My family and I really enjoyed this local Brewery in Montrose. The reviews all talk about how great the food is and that's honestly a big part of what brought us in as we were hungry and looking for a spot that would suit everyone's needs. The kids enjoyed their food and we enjoyed ours as well so that was a hit. The space itself is nice and modern and you order at the counter which was honestly also nice and easy with kids in tow. The beers were all good but we did have a bit of a snafu with the bartender as I went to order our drinks and I didn't have my ID on me. I can't fault her too much as I know it's required and you must be 21 to drink, but I'm 38, and I haven't been ID'd in YEARS So, it was a bit of a let down to have that be such an issue. I did after all also have my 40 year old husband and two kids in tow so there wasn't much about me that screamed "under 21". All that to be said, we ended up having an overall good time and I'd return. I think that if we lived here this would be a regular spot for us, and I'd remember to bring my ID! read more

First time here. We ordered the Philly sandwich and it did not disappoint. The meat was just right, the cheese was perfect and not overpowering. But the detail I liked the most is that the bread was perfectly toasted, and it had a nice, even butter flavor. It came with some waffle fries that went well with it. It was priced fairly. The environment is restaurant and bar, but during lunch time it was calm, and not too packed. Legit spot for lunch. read more

So sad to update this review but after our recent experiences I feel it's necessary. A couple months ago when the weather was still nice me and my husband decided to sit on the patio. We ordered 2 grilled mother cluckers and bock bock fries (our go to). It was about 4pm and there were only a few people there (we were the only ones outside). After about 40 minutes waiting for our food I decided to go in to check on things. Our order was sitting on the counter. Their response was "sometimes the buzzer doesn't work from the table you're sitting at"..... ummmmm what? We ended up eating the cold chicken (and I mean cold, not luke warm) sandwiches because we were starving but asked them to remake the fries. Fast forward to a few weeks ago it was a Friday and me and a friend ordered some sandwiches and sat in the back half of the brewery . After about 25 minutes my buzzer went off. When I got up to the counter there was an order of fish and chips... they called the wrong buzzer. No biggie. Well another 20 minutes went by and nothing. People around us that ordered after us were getting their food. So I went back up to the counter and there on their service line were our chicken sandwiches. When I asked the employee about my order she went back and checked and came back and said "we just finished them up". I took the sandwiches back to the table and again they were COLD. Not to mention since the coleslaw was sitting on the bun they were completely soggy. Didn't take the sandwiches back because we had a baby with us that needed to go to bed. I'm not sure if it's a buzzer issue or what. But we aren't sure if / when we will be returning to Pomona, sadly. read more

This is a decent place to stop. I enjoyed every beer i tasted. (Mexican, castle, and red) The bartenders were friendly and fun. I ordered an appetizer, only to find out it comes out with the meal, still good but pointless at that point. I had the wings, and they tasted fine, but man they put a lot of breading on them. We had dinner at the Pomona Brewing Company Wedesday evening. You order your meal at the counter and they give you a buzzer for when it's ready. Order your drinks at the bar. The staff were all super friendly. There are a bunch of outdoor tables and indoor tables as well as a bunch of fun outdoor games. There was trivia going on indoors the night we were there and it was packed so we elected to sit outdoors. However a rain shower set in so we moved to the bar indoors. We were next to the speakers so it was super loud and hard to hear which is the only reason I don't give it five stars. For food we had the fried green beans. We loved these. They come with ranch but we asked for blue cheese instead. Lightly battered, perfectly fried, so delicious. We also had the montrose philly and caprese sandwiches. Both were excellent and served with crispy crunchy waffle fries. I adored the food. I also enjoyed the trout stout with its chocolatey coffee flavor. Definitely would go here again. read more

Came in for a quick bite to eat after a long day of driving. Parking was a little dark so it got a bit confusing since the lot was packed but I managed to get a spot. Once we got in, we were able to order our food from a kitchen window and went to get beers from the bar area. The food was solid. Pomona Brewing Company is a relatively new brewpub in Montrose. We came here on a Wednesday around 5pm and the place was completely packed. It must be the new hot spot in Montrose! First impressions: impeccably clean (almost too clean, haha), deceivingly large space, 15 taps, food menu, TV's, lots of seating, games, etc. You can tell they're still working out a few kinks with the drink ordering. The TV on the left had taps 1-8 listed while the TV on the right had taps 9-15 listed. So if you enter on one side and get in line to order, you won't be able to read the other beer list, or even know it was a different list of beers. This happened to me on my first round, which pigeon holed my options. Not the end of the world, but room for improvement. Food wise, they have a separate kitchen and it's HUGE. I don't know what this space was previously, but good lord it's a chef's dream to have all that space. Nice array of popular food selections catering to the standard beer drinker. I had the Montrose Philly Melt ($12.49), which comes fries. Very good, ooey and gooey, paired well with my beer. Speaking of beer, I had the Castle Lager and Otter Pop IPA while I was there. Both tasty. I'm sure the brewery has plans to expand the tap list and feature more of their beers. As customers, we have to understand good things take time. They're a new brewery and they'll have more options soon! I also remember seeing Colorado Cider Company and a Tommyknocker root beer on the tap list. Don't miss the back room, where you'll find additional seating and games like foosball, shuffleboard and darts. Wish nothing for the best for this place. Listen up my brewtiful friends... If you're looking for some super tasty crafted beers then this is THE place for you! Slightly off the beaten path, this ah-mazing new brewpub is da bomb! We came here on a Thursday night and the place was packed and buzzing with a whole lot of peeps, beer, food and good vibes! Loved the décor...very industrial with high ceilings, garage doors, industrial lighting, game area in the back...and there's even seating outside with a fire pit for some cool and warm seasonal fun! More notably...it's said that the orchard ladders (repurposed as a super cool light fixture) hanging from the ceiling are from one of the oldest apple orchards in Cedaredge, CO...and below it there is a vintage community table and bench seating from bleachers at Pomona Elementary School right here in Montrose...how cool is that? Ok, so on to the beer! The tap line-up was looking mighty good (which included a dry cider and a Pomona root beer). We opted for a couple of Pomona Otter Pop IPA's, Pomona Castle Lager's and a few non-alcohol drinks. Speaking of non-alcohol drinks...I asked a bartender if they had any Diet Coke and they didn't...only root beer. So get this! Chelsea, one of the owners got word that my hubby wanted a Diet Coke so picked some up on her way in! Talk about "above and beyond" customer service! Don't get hangry and order up some delicious food! Several of us got the Montrose Philly Melt (grilled top sirloin, pepper and onions, topped with white American cheese served on Texas toast). There is a dog friendly patio out front where I sat with my dog. The inside is clean and the bartender was friendly. I wanted a lighter beer and she suggested the lager which was pretty good. I got some food as well, which you order at a separate window and are given a buzzer when your order is ready. I got the Pomo bites which are fried corn, jalapeños, bacon and cream cheese. They were ready quickly. They were decent and kind of soggy and pretty small portion. It was average bar food. I got the Montrose Philly Melt which was delicious. Pairs perfectly with the beers. Waffle fries were good too. The main attraction is probably the beers though. I got a Mexican lager and the castle lager. Both were very flavorful and tasted great, without being too heavy. For service, it was nice that the food had a pager so I could easily know when it was ready. The bartender gave some good suggestions on possible beers, and let me try them before getting a pint of each. It's a small place, but high quality. These are wonderful people! We had issues with our camper going out of town and had to stop in their parking lot. We felt so bad. But the owner came out and asked if we needed help instead of berating us for being broken in his parking lot. He was so kind!! HUGE fan of our new, locally owned brewery. The owners are exceptional and truly care about providing our community with quality beverages, food and service. The staff is fun and attentive and the ambiance is welcoming and bright, whether you're indoors or outdoors. I have never had a bad meal- the fried chicken and daily specials do not disappoint.
