Let me make this real simple: He took our photos. He took our money. He never produced the…read morephotos. And we had to go through the credit card company to get a refund. Do you really need to know more? We contracted Vincent Gross of Outer Banks Photography to take beach photos of our family in late August 2014. We paid him $199. He promised to deliver said photos on a disc within two weeks. Six weeks later, after many inquiries, he finally sent us a disc. Problem was that it had not a single photo of our family, just a whole bunch of shots of horses and beaches. No problem, he can send us another disc with the photos, right? Well, no. For some reason, he said he no longer had our photos, digitally or otherwise. He did not bother to explain why. And he insisted he would not give us a refund until we returned the CD with the horse photos. We did so, reluctantly. And then silence from him. We ultimately had to go through Visa to get a refund of the money we paid him. But we'll never get back the time we wasted having him take our photos and having to chase after him for three months in a futile attempt to get either our photos or a refund. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

One gentleman assists with transferring photos from old formats to digitized formats. The other gentleman deal with transferring old photos to digital formats and lite restoration. The only thing on the photos is that they cannot accommodate oversized printed photos. I had them transfer 10 VHSC tapes to digital formats. They were transferred onto a thumb drive, which you are charged for. I spent over $200, but I love the fact that I was able to upload my footage to my YouTube channel.

I especially like Canon's ELPH series because the cameras are sleek and super compact, yet still produce outstanding photos. They're also quite durable... well, except for my last camera (an SD1400 IS). Anyone who knows me knows I take a ton of pictures. My camera goes with me almost everywhere. I think I wore my last ELPH out. I started having power issues with it so I called Canon's support line for help. The Canon rep told me I would have to ship my camera into their service center in Virginia so a technician could diagnose the problem. The rep emailed me step-by-step instructions of what to do. I ended up on Canon's web site where I filled in a repair request form. After filling out the form with my contact info, camera model number and serial number, etc. I discovered my camera was still under warranty. That's funny because I thought I was outside the one-year warranty window. The web site also produced a packing slip and shipping label for me. I shipped my camera off via U.S. standard mail and received a refurbished camera (with all-new accessories) in six business days. That was fast. I basically got a new camera and extra accessories (battery, battery charger, cables, etc.) for free. For the speed and efficiency of Canon's service, how can I not give them five stars? It took a while before they changed, posed, chose photos, and payed. My group agreed there should have been a second person working to assist with the flow of multiple groups. The man working was fun and knowledgeable about photography during different time periods. For example, he suggested we order a "colorized" photo for the pirate theme since pirates didn't want their picture taken and most depictions of pirates are paintings. When it was time to pay, I wasn't expecting the $50 price tag for one 8X10", but other than that and the wait it was a fun experience.
