The 3rd day of me picking my niece up, I noticed there was a bite mark on her shoulder. When I asked my niece what happens she told me she got bit and when I brought it up to Seema, she replied with "she never said anything to me" and proceeded to tell me what it must not have happened in her class. That was my first red flag. My second one was when I was trying to pick up my niece and I couldn't find her teacher. Shouldn't they be in the classroom? I am extremely disappointed in how everything is run here and I hope this gets addressed soon. Please be careful with who you leave your kids with and always believe your child when it comes to them being injured.

They use their authority to intimidate staff and parents alike, showing little to no genuine concern for the kids' well-being. Instead of fostering a safe and nurturing environment, they rule with fear, making irrational and selfish decisions that put children at risk. The level of unprofessionalism is astounding--ranging from blatant favoritism to emotionally abusive behavior. They refuse to take responsibility for mistakes and will gaslight parents into believing concerns are "misunderstandings" rather than addressing real issues. Their incompetence is only matched by their arrogance, as they dismiss feedback and retaliate against anyone who questions them. If you're looking for a safe, supportive place for your child to learn and grow, look elsewhere. This daycare is a toxic environment run by people who should not be in a position of power over children.

This is a terrible daycare. My daughter attended for almost the entire year of 2022. During that…read moretime, she had 10 lead teachers and countless assistant teachers. Oftentimes we'd arrive to drop her off and it'd be a new face on a daily basis. No one ever introduced themselves to us, and my daughter had no consistency, making her feel less comfortable being dropped off. My daughter needs help with drop off and during the entire time we were there, only a couple of the teachers would help - most of them stood back and let you try to get your child to interact with the other children. When she started getting older, they moved her to another classroom, but when they had staffing issues, they just moved my daughter from room to room without any communication with us. We'd arrive in the morning and never knew which room we were supposed to take her to. They'd then move her in the middle of the day multiple times, leaving us unable to see her on their camera system, and not knowing where to pick her up. We had several instances of arriving to pick her up and she'd have a poopy diaper, causing rashes. There were a few times the poop had been there so long that she was bleeding from the rash it had caused. The final straw for us was when we potty trained our daughter, it felt like we were working against the daycare. The first day after training, they took her out of the room with a toilet, moved her to the younger room, and put her back in a diaper. Every weekend we had to nearly re-train her because they weren't listening to her when she said she needed to go potty and they weren't giving her enough reminders. She'd come home having had at least 1 accident daily. She also went from LOVING going to the potty to it being a battle to get her to go. After just 3 days at home, she no longer has any accidents, indicating that they definitely weren't doing their part. In the 11 months we were with this daycare, there were 3 directors. The newest director Ashley really seems like she's trying to turn the place around, and I had faith in her for a long time. I just think this daycare is too far gone at this point. It just needs to be shut down.

I also was not yet 100% sold on paying for a Christian education. She did a year of Montessori preschool and two years at a homeschool hybrid. This process of exploration over three years helped me gain clarity on what we want to prioritize in our children's education. It ultimately led us back to SCS, with grateful hearts. She returned to SCS as a first grader this past school year and I was completely blown away. I'll touch on three areas of 'insider insight' that I couldn't have known about until we were part of the school: community, discipleship and spiritual maturity. Community Community is of utmost importance to me, especially coming from a small, tightly-knit homeschool community at our previous school. SCS not only met, but exceeded my expectations for a parent community. I immediately felt plugged in and connected to the parent community just by jumping into a few of the many opportunities for parent involvement like Parents in Prayer, Mom's Time Out, Women's Bible Study, Room Parent and Volunteer XC / Track Coach. Raising our children in a community of like-minded, trustworthy, faithful and believing families is high on our priority list and brings so much peace of mind. I have connected with and really love and enjoy, not just a handful of families, but SO many families at SCS! Discipleship We truly felt that our daughter's teacher and all of her 'specials' teachers (PE, Music, Art & Library) partnered with us in training her up in the ways she should go. A biblical worldview and curriculum is woven throughout all subjects. As such, we have a consistency of discipleship from home, to church, to school. Spiritual Maturity Growing in my own spiritual maturity over the past three years and critically thinking about what I want our kids to take away from their education convinced me of the importance of investing in a Christian education, including any sacrifice necessary to make that happen. This first year back at SCS only affirmed and solidified that decision for me. I recently attended the last chapel of the year which featured two graduating eighth grade speakers. I was moved to tears by the spiritual maturity of these two young ladies. The spiritual fruit of a Christian education was evident in their words. I left challenged, moved, and hopeful for my own young children's experience. My own daughter demonstrated so much spiritual growth this past year too. From the conversations we had, to the Bible stories she recounted to me, to the songs, pledges and other things she memorized - her little heart was captured. The culmination being when she gave her heart to Jesus toward the end of the year. Her teacher emailed my husband and I to share the good news and I just cried and praised God. Our daughter's first grade teacher and SCS are forever a part of our family's eternal story and we are beyond grateful. This school is educating for eternity and, as a parent, I can think of nothing more valuable.

There is no doubt in our minds that she cares for all of the kids, teachers and staff as I'd they all were a part of her own family. Despite these expectations, I received little to no support from the administration. The demands of these responsibilities often conflicted with one another. My coworkers regularly expressed that the lunchroom was difficult to manage without my presence, while I was simultaneously expected to cover all kindergarten library times. This left me feeling like I was expected to be in two places at once and made it impossible to fully meet the needs of either responsibility. The principal rarely interacted with staff and visited my classroom only once every couple of months, often calling me by the wrong name. The vice principal consistently failed to follow through with student discipline and frequently required educational assistants to apologize for appropriately enforcing school expectations. Student behavior was often managed inconsistently. I was told by a kindergartener that the vice principal had given them a phone to watch TikTok. In another concerning situation, a fourth-grade female student who reported being punched in the stomach by a male classmate was allowed to decide whether her parents would be informed. Too often, it felt as though students, rather than staff, were in control. School administrators would often reprimand staff for not awarding Golden Tickets to students whenever a parent complained, even when those students had not demonstrated the appropriate behavior to earn the recognition that day. This created inconsistency in the school's behavior management system and undermined staff members' professional judgment. Instead of teaching students appropriate coping skills, conflict resolution, or self-regulation strategies, disruptive behavior was frequently rewarded with toys or playtime in the office. This approach undermined classroom expectations and made it difficult to maintain a safe, respectful learning environment. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this school as a workplace due to the lack of administrative support, unrealistic workload expectations, inconsistent discipline practices, and overall school culture. Lastly, my child attended this school and was not consistently challenged with work that matched their abilities or academic potential.
