However, they have a another dish that is vegetarian. It is a piece of dough that is stuffed with Va Orie of herbs. That is excellent as well, but acquired taste. The inside is nice and clean. Whenever I've had Lahmacun it was served with some slices of onions, tomatoes, and parsley or cilantro over here. They only give you a slice of lime. I really enjoy the authenticity of this place, and they've recently opened their second location in North Hollywood. I've come here a few times for their Zhengyalov hats, but once I found out they also make lahmajun, I had to try it. Let me tell you, it is some of my absolute favorite lahmajun. We ordered the zhengyalov hatz~basically a flatbread with veggies/herbs. It was the best dish~I mean, its their namesake....came out super fast and I feel like everyone ordered this. Perfect for those non-meat eaters. We also ordered the lahmajoun, aka Armenian "pizza" that my friend whos half Armenian claims is the "best hes had". I can't tell the difference since I have nothing to compare to. But I do know the crust was super thin and crispy in the right places. Didn't pack a ton of flavor, but it was good. Price point was amazingly cheap...The pork shawarma I didn't care for. Took one bite only. It was a tad too sweet for my liking. I also ordered this cucumber & dill yogurt drink and its pretty legit. I finally made it to this spot and was not left disappointed. We went in at 7:00pm on a Friday night and ordered one Zhengyqlov hats to share as a light snack before dinner plans later that evening, and boy was it filling. The dish is not like anything I can compare to, it's a very unique dish as it uses 12 different types of greens, but if you like healthy, earthy green dishes, you have to try this spot. When we got there they had about 8 of the dishes made but they warm it to order and its just such a comforting snack, though it can definitely be it's own meal if you eat the whole thing. He also ordered an Armenian coffee. The prices have gone up from what I can tell but they're still pretty reasonable. The food was ready around 5-10 minutes later. The woman who took our order gave us the hatz and coffee while the other side of the restaurant provided us the lahmajune. We sat outside at one of the 3 tables and went to town. The zhengyalov hatz was delicious and refreshing! It was full of well seasoned miscellaneous veggies and I was surprised by how thin the bread was. The lahmajune was also so yummy and pretty big! It was super flavorful and had a thin layer of meat topping. Adding the lemon juice from the fresh lemon wedge provided the perfect tang. I can see why this restaurant is on the Michelin guide. My coffee was served black but was still rich in flavor as is, I'd recommend stirring it a bit because there's a lot more to be had if the brew doesn't collect all at the bottom. Their hatz had lovely greens that were both slightly crunchy, very refreshing and tiny hints of acidic pleasure. Their wrapped grain was thinner than expected and served hot! It was amazing. The pizza looking item was also a masterpiece. The thin crunchy bites were a rich complement to the savory, citrusy lemon juice bites of the cheesy and meaty topping. There were small hints of tomato and the way it all came together was balancing. Delicious breakfast fix. The famous wrap is everything you need it to be if you want a (delightfully vegan) mouth full of fresh herbs (pretty rough for a first date though, so plan ahead and bring floss, but your breath will be wonderful). Also, turns out this guy is a BEEFY MEAT EATER, so we added the ground beef pizza thing and some baklava after we scarfed down the delicate first course. This place is perfect, unpretentious, and they deliver EXACTLY for what you're coming. So we ordered the zhengyalov hatz ($7.99) which, unbeknownst to us at the time, is vegetarian. It is a flatbread stuffed with diced herbs and green vegetables. The version here is (I think) parsley heavy. I am no zhengyalov hatz expert, however the zhengyalov was zhengyalov-ing. The flatbread was warm and enveloped the cool greens. It made for a really tasty bite. I haven't tried anything completely new in a long time and this was surprisingly so good. We also shared the chicken shawarma ($15.99) which was also delish. They stuff it with red onions and fresh herbs, which keeps the sandwich tasting real fresh. It comes as no surprise that the flatbread and sandwich bread are phenomenal. Hard to believe in this day and age, but Glendale meters only take coins, or you can spend 10 mins downloading an app that charges you an exorbitant rate, which I did and regretted because the restaurant owner offered me two quarters (so nice!), but I had already paid $2.50 for a .50 meter. I came to try one item, the namesake dish Zhengyalov Hatz. It's exactly as The Infatuation describes: "With (at least) 15 herbs, leafy greens, and just the right amount of salt and oil, they taste like a salad wrapped in a fur coat, striking the perfect balance between chewy and feather-light." I could easily eat one of these every week. I had it with a bottle of drinkable yoghurt. Altogether satisfying, delicious, and guilt-free. The place is small.
