During one appointment, I was numbed by the surgeon only for the procedure to be halted because the necessary abutments were not available to him, despite the office having previously evaluated my case and having the correct parts in stock. The problems continued during the crown phase of treatment. Appointments were repeatedly rescheduled due to issues with the crown fabrication and other office-related delays. When the crown was finally placed, the procedure felt rushed and was significantly more painful than I expected. The crown fit was also not correct, requiring yet another appointment for adjustments. I was also disappointed that a cleaning was performed by an assistant rather than a hygienist without prior notice. The cleaning felt incomplete, and routine periodontal measurements that had been performed at previous visits were not done. The cumulative effect of these issues was a substantial amount of lost time, missed work, inconvenience, and frustration over many months. After documenting my concerns and requesting a partial refund due to the repeated office errors and treatment delays, my request was denied by the office manager. I understand that complications can happen in any healthcare setting. What matters is how those issues are handled. Unfortunately, my experience was that repeated mistakes occurred without meaningful accountability or resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office and will be transferring to a new dentist office.

Unfortunately, and I knew this would be serious, I needed a root canal. All went well and I was satisfied with all the work and really impressed with all the hi-tech instruments used. On another of my visits this year, I had to bring my 2 year old because I had no alternative. They were completely accommodating and let my daughter play in their play area. Their head dentist wasn't busy and helped out by showing my daughter how to brush her teeth on a stuffed animal with realistic teeth and gave her balloons. They even sent me a note to congratulate my husband and I for delivering our second baby this year. I can't think of many other places that are that caring. Oh and they did a great job on my teeth despite my neglect!

Apparently Dr Spaniel has been practicing 25+ years and recently opened her practive in the Bridgeport area of Tigard. There is easy parking. *Updated* Wow, was in today after COVID19 remodel of the entire office. Dr. Spaniel has spared no expense to create the safest possibly working environment. It blew me away, it's literally a 'clean room' in every space. The air is recirculated 14 times per minute with two huge HEPA filters in each room, and I can't even explain the extent of the clean room technology, it's beyond 'state of the art'. My new dentist looked specifically at all three teeth and said they were perfectly fine. Fast forward years later and they are still perfectly fine. I wonder how many other patients he has recommended false treatment for.
