DO NOT HAVE A WEDDING HERE!!!! Simeen is horrible to work with and does not honor all her husband promises couples. they never meet with couples at same time, he lures them in with promised and she does not honor them!!! Venue is outdoors so beware that their is NO place to go inside if bad weather and they charge extra for every little thing!!! For the price of the venue, you get nothing else from them. So many venues out there that will cater to a bride and groom. you cannot decorate reception area until 6pm, which means YOU are NOT decorating it due to being at the wedding sight. more money to spend as you would need to hire someone to decorate it for you. Guests cannot be at reception area until 630, so by time everyone is shuttled up there, do dinner, cake, toasts etc, you will be lucky to get 2 hours of music and dance. It has to end at 10pm in spite of the contract stating you get venue to 11pm, that last hours is so YOU can clean it for them since they do NOTHING!!! Bride and Groom suite are on a hill that you get at 3pm, so have hair and make up done before you get there a you get time to change and then go do photos before the ceremony. Not sure why she wont let them have these sooner, no one is using them. Bride will walk down hill that has a gravel path to wedding sight, I just see issues with that, falling down, twisting an ankle, dress being filthy. We tried to work with her, she was very difficult. She took our money and refuses a refund of any kind because she is a greedy you know what!!! I hope these reviews are worth it, I paid for them so enjoy these Simeen!! They also say they can cater a smaller wedding 75 or less. We asked about this and were basically told we really should use a caterer!! read more

Disappointing Experience and Poor Coordination Our experience with Renaissance Wine Garden was deeply disappointing. John and Simeen Cook, the owners, do not seem to communicate with each other, and that lack of coordination falls directly onto couples trying to plan their wedding. John made several promises during the tour, only to disappear afterward, and Simeen seemed unaware of everything he had committed to. Instead of working as a team, they left us feeling like their only priority was themselves, not the couple or the event. For the price, you receive nothing beyond access to the space. There is no help with setup, decorating, or teardown. Every small detail--neon signs, firepit, draping--comes with an additional charge. Access to the venue is extremely limited: ceremony site and suites at 3pm, reception area not until 6pm, and guests cannot enter until 6:30pm. By the time dinner, cake, and toasts are done, you're left with barely two hours of dancing before everything must end at 10pm, despite the contract stating 11pm. The final hour is reserved for you to clean up because the venue provides no assistance. We were even told we could access the reception area slightly early, but only if it didn't "look like setting up," because customers were present. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, even though we were paying to be there. The bar was another point of confusion--Simeen couldn't clearly explain how it worked. They also advertise onsite catering for groups under 75, yet discouraged us from using it and pushed us toward outside catering instead. Overall, this venue forces couples to hire additional help for everything, driving costs far beyond what most budgets allow. The lack of flexibility, support, and professionalism caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for both the bride and her mother. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. Due to all the additional stress my daughter had to go find another venue and I have not received any of my deposit back as of yet. Visited the Renaissance Wine Garden this weekend Saturday 8/2. We stopped there on the way out to Lake of the Ozarks. I wanted to share this amazing place with friends who were visiting from Florida. We got there 30 minutes before they were scheduled to open. The owner was sweeping near the parking lot. As we exited our car he greeted us and apologized that they were getting ready to open but were not open til noon. He told us we were welcome to go have a seat anyway. When we grabbed our seats in this peaceful oasis the woman behind the bar was setting up get ready to open by noon. She asked what she could get for us and we were able to get tastings and glasses of wine and beers before they were even opened for business. The hospitality touched me because as I was there with friends from out of town I was proud that we were treated kindly and were not discouraged because we were there "too early" This is why I love independently owned small businesses. They care about their bio and understand the importance of customer service. My friends were impressed. We took a tour around the garden and took in the beauty & peacefulness this oasis has to offer. Thank you! It is one of my happy places and I love going as it is always a pleasure and great experience. read more

I loved it here!! Such a cute find. I was impressed they offered free tastes of the wine (seems like most places these days want to charge 15 or 20 for a tasting, as long as they throw in a branded wine glass I suppose they think it's fair!). The bartenders were really helpful and kind. They checked the ingredients of the pear fizz cocktail for me as I have a fruit allergy and seemed genuinely concerned about it. My friend and I split the charcuterie. As she is vegetarian, they swapped out the meat for extra cheeses, and when we ran out of baguette, they gave us a baggie of crackers. So accommodating! Also, it doesn't show in the picture, but the plate included whole roasted garlic, which was an excellent spread accompaniment. I definitely want to come back and try other menu items. Finally, and I'm not knocking a star since it seems most outdoorsy wine places just have this, I'll note there was live music, which personally I don't love the loud noise when I want to chat, but the band did take and honor requests. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by to tour the venue for our upcoming wedding, and let me tell you we might've just found the place! It was a bit chilly today, so John started our tour with a tasting bourbon for me and wine for my fiancé which was a great way to warm up and settle in. After the tasting, John took us all around the property, from the treehouse to the "wine bottle maze" (as John calls it) and down to the pond. Even with the early March rain and wind, the entire property was stunning. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in full bloom. Oh, and they do trivia on Friday nights in the summer, which is such a fun bonus! We'll definitely be coming back for drinks at the very least. read more

It's a very beautiful place for a wedding and my daughter and her now husband absolutely loved it, as we all did. However, I'm not sure the problems outweighed the beauty of the place. I could share our experience but I'd rather not write a small book.... Just know this.....Communication between John and Simeen is just not there. John is a very kind man and gives the first time tours. He definitely makes promises that are not kept when it comes to Simeen. Doesn't matter what HE tells you that initial tour, you should talk to Simeen first about everything promised BEFORE you book anything! I believe he wants to make it special for the bride but he says things that either, won't happen or can't be done. From decorations to arrangements to rules and regulations, it all changes the closer it comes to the big day. I feel they take advantage of the emotions a wedding brings. After booking, communication with Simeen is very difficult. Just make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing from Simeen as things will change on you constantly, as she constantly "forgot what she told us" when questioning a discrepancy. If you don't pay attention charges will be added or changed. If not in writing from her, then take TONS of notes! I promise, this will save you head and heart ache later! read more

So original! Beautiful rustic setting right by the city. Wines are fantastic!! The Vidal is dry yet full of flavor. The Catawba is a beautiful blush color that's sweet and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. Didn't try the food yet, but heard good things. Oh and the watermelon sangria was so yummy, could drink that all day. We will return! Also have a 'wedding in the woods' venue that reminds me of the Renaissance Faire. What a great place with lots of extra surprises. We got there on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few people at the counter tasting their wines. They gave you a free sample in a tiny plastic cup. The woman serving was very personable and knew the wines. We chose a bottle of the Semi Bianco and then explored the place. We first sat on the swings for two which was a great way to start our time there. Once we had enough of swinging, we went upstairs to explore the tree house. We first sat on a comfy couch and then the couple who were sitting in what we thought was the best seat (see picture) perched above the patio, left. After a little while (and a little wine) we then decided the hammock would be a good idea. And it was. What a perfect place to end our lazy day of exploring local wineries. read more

Wow. Just wow. I don't even know where to begin. I love this venue and it was soo beautiful! But sadly my experience here with Simeen was nothing but a disappointment. I got married here on Aug. 26, 2023. My 3 month, 6 month, and 9 month payments were all wrong. In the beginning, she gave me the 25% down payment amount and so that's what I should be paying for 6 month and 9 month, right? But in the middle of my 9 month payment she sent me a message saying the payments are wrong and had to pay even more than what she told me in the beginning when I booked the venue. She never gave me invoices. I didn't know she sent out invoices until she mentioned something about it so I told her to send me invoices for when I paid. John was the one that came out and gave me a tour. She was supposed to but never showed up. So he told me great things about the place and he was nothing but nice to me and showed that he actually cared that I'm getting married and using his space and it was wonderful! He was telling me about the shuttle taking guests to the nearest hotels and dropping them off after the reception and then talking about the bar and what they have available. But when I talked to Simeen, the shuttle doesn't go anywhere but there and they only have 3 beer choices and 3 wine choices to choose from. So, please don't tell a guest one thing and then say something else completely different. And by the way, we had more beer choices and wine choices to choose from on our wedding day. When I met Simeen, we met about 3-4 times and she didn't acknowledge me that I was there. You would think it's your special day and you paid soo much money for this venue, that for her to not have your full attention and not respect you is just bizarre to me. She also called me Sonya and said my wedding date wrong, so that's when you know she doesn't have a clue what's going on or just doesn't pay attention. The best for last. The pictures you see, that's what they did for the ceremony. It was raining that morning and I was freaking out about everything. I was stressed and Simeen just didn't want to help at all. Now, in the contract it states that there is a $300 covered canopy fee for the ceremony area, but it never said anything about giving a 48hr notice. So I guess they rent out that big canopy from another vendor and they need that 48hr window to tell them and let them know. Well, I wasn't informed about this until on the day of my wedding where I've been nothing but stressed already. So, they came up with little tents like these. I didn't hate them, but it was just not what I envisioned. My photographer had to think differently now as to where to do the family photos and the bridal photos. But we eventually figured it out in the end. I'm glad we got a hold of John and he helped set those up. Simeen did nothing to solve this issue. I only saw her once at my wedding and that's the only time I want to see her again. I don't recommend anyone going through Simeen. I would definitely go through John since he is the owner and is actually communicative with you, responsive, and respects you. read more

Fun little wine garden...NOT winery I would describe it as a place to drink wine in someone's really cool backyard. The two story tree house was fun...everything about this place encouraged sitting and relaxing for a while with friends or family. The seating was comfortable and plentiful early on a Saturday afternoon. The swings around the fire pit were definitely inviting. Although it was chilly, the fire pit was not lit but very windy so maybe that was the reason. They planned for a magician the night we went. We were far too early for that. Not sure how I feel about a magician...I think I prefer live music but I didn't stay late enough to be a true judge. The cinnamon peach sangria was amazing! Better start with a couple of pitchers. Yum! Took off one star because no masks encouraged or enforced. That being said, there is no law here for that, but coming from an area that requires masks everywhere, I was surprised. read more

This is a great little spot that we discovered while originally going to another nearby winery. It absolutely has a fantastic setup for couples, small groups, small parties or an even bigger event. The treehouse is really cool and with a music venue you will definitely have a great time. This is easily a four-star if they had a bigger selection of red wines. They had three to choose and I think two more in the mud-dry would make this better. Great selection of beers both German and Russian that were unique and tasty. We went on July 4th weekend. I thought it was a quaint little place and we will be returning. It wasn't very crowded, so the service was fast and very friendly, and they had some live music, which was nice. Things they are doing great: Love the tree house, fire pit and swing area, and courtyard with unique fountain that is made of musical instruments. The watermelon mint sangria was very good. The girl serving at the bar was extremely friendly and accommodating. The women's bathrooms were some of the nicest ones I have seen at a winery. You can pretty much hear and see the band from wherever you are. They have a cute basket deal, with two glasses, wine, and charcuterie for a good price. The owner was there, and very responsive and hands on, which I always appreciate. They have two mead options. They have an artsy wine bottle wall in the rear area. Room for improvement: The wine selection was less than ideal for my significant other with a very developed wine palate. I had the Renaissance White, and thought it was fine, but if you are going with a "wine connoisseur" they have few options. They should have all wines open so you can try them prior to buying. The tree house would have been great with a few ceiling fans. Food was not bad, we had some flatbread, hummus and chips, the cheese selection, and shark tacos. The shark taco tortillas were very soggy and came apart, as did the flatbread crust. The cheese on the cheese plate was okay. We did like the brie. And it was all served in to go containers. It would be nice to have the option of actual plates, silverware, glasses, etc. And they have a really cute indoor area there that I assume may be for private parties, but I would think with the location, if it isn't rented out, it would be ideal to have it also open to guests to use, since it is right in the front main area, unlike many private rooms, especially on the hotter days. When I first called, during business hours, no one answered the phone. All in all, it's a nice little place, out of the way, and less crowded than other wineries. I think if they made a few more improvements, the place would really stand out. read more

What a gorgeous hidden gem! Easy access from the highway, great staff, and the food and wine were incredible. Can't wait to go back!

If I could give them negative stars I would. This place use to be my favorite place I would go all fall and bring my family and friends however on 9/18 I went to this establishment and was asked If I had a reservation for my charcuterie board. When I stated no because I alway bring food and was unaware of any food ban (side bar nowhere on the website, facebook or social media is it stated no food) they said okay we will allow it because it's cute. After getting A table I went to go and grab my bottles of wine, I was then told I would be paying a 18% gratuity on top of needing to start a party tab! all of this for a small tray of food. I decided then instead of buying my normal amount of wine and allowing my friend to purchase his normally we would have one bottle and a pitcher of sangria and then leave and go to another winery! being someone who normally sits at this winery until close and buys both food even though I bring my own I always buy more and I keep the wine coming I decided to instead pay out my tab and leave upon leaving I noticed a small child this being comical because the one actual thing they have posted is no children allowed! however I guess only hidden rules apply. I will no longer be coming to this wine garden and thank god wentzville has a new one! I now realize the only reason you have good reviews is because the owner begs you to post one for a free wine glass. I will be letting my wright city and Troy family know to no longer go to this establishment and just pay the extra money to attend the other two wineries in the area or take the drive to blumenhouff the ladies there are amazing. read more

Outstanding "Mom & Pop" wine garden and wedding venue. My wife and I found them and decided to give them a try since they were close (Foristell). We thought it was going to be another small house converted to a "wine garden" we could not have been more wrong. There is a casual elegance everywhere you look. We met the owner John. Great guy who's passion for architectural design show in every detail of the property, from the two story "tree house" to the elegant fountain made from recycled brass instruments. They've only been open about a month and I think they are the best kept secret in Forestell and absolutely worth sharing. I enjoyed their wines, food (shark taco) and the ambiance.
