One of my favorite venues for weddings. Beautiful ballroom with massive chandeliers and great lighting. The reception area is spacious and has a water feature. The ceilings are high and the window treatments are tastefully done. I have been coming to this ballroom ever since the day they opened their doors. They serve fresh, flavorful and delicious food. From over 20 mezzes to bbq and fish. I always enjoy my dinner here. After trying the salads and appetizers I rarely have room for the main course but it's a must to eat a piece of Armenian bbq. The service is a hit or a miss depending of the waiter or waiter that your table is assigned to. Last night our waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful. Attended a weekend wedding for my cousin and truly had a memorable experience at this banquet hall. Beautifully laid out, decorative, extravagant, and a lovely staff. The overall vibes of location were wonderful, easy to find, valet is available for those not interested in hunting for parking. Their staff is well equipped to attend to all folks, very attentive, helpful and go above and beyond to bring you what you need. I went last night for a wedding reception in the grand ballroom and the place was gorgeous! Some foods were a little salty, but delicious overall! Ate my fill and then some! They provided wonderfully gold accented macarons for dessert, and they were gone instantly! Was seated in a table of twelve. They had good service, gyoza for ors d'oeuvres and was greeted with selection of coke, mimosas, or wine upon entry. The main course was beef, chicken, or pork, mediterranean style. There was yogurt on the table and rice, it was self-serve. There was an overabundance of appetizers that the table wouldn't fit more plates! For the second part of the course there, the servers came around with champagne and fillets of fish or fried fish, or both. The mushrooms were delicious, elegant arrangements, and I also loved the dolma (mediterranean stuffed grape leaves). The servers should definitely smile more! Maybe it was just our server. Had an incredible first impression of this banquet hall. Despite the luxury aspect, service plays a significant role. I was greeted with kindness from the very start. They have two halls, one on the larger side and the other a bit smaller, which makes it versatile for all sized events. The interior of the hall was stunning and appeared to be newly remodeled. I must additionally mention that the food was delicious and undoubtedly fresh. The waiter that was serving us was beyond respectful and patient. He was attentive to our table, making sure if we had any further requests. Unfortunately, I forgot to get his name but because nowadays it's become rare to receive high-end service at L.A. restaurants, I was surprised that I finally found a venue that does indeed provide excellent service. This place is beautiful, high ceiling, crystal chandeliers, custom lighting, huge dance floor, a stage area, and their own parking (fits 450). Garo is one of the owner of this establishment and he's also is the head chef. He really puts his heart into what he does. Make sure you deal with him only. Our guest loved the food. Big portion and no one goes home hungry. Many of our guest said, " the food was non stop." I have been here for a variety of events and have to say each time has been great. They have valet parking and while they don't tell you or have any signage the cost is $5. Better than looking for parking and having to walk while all dressed up and in heels. It is your typical armenian hall in that the have a zillion mezzes for you to get full on before the main course. They have their own valet parking, which is always a plus, and the employees will always open the door for you. 3.5 stars, but I'll round up. Attended a wedding in one of the smaller ballrooms here. The food was very salty (we ended up drinking a lot of water over the next day as a result). Personally, I don't understand the lack of a lazy susan on the table given the number of dishes. Every time I wanted to have a sip of water I had to move a number of things around. Also, there were two forks on the table, but I got a new plate at least four times, but the server would put my dirty fork back on the plate. I find that kind of gross. The space was small and not as tacky as some of the photos would suggest (I am not a fan of the neon lighting). It was very loud, though, so the sound system could use a bit of adjusting. I attended a wedding here and it was a beautiful banquet. The service was wonderful. Not only did the waitress offer to pour our drinks and food, but she constantly came and asked us if anything was missing. If we did need anything else, she instantly came to get it for us. The temperature was on par for guests; I have been to many banquet halls which were ice cold inside and it makes the guests uncomfortable. My husband and I had our wedding day at the Portofino Hotel & Marina in Redondo Beach, CA, but 2 days after our wedding day, my parents threw a lovely cultural wedding ceremony and reception celebration for us at the Renaissance Banquet Hall in Glendale, CA. We LOVED the Renaissance Banquet Hall as the venue for our second wedding celebration! The banquet hall is spacious (and our ceremony and reception was in the smaller of the two ballrooms, since we had around 90 guests at our second wedding event), is perfect for cultural events, has many tables, and has a large dance floor! The banquet hall has its own catering and it was WONDERFUL! There were endless hors d'oeuvres and appetizers (seriously, at least 20 plates of delicious food at each table) and a delicious Middle Eastern lunch (ground beef, chicken, steak, and seafood kabobs with rice, stews, etc)! Service was excellent throughout! They were extremely professional at our food tasting and on the day of our cultural ceremony & reception as well! The banquet hall is classy, clean, elegant, and perfect. I also loved how all the photos came out - perfect lighting, and there's a beautiful fountain in the lobby where we posed for photos with our guests. Not every bride gets two days of wedding celebrations, but I am so fortunate to have had that and the Renaissance Banquet Hall was the perfect location for our cultural wedding ceremony and reception!
