Perfect little stop for a light Armenian lunch. Their signature Zhengyalov Hatz are light and satisfying, and we also got the dill yogurt drink, an apricot compote (pretty sweet but fine if you sip it slowly/balance with water), and one very hot, eggy and cheesy kachapuri. Perfect to share with friends and sit outside listening to upbeat Armenian music!

I really enjoy the authenticity of this place, and they've recently opened their second location in North Hollywood. I've come here a few times for their Zhengyalov hats, but once I found out they also make lahmajun, I had to try it. Let me tell you, it is some of my absolute favorite lahmajun. The dough is done perfectly with just the right thinness, the meat is delicious and seasoned so well, and everything about it is exactly to my liking. I definitely recommend it, but be warned, they are massive, so there's no need to over order.

    Cute patio seating outside.

Love love love this place! It is the only place I know that serves its namesake and I am such a big fan. If you've never tried this and are an adventurous eater, I highly recommend it! It's essentially a wrap/crepe with a dozen different herbs and greens chopped up inside. I love herbs so this is right up my alley. I can see how some would say the herbs are slightly bitter or grassy, but honestly, it's an acquired taste. Especially when warm, this can really brighten my day. The staff is always working hard and seem very nice. The interior is well decorated and they proudly display their Michelin recognition. If you're ever in the little Armenia area of Glendale, you should definitely check this place out!

Tried this place earlier today and its pretty decent. Perfect for a simple lunch or grab & go meal. The menu is literally like 5-6 food items. We ordered the zhengyalov hatz~basically a flatbread with veggies/herbs. It was the best dish~I mean, its their namesake....came out super fast and I feel like everyone ordered this. Perfect for those non-meat eaters. We also ordered the lahmajoun, aka Armenian "pizza" that my friend whos half Armenian claims is the "best hes had". I can't tell the difference since I have nothing to compare to. But I do know the crust was super thin and crispy in the right places. Didn't pack a ton of flavor, but it was good. Price point was amazingly cheap...The pork shawarma I didn't care for. Took one bite only. It was a tad too sweet for my liking. I also ordered this cucumber & dill yogurt drink and its pretty legit. Not going to float everyone's boat but if you like odd drinks that are slightly savory....this is for you. Reminds me of the yogurt drinks I had in Croatia.

I've been searching for zhengyalov hatz ever since I tried them in Las Vegas. We finally were in the area and decided to drop by this spot in Glendale specializing in it. The spot is super cute and the service friendly. It's a fast casual where you order at the counter, and find a seat. We got the "veggie wraps" pretty quickly and enjoyed them thoroughly.

The menu is simple. Then name of the place is what you're here for. We ordered, we shared, we enjoyed our experience. Ordering takes place at the counter. They will yell your name and you pick up when it's ready. It's a small cozy spot. Off peak times are best to really enjoy the atmosphere.

I liked this restaurant a lot. The food is amazing! The atmosphere is great too. Loved the old country feel. Will be back for more soon.

Zhengyalov Hatz is a charming little Armenian bakery tucked away in Glendale that's all about one specialty--and they do it so well. The menu is small and focused, with their star item being (you guessed it) the zhengyalov hatz--a traditional flatbread stuffed with a mix of finely chopped greens, herbs, and veggies. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant at first since I wasn't sure I'd like all the greens inside, but it completely exceeded my expectations. The flavors were balanced, fresh, and super satisfying. I could've easily eaten another one! It's the kind of simple, comforting food that hits just right. The bakery itself is cute and cozy, with subtle Armenian touches that make the space feel warm and authentic. I found street parking pretty easily on the weekend, though it might be trickier during the week. Service was fast and friendly, and while the prices are about what you'd expect for a quality bite in the LA area, the experience and taste make it worth it. If you're curious to try something new--or already love Armenian food--this little spot is definitely worth a visit!

I finally made it to this spot and was not left disappointed. We went in at 7:00pm on a Friday night and ordered one Zhengyqlov hats to share as a light snack before dinner plans later that evening, and boy was it filling. The dish is not like anything I can compare to, it's a very unique dish as it uses 12 different types of greens, but if you like healthy, earthy green dishes, you have to try this spot. When we got there they had about 8 of the dishes made but they warm it to order and its just such a comforting snack, though it can definitely be it's own meal if you eat the whole thing. Service was quick, efficient and courteous, they were kind enough to split the portion for us which we appreciated. Parking can be a little tough but the inner street around the corner had a few spots. Definitely give this place a visit and enjoy this delicious, unique dish. Also want to note eating here made me feel like I was transported to Armenia as the decor and the decor and theming was very on point.

You would think that a wrap filled solely with green and bitter herbs won't be appetizing, but then, you would be mistaken. If you're in Glendale, stop in and make sure you order the namesake dish. It's a traditional Armenian dish that is a staple during times of scarcity. It is very unique and I haven't had anything like it. It's also really delicious! And cheap! We also ordered a shawarma and a lahmaçun and this lahmaçun was the best one I've had outside of Turkey! Seriously, don't sleep on this place.

I came to try their famous zhengyalov hatz. It's all made fresh when you order. The flat bread was buttery and soft. The herbs inside all complimented each other and were so fresh. I felt so healthy eating this. The place is so cute and clean. Workers were friendly. I would come back again.

My friend really likes their zhengyalov hatz and I really liked the lahmajun (the flatbread). I personally love a small menu of things a restaurant specializes in. It's a cute cozy place for a quick meal. I can't say I've ever had zhengyalov hatz before and I've only had a few variations of the flatbread/lahmajun/lahmacun across cuisines, but a solid place. Especially for the lahmajun hehe.

I happened to be at the tire shop across the street getting the tires changed on my car and needed to pick up some pastries for guests that were coming over that same day. One of those guests happens to be a baker so I really needed to find some fresh delicious pastries. I checked Yelp for nearby bakeries and La Jaconde popped up with really great reviews so I drove right across the street and picked up some baked goods. I picked up this big pastry that was stuffed with cream cheese and sour cherries (TRUST ME you want this), a box of mixed cookies and bite sized goodies, and a box of stuffed dates (don't knock it until you try it). EVERYTHING was fresh. Everything was tasty. And it got the stamp of approval from the baker friend. The cream cheese and sour cherry stuffed bakery literally disappeared in 10 minutes, and that thing was not small by any means. I returned to this same place the following week to pick up some savory baked goods for some friends, and the owner was at the shop and was so kind and so proud of his products (as he should be). Needless to say this is going to be my bakery of choice. I'd drive past 5 shops to get to this one any day.

Always a pleasant experience at these bakeries. This Glendale bakery café was clean, bright, and beautifully organized with a large variety of pastries, cakes, and drinks on display. The pastries were soft and flavorful without being overly sweet, and the cakes looked just as good as they tasted. The curry croquette wasn't a favorite of mine. This was for a birthday party, so having the cake ready as promised was extremely important. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, discount, refund, or apology for the inconvenience, I was simply told to pick a different cake or wait another 30 minutes for a replacement. Mistakes happen, but giving away a prepaid custom order and then acting as if it's a minor inconvenience is unacceptable. The whole reason for pre-ordering and paying in advance is to avoid this exact situation. Unfortunately, this experience caused unnecessary stress on an already busy day, and I cannot recommend this bakery based on how this issue was handled.
