Well I wanted pizza one day and they were only five minutes away. I don't know if it was because I was hungry but I must tell you the pizza was just great!! I've spent a fair amount of time in my youth in bars and I can't tell you how many pizzas I bought in those bars and paid almost $15 for a $5 pizza. I've watched the bartenders open a frozen pizza and toss it in a pizza oven and 15 minutes later they toss the cardboard in front of you. Well I don't know what "High-X" does because I didn't see them make it but man that pizza was great!! Maybe it was a fluke or maybe it was the fact I was just hungry for a bar pizza without having to travel to Laporte to pick one up but I will for sure be ordering more. I sit here thinking it can't be a fluke, it didn't look like a frozen pizza, the cheese was not skimpy. It was covered with cheese with plenty of sausage. I gotta say I think they put more cheese than at those hip n trendy pizza places with the white tile piece as a mascot. I didn't even ask for extra cheese. So if it is a frozen pizza and if this reviewer has been misled then High-X does the trick!! I will go back to test my theory and see if a second pizza is the same. Then a third to seal the deal!! It's a bar, you don't expect much from a bar on the side of the road but this place caught my eye with that delicious circle of pizza, "High-X" I'm coming back I hope we can forum a lasting pizza relationship on those days that I crave a bar pizza!! When they brought the check we noticed two items in it that we didn't order, which we realized after paying for it and looking at the receipt (they use portable terminals and have an option to text you the receipt). Our server corrected the mistake and refunded the difference for the two items we didn't order promptly after we pointed it out but this still left a bad aftertaste for us; we don't always look at receipts and this one would've gone unnoticed for sure, we only looked because total seems a bit too high. I also noticed that the soup upcharge on the menu is $2, but on the check it was $3. Pointed it out to the server too but she didn't do anything about it. It's just a dollar so we didn't press for it, and again, only noticed it because we started looking at the receipt due to unusually high total. Anyway, it was nice to visit, but we won't be back.
