteless and reminded me of a smalll burger at Burger King. 1.5 stars. do not recommend it. We hope that the recipe for the burger would be improved. The crinkle cut French fries were average 3 to 3.5 stars and not plentiful. Could have used more. The onion rings were one of the two great items that we had. They were very good in every way. 4 plus stars. My mallted milk shake was good and the price was reasonable. It was appropriate for a 1950's restaurant. 4 stars. The chicken tenders were large had good taste. 4 stars. Rolls came with the chicken tenders. They were soft and had good taste. 4 stars. The chocolate ice cream, along with the onion rings was the standout best item that we had. 5 stars for the chocolate ice cream. It was creamy with a deep chocolate flavor and the ingredients in it were quality ingredients. Loved it. We enjoyed the good music with the meal. Everyone who worked there was very nice to us, including the manager. We will love to dine there again and hope that it can be soon. Thank you for the nice 1950's style food.
