    Hillcrest Auto Body - untitled

I took my vehicle to Hillcrest Auto Body in Dec 2018 for a dent repair on the hatch door of my…read moreAcadia. The original quote they gave me was approximately $60 less than what the insurance company had estimated. Then during the repair process, I get notified by my insurance company that they paid an extra amount of money to Hillcrest Auto. I had to call Hillcrest to find out what was going on. They explained there was more damage than they thought. Ok, the insurance paid them. No problem, but when were they going to call and let me know? Then upon picking up my vehicle, the amount I owed to them was what the insurance company had estimated, not what they had quoted me. When I questioned the $60 difference, they couldn't explain it. I looked at my vehicle and I left. Then I went to use the hatch and it didn't function properly. So I called, it was the week of Christmas and I was told someone would call me the following week. NO ONE did. I waited and then I decided to go into their shop in person. I was told that they contacted the insurance company and were waiting on a reply. He then came out to look at what the issue was I was calling about. The hatch wouldn't stay up and it had almost hit my 3 yr old grandson. He had no concern. Then a few days later I get notified by the insurance company that they won't cover the issue, I didn't expect them to, as it was an issued that occurred from the repairman taking things apart. Yet Hillcrest denies removing the part that was in question. I have since repaired the issue myself and I have done research. Every body shop I have spoken to has stated that they don't know how Hillcrest can say they didn't remove the piece for the repair that was needed to be done. Yet because Hillcrest told the insurance company they didn't remove the part, it is their word against mine. Hillcrest won't accept responsibility and I can't prove it. So I can honestly say that if anyone I know says they are going to go to Hillcrest Auto, I will advise them not to. They have never called to tell me anything , they let the insurance company. They have no customer service skills when it comes to informing the customer.

Eugene and Jeneen are the owners and they run an amazing business. You can tell they put their heart and souls into it and that's why they are always so busy. Jeneen even drove me to and from the rental car location while my car was in the shop. Fast, friendly and professional. Deer damage is one of the highest dangers here in the hills and if you do get hit, take it to Mack's. They'll take good care of your repair.

The vehicle was not driveable and I needed a rental car while the insurance company did their thing. The next morning, I made call after call to the rental agencies around the area, unable to find anything available. I was about to give up when I tried Mack's Auto Body. Jenene advised that she didn't have anything suitable at the moment, but she would make some calls. Within a few minutes she called back, she had located an SUV for me and would pick me up in about an hour! The only stipulation was that I needed to return the vehicle to their shop on my return trip. I was back on the road that afternoon, enjoying my vacation. When the time came for my return trip, I found that my insurance company had totalled my vehicle, so I needed Jenene's help. Once again, she was able to work some magic and found another car that I could use "one-way" back to Chicago without a huge repositioning fee! I had contacted other agencies and no one was as friendly, helpful or persistent as Jenene. The rental was through Hertz, but Mack's is a Hertz agency. Jenene is one of the owners at Mack's, so I'm sure this is an example of their business' culture overall. I can't say enough about the customer service ethos at Mack's!
