Looking for a sports bar to grab a drink and a meal this Sunday after and we found it. There are a few steps going into the restaurant so watch you step. It was seat yourself and we found a table by the big screen. We were greeted by Leah who took our drink order. I enjoyed a margarita. My husband had a Bacardi and Coke double shot. Danyele was our waitress. She greeted us with a smile and was very kind. I enjoyed a BLT with a side salad. My husband had the perch with french fries and a vegetables. We did try the broccoli cheddar poppers and they were quite good for being deep fried delicious appetizer bites . I thought the breading was thick but my husband enjoyed the back, cheese, cauliflower combo. The BLT sandwiche, vegetables and side salad were good. The ranch had a very heavy dill flavor. It was yummy! The perch says it's the best in the menu but didn't feel it was a kick out of the park meal. Two margaritas, one Bacardi and Coke, BLT, cauliflower poppers, and the perch meal ran about $64 with tip. read more

We go there at least once or twice a month. They have the best Steaks I love there surf and turf. But if you want a good burger the cowboy burger is awesome just a little heat and a nice juicy and thick Pattie. So fare I have liked all the food I have tried. Arrived for a quick meal and got waited on super quick. The bar is interesting - especially if you are a hockey fan as we are. Good selection of bar food. Our meals arrived quickly and were very good. Drinks are fairly priced. This is a good spot to try with a great local feel, another reason to avoid chain restaurants. read more

We were looking for somewhere to eat lunch, punched in restaurants on our gps and this came up. The waitresses were great and tag teamed making sure all the customers were taken care of. There were only two waitresses that took great care of many customers. I had a patty melt. It was excellent and not greasy at all. The fries were ehh. They weren't greasy but they also were not hot. My husband had the Wednesday special a chicken wrap served with tortilla chips and queso. I ate my fries with his queso. Yummy. He said that it was good but the chicken at both ends was dry. Sorry. I have eaten at the Remus tavern several times since the 80s. This last visit, July 29, was so good! The fish was hot and crispy. The veggies that came with our meal were some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They were cooked, but not over-cooked, had a slight butter flavor, and perfect texture. Our appetizer-the combo platter-came out quickly and was hot and tasty. Our server was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Came upon this place while driving through town. It was packed with locals and seemed popular. The burgers smelled great, but I didn't partake tonight. I got a 12" veggie pizza and substituted the onion for ham. It was ok, nothing spectacular and was typical bar food. I didn't have high expectations. My Dad had heard this place had really good food. Sadly our meal was extremely greasy. I have had patty melts in the past but the one here are almost dripping in oil. I had to take the bread off and just eat the patty since the greasiest part was the bread. Meat was good and fries were ok. Staff was friendly enough and prices were ok. We came in for lunch at 2pm and the service was great. I had the fried perch which were lightly coated and delicious. Fries are crinkle cut and were cooked just right to be crispy yet not overdone. My kids liked the cowboy burger and hickory burgers with fries and were happy with their meals. Chicken noodle soup looked to have homemade noodles and was quite good as well. This is our local bar/restaurant. Some things we love, some not as much. They do great breakfast, pizza, burgers, and fish! Especially the perch. Also the sandwiches are good, with the Reuben and club being favorites. Lots of people like the Mexican and smothered dinners, but I am not as high on them. I will say, slightly above average for Michigan Mexican, but I spent a lot of time in the southwest and that has spoiled me. Anyway, worth the time and the meal. read more

Decent burgers and bar food place - one of the only restaurants in town so you're limited on options anyway. The portions are big, esp the nachos or taco salad (pretty much like the nachos without the melted cheese). Locals seem to like the fish n chips! Service was great, they were quite busy and still served everything quick and with a smile. One weird thing for a tavern is the beer is served in a can or bottle only. Can of PBR was $2.75. Stopped by this past Saturday with a few friends and 3 out of the five of us were sick by the next morning. The 3 of us ordered salads. 2 steak salads and one salad with chicken. I have enjoyed taking my parents to this restaurant on many occasions the hostess and has always been friendly and assertive. My dad always gets a large enchilada and my mom always goes for the grilled walleye or whitefish, I personally enjoy a nice cooked sizzler steak with a cup of home maid soup and a twice baked potato. This should be a nice place to stop while traveling to or from the casino in Mt Pleasant. It's not. We've stopped twice in the last year and were underwhelmed both times. Both times we ordered burgers, the quintessential bar food. Both times the burgers were dry, as if they'd been frozen at some time. When I get a half pound burger from a small town tavern I'm looking for juice dripping from the bun, carrying with it the one thing you're looking for, flavor. Not with these burgers. When they brought our food, my friend said: "Smells like fish". It was the french fries. Tasted like fish too. Tasted like it was past time to change the oil. The fries were also overcooked crinkle cut. Once again dried out like the burgers. In defense of the establishment, it was a Saturday night and they were packed.
