Oh my god ;u;. Natalie did my hair, and I just want to say, I don't know if I've ever been this happy about a haircut before. First off the salon was very clean, bright, and spacious - I felt very welcomed in the salon and was greeted sweetly by the receptionist! I think Natalie saved me from getting a cut I would have regretted. She just knew I had no idea what my hair does or why it's the way it is... I'm so grateful to have booked with a stylist who cared enough to tell me straight: no, this haircut is not for you. After asking me what I was looking for in a hairstyle (high or low maintenance for example, like if I had time to style in the morning) and recommending a different cut with all those things in mind... oh my god. Edgar does an amazing job at cutting and styling hair. Staff is also very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this place.

Edgar is an accomplished hair stylist. He has a sense of innate colors and a great talent for collating colors with the girl's physiognomy. Every year I travel to Europe and visit hair saloons constantly. I can say from my own experience that Edgar is at the level of some of the most famous hair stylists in Europe. I have full confidence in Edgar's recommendations and I can't wait to visit Remix when my hair needs care again because I know Edgar will surprise me with his recommendations and I always get compliments from my friends for the way my hair looks. I have curly hair. Been to many stylists in the area and couldnt find somone who could layer. Im from out east and never any issues. I asked if they had anyone who could cut curly hair. They said yes. I went to the senior stylist. Long story short, she layered my hair and framed my face as requested but I asked for long layers, I got short. The most damage was from texterizing my ends way to much, and now its frizzy. Golden rule.DON'T TEXTERIZE CURLY HAIR. SHE TOLD ME ITS THE SAME AS VERTICAL CUTTING BECAUSE I ASKED HER. VERTICAL CUTTING is DIFFERENT. NO ONE HAS HEARD OF VERTICAL CUTTING IN THIS AREA. If you have curly hair, please do your research. I still havent found anyone around here. They do basic cuts around here and the service is awful. I also sent them a email and no reply back. read more

Elizabel did my hair. Asked for highlights. Technique was good but the colour was not what I asked for. It ended up being grey blonde highlights (I have black hair). She was not attentive as she left the colour on for too long while she cut someone else's hair. She then had to tone my hair twice. Overall she achieved a good look but the process took so long unnecessarily because she was not attentive. For the high end price for her service I would expect more attentive service especially when colouring the hair. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Not often do I feel compelled to take time out of my day to write a review for a business. But the way I was treated here left me with no other choice. As a guy I guess I've never known the difference between a haircut and a salon experience. Don't get me wrong, I've had my hair cut at a "salon" before, but those experiences left me feeling ordinary, in fact most times I'd get home and have to take out my scissors and fix a few stragglers that somehow survived the botched attempt that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Heck, when I take my cat for her yearly lion cut, I feel she gets better value than I do having my mane cut. So, I was quite hesitant at first, as I had been growing my hair out for over a year, and I didn't want someone to just take some clippers to my hair and ruin a years worth of toque wearing. After seeing the owner Elizabel for a 10 minute consultation, I felt confident she could deliver what she promised. I felt pampered, I felt like she actually cared that I leave her salon happy, she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, highly skilled. She spent 3 hours on my hair, when she said I needed to keep a product in my hair for 30 minutes, that's how long it was in for, as I was scared to damage my hair so I also kept track, well, color me impressed, what attention to detail. It is locally owned businesses such as this that I feel we as consumers need to support, businesses where the owners are present and involved, get their hands dirty, and all for the love of their craft. I realize by now you're probably thinking, simmer down guy, after all, it's just a haircut, well let me tell you my friends, when you look and feel as sexxay as I do right meow, you'll understand exactly how happy a visit to this salon will leave you, walking down the street people will say, look at that dumbass grinning to himself, what's he so happy about... But more importantly you won't care, because your hair will look way better than theirs. ;) read more

I came in on Wednesday with some pretty serious damage to my hair due to a self inflicted hair faux pas (ooops!), not only was she totally kind to my bruised self esteem she did some fabulous work on my hair! Had my first experience today....I'm only sad that I didn't know about Remix sooner!!!!! Elizabel is amazing, she is very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable in her care. I thought I wanted a texture perm, I am so very glad she told me about the process and what it would look like with my fine, long, straight hair. It wasn't for me....and I am so glad she took care of me. She did an AMAZING color and cut, and I almost can't wait until my bangs grow back so I can go there again. Remix is such a warm and inviting place, very conveniently located and easy to park since it is in the vicinity of coquitlam center. I usually do my errands, shopping and hair at once. I went to Elizabeth and wasted $150 for something I didn't ask for. I went back and asked her to fix it and she made it look even more dull and worse. All I wanted was a few highlights on my t zone to cover up my roots. She made the top half of my head super blonde and the back was brown. I had to go to another salon to fix it. read more

Had my hair ruined here, and had a terrible experience with the owner as well. I asked for an angled bob full-head highlights (ash with low lights and highlights). Specifically asked for not a straight across bob (showed lots of pictures of what I wanted) and no warm colors. Elizabel was very unfriendly but said she knew what I wanted. I ended up with a straight across bob which all my family can tell looks nothing like the pictures. Elizabel kept telling me it was "exactly" like the picture. The blond is yellow and looks like a cheap dye job, the foils are all uneven, there is a huge chunk of orangey blond at the back on one side and not the other. As well, for some reason, the back underside is done in reddish brown (very warm color). I was consulting with my husband what to do as she had cut a short straight across bob and I was scared to go shorter now to make the angle. She walked away and started a new customer. I didn't know what to do. Finally, I took off the cape and towel and went to the front. She was very rude and just named the price. The price was ridiculous! I told her I was not happy and had never paid that much at any salon in Vancouver. She didn't even look at me, but talked to my husband saying the cost was for a full head of foils, a color, and 2 haircuts! I have never been charged like that before. A full head of foils means that's the color part! Also, what two haircuts? If they go back over a section because you say maybe shorter that's 2 cuts! That's ridiculous! Never in my life have I had that. I asked her if she was going to listen to her customer, and she ignored me and again told my husband the price. I asked her again if she cared if I was not happy. She ignored me. Finally, my husband just paid and we left. I emailed her, giving her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps she had a bad day and actually wanted her customers to be happy. I never got a reply. Now I am out over $200 for a bad hair job and the business refuses to fix it or refund my money. This is not a professional salon. read more

Disappointed. We are new to the area and I had searched online and saw the positive feedbacks so I booked an appointment for my daughter to get a full bleachout (she's already blond but wants that platinum blonde look). They called to confirm that is what she wanted but when she went in, the hairstylist talked her out of it and said that foils would be better but it would be just as light. It wasn't. I talked to the manager and she said they would like to fix it. I went in this morning with my daughter for a consultation, with the expectation of talking about how to correct it, and was advised that I would be charged. Not what I was expecting after my conversation with the manager. Obviously more concerned about making money then giving the client what they want. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Cut with Melisa was not as expected; too short and uneven. She was not open for conversation, but tried to justify the cut. I will need to grow out my hair before being able to rectify this cut. She has a nice review below, so maybe she was out of it due to the busy holiday season but I will not be going back. read more

Got my hair cut by Micky a few months ago. She was complementary and non-judgmental. She realizes that some ladies come in for the salon-grade experience even when they're otherwise apathetic about their hair style. That is, I normally wear my hair up in a ponytail or bun but I enjoy being pampered once in a while. This hair salon is very professional, clean, pretty, and I didn't find it overly pricey for my cut and styling. I will eventually book another appointment here. Extra bonus is that they're open late a couple evenings per week. Super bonus is that they are walking distance from my home. read more

Just found this beautiful salon and had a wonderful experience. Melisa is fabulous! She cut my hair and coloured and cut my daughters hair. We both love the results. An added bonus at the salon was a mani/pedi by Moira. She did a great job and I really enjoyed my conversation with her. She did not rush me through and it was so relaxing. Both the salon and spa area are very clean and modern and the products they use are top notch! The prices are really reasonable for the service you receive. I live in Delta but I will make the trek to Coquitlam for the great hair and spa services. read more

I paid an enormous amount of money for an ok colour job but terrible haircut. I don't mind spending $50 on a haircut but not when I need a haircut after. She offered to redo it at the end of my appointment but in a few weeks. Who wants to leave the salon looking like crap and then have to come back to have it fixed. Very unprofessional.
