    Kashmiri chai and the stamp card
    Donna B.

    Love Remedy. In the heart of downtown this Remedy isn't too far from Shaw Conference centre, and right across from the Bay/Enterprise square LRT station. Here is where I hear they make the samosas so order them here as they are supposed to taste the best. Art that's always changing on the walls, full tables, and tasty chai- that's Remedy. The bright paint makes this space feels so artsy. Parking just south there is some parkade parking and when you hit it at a good time there is the occasional street parking too. We always end up paying for parking when we come to this Remedy. Got to put a shout out for our favourite dish- the Chana masala, a spicy chickpea delight with naan is our absolute favourite. And the most unique chai that is sure to surprise you is the Kashmiri chai made with pistachios and topped with some rose petals. You have to try it at least once. Ps- don't forget to get a stamp card- every 7 drinks get the 8th one for free.

    Thr staple remedy cafe. Always makes a perfect chai latte!! Their samosas (veggie/potato) are to die with they come with a great sweet saucd. Go with a friend 2 large chai latters and 4 samosas fir 16 dollars! Nice little treat! Beware of the rundown bathrooms (ask for a key) only reason im giving this place a 4/5 instead of 5/5

    Hey did you know boxed water is better...??? Lol

    My sister's Veganism is rubbing off on me... I am starting to fall for Mr. Vegan... His Dashing good looks, those classic traditional styles with a hint modern day chic. And you know he's totally fit, fine, and healthy... too hard to resist... He's an acquired taste but if you acquire him he definitely has you hooked. Oh and did I mention he smells divine? Tuesday night and my sister and I are starving for some wholesome comfort vegan Food. We drove around downtown and everything seems to be closed or closing. Then we thought Remedy! They must be open. We drove over and sure enough the bright open sign was on, thank goodness. This is not our first visit here, we have been going to Remedy south side for over 10 years so that's how we know that they must be open in downtown. You first walk in and you know this place is the happening place. The rainbow of people from all walks of life has made their way over and I'm guessing it's for the chai or food. Our first reaction was to go to the dessert window and see what treats are displayed. It never fails how good the dessert look and sound, plus there are vegan desserts that look too yummy. We decided to get food first (our stomachs were crying from neglect). I got the vegan butter chicken with naan and my sister got a vegan dish but I am so sorry I forgot what she had but it looked good( I posted a pic). We also got their famous Chai. I highly recommend dining in because I think the mugs are so much bigger than the "to go" cups. Our Chai was hot, warm, delicious, and full of crunchy almonds and coconut bits. Oh to die for... It did not take long for our meals to arrive. My vegan butter chicken smelled so good and the naan was fluffy, light, and easy to eat with my sauce. I know my sister loved hers because I just saw her inhale her meal. By the end of it I was ultimately full that I could not be tempted by dessert. This place it's lovely, from the unique staff to the colourful patrons and decor. The food will always be the hearty comfort vegan meal that makes you're belly sing and the chai is amazing. If you're passing by grab a dessert it would not disappoint. This is our go to place, whether it be the south side or the downtown location it never fails to impress. I will always come back.

    We grabbed a slice of Oreo cake to share and some saffron tea to wash it down. This is a nice little spot to relax and chat with friends!

    We ended up visiting this spot to get out of the rain one evening (since that's all it did this summer) and ended up really liking it! We only shared a slice of cake and some tea while we were there, but we've heard good things about everything else they have to offer here too, be it teas to full on Indian inspired meals and desserts. The atmosphere is laid back and plays good music you can enjoy while hanging out with friends for a good time all around :)

    I was so nervous about the opening of a new Remedy. My beloved Remedy. Quirky, tasty Remedy, location of my first date with my husband and many, many cake dates with friends over the years, where you always leave smelling like butter chicken (mmm, butter chicken). I loved Health Fare that was in this space before, but even though I was bummed about losing it, and I was skeptical of a new Remedy, I was very, very excited. I stopped in for the first time about a week after they opened up and I'm happy to say I've returned many times since. The space is definitely brighter and more open than Remedy #1's cramped interior, but it hasn't lost any of its charm. It's actually a fantastic study spot or place to chill because of the natural light and cast of characters that are always around (both customers and staff). My go-to is the butter chicken dish and a Kashmiri Chai. I don't know why they started adding flower petals (or whatever they are) to the drink. It's just weird. But it's still a tasty, creamy, hot, near-perfect sip. And of course, the butter chicken (to stay or to go) is the most delicious thing on the planet. Friendly service, a great soundtrack, a sunny ambience, great food and drink. Oh, and they have free wifi and plug-ins! And late hours! Oh my. Yep, life at Remedy is good.

    I love the Remedy location downtown. It has been open for only three weeks, but is already my home office away from home. Whether you are enjoying the live music on Friday evenings, hanging our with friends, or working diligently away, the atmosphere is fun and the staff are super friendly. For the working from home/cafe crowd, Remedy is the place to be. The restaurant boasts free wifi, more power outlets than you can shake a stick at, plenty of seating and plenty of delicious Indian food to snack on. My powering-through-a-report meal is the Masala Dosa which is available on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Dosa is a veggie-filled crepe that comes with four dipping sauces (I believe they are: mint, coconut, plum, and a curry soup). Cap it off with Remedy's home-made chai and you have a recipe for good food, good vibes, and (hopefully) getting some good work done.

    This is my favourite place to kill my time when I get bored . The food is delicious. By far , the best Chai place in Edmonton . Butter chicken and tandoori chicken wraps are my favourite snack in this place . Free Wi-Fi , good service , tasty food and good location . Good place to go for a coffee date ! Their lunch hours are pretty busy and lineups are usually to the doors . Be spicy , Drink Chai :}

    Brilliant Indian cuisine with an Edmonton twist. A long standing institution of the Edmonton food scene which started out in a small cafe by the university has now blossomed into numerous locations around town. Great chai along with a number of other signature dishes. On this occasion we had the butter chicken wrap which had amazing juicy chicken nestled inside the curried wrap. For this lunch meal we also ordered the masala dosa which came with a variety of sauces and side dishes. One of the lesser known menu items but amazing nonetheless. Have been coming here for a few years now and certainly will be back again!

    The service was really good and fast but the drink I got wasn't good. I got Kashmiri chai but it tasted more like a pistachio latte.

Honestly, I think it was a rip-off the samosa's. I'm sure they doubled, if not tripled. Dip them into the hot oil because they had. Not a lot of taste. They were very dark. They were crunchy, which was good. The chutnee was watered down yogurt. Very disappointing, won't be going there again.

This place is where the old Lessard library branch used to be (which now has been converted to a mosque, crazy!). A buddy of mine and I decided to check out Chutney for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at about 12:30pm and we were the first people to set foot in the restaurant. It wasn't very busy while we were there, with only three other groups coming in (two individuals and one family). By the time we left, they were setting up the buffet, with an intriguing selection of options to choose from. Next time! That or try their breakfast specials (weekends only). - 2x Vegetable samosa ($1.00 each) - our vegetable samosa's came out piping hot. Made in house and fresh, these were easily worth the $1.00 price tag. Should have got more! The mint chutney dip it came with was tasty but not spicy. - Naan bread ($1.99) - the naan bread was cut into four decent sized pieces, which was enough for both of us to share. This one was a little more robust and chewier, but it was, of course, perfect to soap up with the goat korma. - Goat korma ($14.99) - the goat was tender, flavourful and fell off the bone. We asked them about the different variations (there's also achari, curry, karahi, palak and vandaloo to choose from) and decided to go with the korma, which was slightly spicy and is a mix of yoghurt, cream, nuts and seeds. Seriously, goat is so gooooooooooood. - Vegetable biryani ($9.99) - the vegetable biryani was simple but helped balance out the rest of our meal. It came with a side of yoghurt raita, which we didn't really touch as it didn't add much to the dish. - Gulab jamun - we were each given a gulab jamun, on the house, to end our meal! Love freebies, so nice of them. These were light and most importantly, not overly sweet (which normally is the case). Service was super friendly. They ask you how spicy you want your meal to be (we went with a 6 but I'd recommend at least an 8 or 9 if you want it to be actually spicy). They were doing some renos in the back - according to our waiter, they are planning to grill meats and even have pizza soon! SWEET. If you're looking for a hidden gem, check out Chutney.
